Josefine "Pepi" Mutzenbacher ist der Name einer Wiener Prostituierten, die 1852-1904 gelebt haben soll. Ihre (vermutlich fiktiven) erotischen Lebenserinnerungen erschienen erstmals 1906 in kleiner nummerierter Auflage von 1000 Stücken in Wien bei dem ungenannten Erotika-Verleger Fritz Freund unter dem Titel Josefine Mutzenbacher oder Die Geschichte einer Wienerischen Dirne von ihr selbst erzählt. Das Buch erschien auf Subskriptionsbasis, um die damalige Zensur zu umgehen.

Ich bin frühzeitig zur Hure geworden, ich habe alles erlebt, was ein Weib im Bett, auf Tischen, Stühlen, Bänken, an kahle Mauerecken gelehnt, im Grase liegend, im Winkel dunkler Haustore, in chambres séparées, im Eisenbahnzug, in der Kaserne, im Bordell und im Gefängnis überhaupt nur erleben kann, aber ich bereue nichts von alledem.
