Am Ende stand ein »befriedetes«, also ein darniederliegendes Gallien, das jeden Widerstand gegen Rom aufgegeben hatte. Der Blutzoll war enorm. Caesars nächster Schachzug führte ihn mit seinen massiven Truppen in Richtung Rom. Die Stadt sollte bald ihm gehören.
