    È l'alba del 26 luglio 1755, quando Giacomo Casanova viene svegliato nel sonno e condotto ai Piombi: non conoscerà mai la ragione di quell'arresto, né quale pena debba scontare e sarà proprio il silenzio del tribunale a seminare nei pensieri di Casanova il dubbio di una condanna a vita e far maturare l'idea di un'evasione. La fuga rocambolesca deciderà il destino di Casanova, allora trentenne, che non potendo far ritorno nella Repubblica di Venezia, raggiungerà Parigi dove avrà inizio la sua nuova vita.
