This updated edition of Wannabee Rock Star Who Finally Found the Rock tells the story of how a spiritually bankrupt musician, frustrated by near success, numbed by the effects of drugs and alcohol, and alienated from his family, finds love and redemption after many years of running in the shadows of the Dallas-Fort Worth hard rock music scene, beginning in the early 80s and continuing into the new millennium. Readers will get a behind-the-scenes peek into the life of an aspiring rock star, as McLester plays in such bands as Dirty Blonde, The Crossing and Solinger (sharing the stage with current Skid Row lead vocalist Johnny Solinger). Read as McLester's bands open on some of the area's biggest stages for such rock legends as Alice Cooper, Tesla, Cinderella, Vince Neil, Pantera and Scorpions. But a hard-rock lifestyle takes McLester on a wild journey that leaves him disillusioned and nearly dead. Wannabee Rock Star Who Finally Found the Rock penetrates the heart, as readers follow this talented young drummer with a calling on his life-a life catapulted into a quest for restoration of health, music, family and faith by what can only be understood as God's just-in-time, supernatural intervention, saving McLester from a tragic end. Believers and nonbelievers alike will be inspired by the manifestation of hope that sustains McLester during his near-death experience and beyond, as he fights back against his disease, buoyed by God's promise. The book relates how this same hope continues to propel McLester forward toward a cure and a newfound success with SuperNova Remnant, including 2012 tour dates with mega-platinum Christian rock band Stryper at House of Blues and the forthcoming release of the band's new album, Rockets Red Glare. Most important, readers will discover the grace, available for all, which transforms this rising rock star from a talented but troubled musician into a wise man of solid faith and an appreciation for life, sanity and health. This updated 2015 edition provides more than 80 inspirational pages of new written content and 130 colorful photographs, continuing the tale of McLester's long but miraculous journey of faith toward healing and restoration.
Remember the good old days of coaching young athletes? Coaches gave the orders. The players responded with action instead of asking, "Why?" But those are examples of a relationship lost to the ages-specifically to the last millennium. And coaches from that last millennium in every field of sports are learning the hard way that in this millennium they now face a new kind of player personality, one defined simply as a product of the Millennial generation which began reaching adulthood about the year 2000. With their cell phones and their Twitters, their helicopter parents and their Internet-bred knowledge of almost everything they could possibly want to know, the Millennials have been driving old-school coaches so crazy they have either quit, surrendered or exploded in frustration. With The Millennial Method, however, veteran college baseball coach Jason Schreiber and award-winning journalist Gary Taylor offer a more effective way to tap the athletic potential of the Millennial Generation and improve team performance by sharing techniques used with players on Schreiber's teams at Alvin Community College near Houston, Texas. The Millennial Method begins with an overview of the generational divide facing managers in all walks of life-from corporate offices to the ballparks-in a bid to understand those differences. Then the authors focus specifically on Schreiber's nationally ranked 2014 baseball team for a closer look at tools used to bridge the generation gap at Alvin. The Millennial Method explains one sure-fire tool that allows coaches to be certain all of their athletes fully understand the concepts taught the day before, while taking zero time away from practice. The method discussed in the book greatly enhances an athlete's sense of urgency to improve his or her skills.

"The Chicken Ranch was the one, great festering, frustrating sore on the face of law enforcement in Texas."The year was 1973. The State of Texas had just elected a new reform-minded governor and attorney general. And Houston's ABC-TV affiliate station at Channel 13 had just launched a new consumer-oriented investigative feature by hiring flamboyant former lawman Marvin Zindler to seize the spotlight. The roads from those disparate events crossed quickly in dramatic fashion to national acclaim in the Texas Hill Country village of La Grange, which had harbored the country's longest continually operating bordello-a little place known as the Chicken Ranch and beloved to generations of Texas school boys. When Zindler's sensational TV expose forced the Chicken Ranch to close, it triggered a national controversy that raged for years, highlighted by the creation of a successful Broadway musical called The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. The movie version starred Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton in the fictionalized account that boiled the story down to a basic theme still used in its marketing pitch: "Texas madam Miss Mona and her sheriff boyfriend try to save her chicken ranch from a TV muckraker."But lost amid the romanticized singing and the dancing and the nostalgic pining of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas lies an authentic true crime history yarn just as entertaining and as much a part of the Lone Star State's many fabled legends. In I, the People, veteran Houston journalist and author Gary Taylor recreates the real story behind the closing of the Chicken Ranch and explains the forces that unleashed TV icon Marvin Zindler upon the national scene.ReviewsMidwest Book Review: The famed film 'Best Little Whorehouse in Texas' had its roots in reality, but its charm wears thin when it has connections to organized crime. "I, the People: How Marvin Zindler Busted the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" is Gary Taylor's coverage of the story that tells of fellow journalist Marvin Zindler's personal crusade against the famous brothel the Chicken Ranch and the puppet strings of the Mafia behind it. For those who want the true story behind the story, "I, the People" is well worth considering.POD People: You may have heard of the "Chicken Ranch," AKA "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," from the musical or the movie of the later name. Well, Gary Taylor, intrepid Texan journalist, has the real story. Taylor has a wonderful eye for character, and the Chicken Ranch story is full of them. This book is a fascinating look at characters from an era when Texas transitioned itself from the Wild West to civilization. I highly recommend I The People.

Trump, Love Him or Hate Him, You Still Have To Laugh At His Gaffes. I'm often amazed at the inane and inconsiderate garbage spewed from his mouth or Twitter account. I had hoped and prayed that was just nonsensical political campaign propaganda. Maybe, I thought, once in office he would settle down a bit and get to the business of improving this great country. I haven't seen it yet, and rumors claim he's getting worse. Maybe he is metamorphizing from his campaign fifth grader level down to pre-school level. I'm not sure how much longer the people and other politicians are going to tolerate this grammar school yard bully destroying our country to enrich himself, his cronies, his family and apparently even the Russians In recalcitrance, due to his juvenile behavior and total lack of integrity, this series of puzzles was created. In times past I used humor to get past grisly and extremely unpleasant incidents. So apparently my personal disgust with his behavior has caused me to also evolve back to my past. Be forewarned, this series of puzzles is definitely not appropriate for kids, juveniles, many Republicans or any Trump supporters. The topic was chosen because it is the most popular currently trending news across the globe. The Trump Puzzle Series is meant to kick off a new web site, http: //puzzletrends.com. The site designed to host puzzle contests online with paid prizes for winners. The puzzle types being considered are: * Labyrinths (the major portion of this book) * Anagrams * Rebuses * Crosswords * Word Cross, also known as word search * Possibly more, depending on interest and input The labyrinths or mazes have letters placed along the pathways. Those letters form quotes, paraphrases and some of my personal thoughts of our current president and his cronies. Anagrams are cryptic little phrases having letters that can be recombined to form a new sentence. Rebuses are a combination of pictures and letters. You need to add or subtract letters which when appropriately combined form a sentence. Crossword puzzles are just what you would expect. The Word Crosses ( more likely known as word search, but unfortunately that phrase is currently copyrighted ) present a large matrix of letters arranged is such a fashion as to include all of the listed words. Some may be backwards or diagonal, but you can count on the words being in order and in a straight line. I hope you have as much fun solving these puzzles as I did creating them. You should also know that the Puzzle Trend folks are considering creating a giant annual puzzle, which could possibly use content from this book. If you feel up to a super challenge, get the details at the website. The annual puzzle conglomeration will be designed to be very difficult and only tenacious super sleuthing sorts need participate. But it is FREE to try, so check it out. Input constructive criticisms and helpful feedback at the website. http: //puzzletrends.com. Trump supporters, please don't waste your time there. Probably anything you input will cause me to think less of you.
