Your next best friend, Caddie, has arrived!SECOND EDITION, previously released as The Alpha Ladies SeriesPutting your life together again after a horrific time in your life isn't easy, but with the help of new friends, a new degree with exciting jobs lined up and a tall handsome man, it helps. But sometimes it takes more to find that last piece that makes your heart and soul heal. But fear and uncertainty keep me from looking into the past so I can have my future. Book Four Excerpt: He snorted in his sleep and my whole body screamed out in fear...my eyes closed at the impending assault but none came. The mattress lifted as he turned onto his back. His breaths deepened in his drunken sleep. I needed to get away...had to get away. This could be my only chance. I was sure my friends were out looking for me and had probably already called the police but I couldn't wait. I needed to go now while he was asleep. If they came and he woke before they could rescue me...what would he do to me? I had to leave now. I took a deep breath to gather internal strength and calm my shattered nerves. I slid one leg off the bed. At only 5 feet tall, my leg was too short to even touch the floor but it dangled in the air and waited. I counted his breaths and waited for him to move again. At 36 he rolled onto his side away from me. I rolled at the same time and quietly fell off the bed. I froze waiting for him to explode...to yell that I wasn't doing what he told me to...to grab my long blonde hair and pull me back up on the bed but his breathing was the only thing I heard. The door was on the other side of the room so I very slowly crawled on the floor around the foot of the bed. I stared at him...waiting for any indication that he was waking up. Half of me wanted to get back on the bed in fear...the other half wanted me to run in fear. My body trembled...I was almost at the door so I slowly rose. My hand touched the cold metal of the handle, my eyes still staring at him, I turned the knob...there was a grinding of metal against metal from inside the mechanism. I held my breath, trembled, and his eyes opened. They were angry and terrifying.
Third in THE EVA JENNINGS FILES: Previously released as The Alpha Series: SECOND EDITION"I like your red lace panties today." My blood ran cold and I suddenly started shivering. The eyes behind the camera bored into my back. ---My dreams are coming true. Within a year of buying an advertising agency, I'm pitching a job that could put the company on the map. Just before the meeting, I receive a mysterious note that indicates I'm being watched in my own home. It's terrifying enough to make me call one of my best friends for help. It leads to danger and romance. Book 3 Excerpt: "I'm going to call you in twenty minutes and ask which dress you said I could borrow," Eva said. "If someone is listening or watching your dressing room or apartment then that will give me a reason for being there. I will be sweeping for any listening or video device while I am there.""OK," I said nervously. "Did you call the police?""No, you didn't want them involved because of the business. I understand that so we'll keep it as contained as we can. I got you, Della." She said firmly."I know, but I feel so violated...sick to my stomach.""No one is going to hurt you on my watch, Love." "I keep thinking of Caddie and what she went through. I don't even want to go to my car.""Vince is on his way to check out your car. Just stay in your office until he gets to you there.""Is he literally coming to my office or just to the garage?""He will come to your office if your car is clear and walk you to the garage.""Eva, am I overreacting?" I was near tears as I stared out the window."Did you put the note in your laptop?""Of course not.""Then you're not overreacting. I'll call you in a few minutes, Della.""Thanks, Eva."I ended the call and continued to stare out the window. I heard a tap on my door but didn't turn. Jillian and Eric would be the only ones to tap and if I didn't respond they would guard the door and wouldn't let anyone disturb me. I stared and waited for her call. It seemed like forever before my phone chimed."Eva?""Which dress did you say I could borrow?""Any damn dress you want," I tried to laugh but it came out more of a sob."I like the blue one," She said with a very calming voice."Did you find anything?" I closed my eyes to hold in the tears that had suddenly risen."Yes, Love, the blue one it is.""Oh, Eva..." The tears started to roll down my cheeks. I've always been a strong person but the thought of someone watching me in my own home was too much.
THE EVA JENNINGS FILES: Beautiful Spanish Kendall wants her husband back, but at what cost?---Eleven months ago, I was divorced from the only man I will ever love. I didn't want it and it nearly destroyed me. My son and daughter were the only reason I survived. After three years apart, my ex-husband reconciles with his sister, Angie, and she pressures me into showing him that I still love him. My attempts result in a kidnapping, a wild chase, and a threat to my children's lives.Book Seven Excerpt: I felt like I had been slapped...my eyes went back to Clint as a hand went over my stomach. He and Angie had reconnected? "We talked things through a couple of weeks ago when her horses were stolen." He said with a flat tone. He bought a ranch and reconnected with his sister...meeting the twins. The pieces of his life were being put together. It's what I tried to help him with but, instead, it destroyed my life. I wasn't sure if my shaking legs were going to support me so I slowly lowered myself to sit on the top step. "Aunt Angie wants us to come over tomorrow since it's Labor Day and we don't have school." Mak was nearly dancing up and down the steps. "Here is her card, she said to call her." "Sure...you can..." I stared at the card she had shoved in my hand without really seeing it. "No," Rico laughed. "She wants YOU and us to come over and have breakfast...no lunch...no...""Brunch!" Mak finished for him. "And the boys have a big dirt track outside for cars and she said I could bring mine." Rico ran in the house. Angie invited me to her house? But was that allowed in a divorce? I turned back to Clint...my mind still trying to grasp reality. My body was still tingling. "Is it OK?" I asked hesitantly. "What?" He frowned. Where was that happy man from just minutes ago? "My going...there to..." I stuttered. "I don't care what you do." He said gruffly with a glare. Another slap...my jaw dropped in shock and the tears instantly filled my eyes. I could feel my breath shaking. He didn't care. That's right...he was my ex-husband...he wasn't supposed to care. Then why did it hurt so much that he said it?
SECOND IN THE SERIESSECOND EDITION: In Book One, Eva introduced our friends and now Fynn begins their stories.Fynn's Story: When I was young, I knew what I wanted and had a plan to get there...then I met my ex-husband. He derailed my life. I've just been existing with unappreciative bosses and an inconsiderate boyfriend. As life passes me by, I've been raising my twelve-year-old daughter the best I can. At the oddest moment, I realize that this life is not what I want for her. Something has to change, so I gather the strength and make that call to get my life back on track. Book Two Excerpt: "You know they have signals to each other?" I asked Eva as I stood at the bathroom mirror fixing my hair for dinner."Yeah, I noticed that too." She stepped out of the shower. "But, then again, so do we.""True, but we have a good reason...what could their reason be?""Right now, I'm not sure. It's like they don't want anyone to know their personal lives...like they are trying to be incognito.""Travis said they come out here once a month during the summer...so other people here know them.""Well, let's go that direction." She disappeared into the bedroom."What do you mean?""I haven't had a chance to ask any of the employees here about them. So I'll start working on that.""What do you want me to do?""Wear these..." She walked in holding a little piece of blue lace."Those?" I raised a brow."Wear these panties, this matching bra, and the white and blue flowered dress.""Oh, pretty!" I eagerly took the panties from her and slid them on then looked in the mirror in disappointment. "They don't cover my butt!"Eva roared in laughter. "They aren't supposed to! They hug the top which emphasizes the roundness of the bottom. I wiggled my hips, "These are sexy...I've never worn anything like them.""Put the bra on."It felt like Christmas, I was so excited. The bra lifted my boobs and slightly pushed them together. They looked extremely plump."Damn!" Eva grinned in agreement, "It's almost a shame to hide those boobs and butt cheeks.""This is so fun." My eyes sparkled as I looked at my image in the mirror. The lacy blue panties and bra were the sexiest things I had ever worn.

THE EVA JENNINGS FILES: (Second Edition)Previously released as The Alpha LadiesQuinn is the toughest attorney in town, but past secrets and mistakes threaten her future. I am a highly respected and feared attorney. With the help of my father, I've spent all my life focusing on that dream. When he falls ill, I make a somewhat psychotic, frantic attempt of giving him a grandchild before he passes so he knows there will be more than just me to carry on his name. As my due date nears, secrets from the past haunt me and I reach out to a business acquaintance, Eva Jennings, to help me set right what I have done so wrong.Book Nine Excerpt: Eva laughed, "You are stunning, Quinn. You have the pregnancy glow about you." She followed me into the office then closed the door behind us. "You can't even tell you're pregnant from behind." "Maybe I should stand backwards to the mirror," I grinned and sat behind my desk and leaned back to give the baby lots of room. My office was large with a small conference table to the left of me and two chairs and a couch to the right. I also had my own private restroom which has come in quite handy the last couple months. "How far along are you?" She sat in the chair across from me and crossed those long legs that were encased in skinny jeans and knee-high boots. Her blue shirt under the black vest made her eyes even bluer. Damn, she made me feel fat. "Forty weeks...or eight and a half months; I'm due November eleventh." "Eleven, eleven..." She smiled. "Lucky numbers?" I huffed internally and raised my brows. "Well, let's hope so." Her eyes narrowed slightly. "What does that mean? Is something wrong with the baby?" Wow, she was quick; almost on the mark. "Not the baby; me." I sighed and relaxed back into the chair. Her head tilted and lips opened slightly in a worried gasp. "Quinn? What's wrong?" She leaned forward and placed her arms on top of the desk. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I had to keep calm for the baby. The doctor kept reinforcing how bad my stress was for him or her. After a few deep calming breathes, I opened my eyes and saw her watching me intently. "This is the first time I am saying this out loud...or even talking...well, admitting this to anyone." I paused. "This conversation stays between us.""Absolutely," She nodded firmly. I sat up as best as I could, "Eva, this is huge to me...highly confidential. No one else can know until I'm ready.""Quinn, you can trust me with anything. I'll be here for you." We stared into each other's eyes a moment until my heart told me to believe her."OK," I nodded and relaxed back into the chair. "I'm not proud of this...at all. The only good thing about what I am about to tell you is this baby." I lay my hand over my enlarged abdomen. She leaned back, crossed her legs again and watched me intently.
THE EVA JENNINGS FILES: We first met Hannah in book #3. The mouse in the corner, Hannah, comes to life in Book Nine of the series.I am a computer geek working for a detective in the local law enforcement office. When my eyesight declines to the point I can't see a monitor, I am put on leave. My prayers are answered when I am suddenly given a second chance on life with one condition; take that life and live it to the fullest. I intend to keep that promise. In the middle of the night, I am called by a private detective to help in a desperate search in a kidnapping. What happens next opens up an opportunity in life I never thought could happen, but also threatens to reveal my past that I have worked so hard to keep hidden. Hannah Book Eight Excerpt: A siren echoed through the house. My heart jumped to my throat as my eyes stared at Eva's suddenly anxious ones. "What the hell is that?" She asked. "Ethan!" I gasped and ran past her to the garage and flung open the door. Lucy wasn't there. "Where's Lucy?" I asked as I turned and ran back through the house to my computer room. Eva was right behind me. "What about Ethan? Nick has Lucy. We thought you'd be sleeping this morning." I jumped on my ball chair and my fingers were flying over the keyboard and mouse. "I have an alert tracking certain code words on the police scanners and if Ethan is hurt or in trouble the siren goes off." "What the hell? Did you have this on him when he was shot?" She asked. "I didn't know him then...I met him right after he returned to duty." She looked over my shoulder. "What's the matter with him?" I have five large monitors and the message appeared on the middle one. We both leaned in to read it. "He's been detained..." I whispered. "For...drug possession?" Eva said incredulously. "No fucking way." I clicked more and my head turned to the far-right monitor, Eva's followed. "What...?" She began to say when a video feed popped up on the monitor showing an empty grey room with just a table with two chairs on each side of it. "It's the interrogation room at the station," I said and turned back to the middle monitor and began typing. I read the messages coming through. "Damn it, call me," I muttered. "Who?" Eva asked. "Burrows...if he doesn't, I need to talk to Vince and ask if I can go in the grey area...this one makes my gut hurt." "Mine too...I'll call Vince. There is no way that Ethan is doing drugs." "Eva," I whispered with dread. "They are saying he was selling them."
THE EVA JENNINGS FILES: Iris was introduced in Book One of the series. Now, it's time to learn her side of the story. I have found myself suddenly absorbed into my ex-husband's life which includes a dozen new friends. He and I have hidden a secret for the last two years. When I tell him I have begun having nightmares, he asks his private detective girlfriend, Eva, for help. Although it causes a rift between the two, she agrees to help but I am terrified that what she finds will forever cost me my son.Book Ten Excerpt: "You know what we do," Eva glared at him. "Why didn't you ask for our help before now?" Lane stared at her a moment then sighed, "Because I wasn't completely sure until now. I had my doubts, I didn't believe it, but I wasn't really sure.""And what has changed your mind?" Eva asked. Her clenched jaw, flared nostrils, and narrowed eyes made it pretty easy to tell she wasn't happy with him. "Because she just told me she has started having dreams about it or nightmares," He answered without hesitation. "I don't believe she would if she truly did it." There was silence again. "I agree," Scott said. "Me too," Everyone but Eva said and my body melted against Skylar as the relief ran through me. Eva was the only one that hadn't spoken. "Eva?" I said softly and she turned intense blue eyes to me that made my breath catch. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. This could be my last chance. "I don't know what happened, but I do know I love my son and I would do nothing to hurt him...ever. I don't believe I did it." I stood away from Skylar and straightened my shoulders and with the most determined, strong voice I'd had in two years I spoke. "I DID NOT set that fire but I don't know what happened." She stared at me a moment then nodded her head. "I believe you," She said and turned to Lane. "I'll call Vince and talk to him."She turned without another word or without looking at anyone and walked down the hall to the office. She firmly shut the door behind her.
It started with Eva and now we have our next best friend Belinda. ---I was widowed when my son was three; he's now fourteen. We have lived a quiet life...until now. Thanks to my wonderful group of friends, my new business is taking shape and my son has invited a houseguest to stay with us. Not just any houseguest...but one that makes my heart race. My son sees him as a father figure, which is a bit unnerving because the last thing I want is my son hurt. But when an adventure with Eva doesn't go as expected, I'm the one that may get him hurt.Book Five Excerpt: "Pam?" Eva asked."Yes," She nodded. Her brown eyes looked anxious as she sat up straighter and looked between the two of us. "I was only expecting one person.""My name is Eva, and this is my associate Belinda." Eva said without explaining why two of us were there. We sat on each side of her; Eva could see the front door and I could see nearly all the patrons in the café. The waitress brought the coffee then she and Eva chatted for a few minutes about the weather and suggestions for breakfast. I had the feeling Eva was trying to give Pam some time to relax. I read the menu as they talked and glanced at Pam and gave her a calming, sweet smile. Her shoulders lowered as she took a deep breath. Eva's resounding laugh drew my attention back to her just as the waitress laughed and tossed her hands in the air at something Eva had said. Seriously...nerves of steel my friend has. But I could tell the laughter made Pam relax even more as she took a drink of water. "This one wants a big plate of French fries and a diet coke," The waitress pointed at Eva and grinned at me. "You want the same?""Oh, no!" I gasped with a laugh. "My hips don't need that! I'll go with your fruit plate and wheat toast."The waitress chuckled and looked at Pam, "Fries or fruit for you?"All four of us laughed. Eva had done an excellent job of relaxing the accuser."I'll be adventurous and go for the fries too." Pam smiled. Still a little stiff but her facial muscles had relaxed."Hell of a breakfast!" The waitress laughed and turned back to the kitchen."Oh, she's funny," Eva chuckled and sighed as she relaxed back in her chair. We were quiet a moment; all not sure how to get this started so I just blurted out. "What are you getting your degree in?""Biology with an emphasis in botany." She answered with a slight blush."That's my degree!" I exclaimed. Until our food arrived, we discussed the different classes and job opportunities. She didn't mention Professor Brackston and neither did I. Once the food arrived, when she wasn't talking, Pam devoured the French fries. It was as if she hadn't eaten in weeks. I noticed the man behind her turn and look at her...or actually glare at her. As the conversation continued I watched him in my peripheral vision. He continued his glaring looks and at one point he moved slightly toward her and opened his mouth as if to speak. When he saw me looking at him, he turned away quickly and nearly buried his face in the newspaper. I could see the redness rise up his neck and into his face. What the hell was that about?

THE EVA JENNINGS FILES: Previously released as The Alpha Ladies SeriesOur best friend's stories continue with horse rancher, Angie Sodero, searching for her stolen horses with the clinic veterinarian...the one that ditched her on their date. She wants nothing to do with him, but would not turn down his help when it comes to her horses. ---For three years I have dealt with the loss of my beloved father, the loss of the father of my twins before they were born, and bringing my small premature sons home. My siblings were forcing me to sell our family ranch and my twin's grandparents were suing for custody. With the help of my best friends Eva and Della, I made it through; my sons are happy and healthy and I am slowly getting my performance horse business moving forward. Then I receive a phone call from the most unlikely of people alerting me to the fact three of my horses were stolen. We race together in a desperate search to find them before they disappear forever. Book 6 Excerpt: "I'm sorry to call so early, but I had to double-check.""Double-check what?""Did you sell Pappy?""Of course not," I shook my head in disbelief. What a stupid question."Angie, I have a horse here that I know is Pappy. He has the scar down the back of his leg from the accident last year.""Travis..." I sighed in irritation."Angie, I've checked all the photos in his file and online at his old competition photos. The brand is the same. The horse in my clinic is Pappy," He said vehemently."I left Pappy, Zypher, and Bella in the lower corral last night.""Just a second," he said. As I walked to the barn, my phone alerted me to a message. "I just sent you a picture of the horse.""Fine," I put the phone on speaker then checked the message. I stopped in my tracks as an image of Pappy in the clinic stall appeared. My stomach ached. "What the hell is he doing there?""I knew it was him. There is a family here that brought him in for a vet check.""What?" I gasped."They said they bought him this morning and were bringing him in to get checked before they took him to Seattle."I ran to my truck. "They stole him.""They showed me the bill of sale.""I would never sell Hank's horse!" I started the engine and hit the gas pedal and flew out of the driveway with a quick glance at the twins standing with a startled Drake."I didn't think you would.""It'll take me a minute to get to the corral to check on the other two." My heart raced at the thought of my Bella being stolen. This couldn't really be happening. I held my breath as I crested the hill and it released in an angry growl when I saw the empty corrals."Son of a bitch!" Tears rose and my skin tingled. "Do they have Bella and Zypher?""No, just Pappy.""Call the police, I'm on my way there."

THE EVA JENNINGS FILES: INTRODUCING EVA, tells the story of the predominate lady detective who will be in each book. (Previously released as The Alpha Ladies Series. I decided not to stop once finishing the alphabet so it was time to change the series name)SECOND EDITION "I smiled at his description and thought of all my friends. We were all strong women; some of them just didn't know it yet." Eva's story: "I'll take care of you." No one had said those words to me in years. I take care of other people. I love to help people, but not in the usual way. I do research and footwork for two detective and private security agencies. Over the years, I have met some interesting and wonderful people. Some of those people have become my closest friends. Others? Well, let's just say they've gotten exactly what they deserved. But when I wake up drugged and confused, I'm suddenly the one in the need of help.Book One Excerpt: "Where in the hell have you been?" She screamed into the phone."Hanging out," I answered flatly. It always pissed her off when I remained calm while she yelled."You were supposed to call me this morning and it's almost noon!""Yeah, it is," A slight smile escaped since I knew my non-combative answer would irritate her."Sometimes, I really hate you.""I know," I chuckled and slid up in the seat enough to see we were pulling into the hotel parking lot. My mind flashed to a door...115; must be the room number. I had a hidden pocket in my bag that I always put my key in so no one could steal it. I slid my fingers into the pocket and sighed in relief when I felt the hard plastic."Did you find the redhead or not?" Paulie growled. My mind flashed to a plate of fries at the diner. I concentrated, trying to hold onto the image. Who was sitting next to me? Was it a redhead? I turned my head as if it would help. The image faded. "Damn.""What's the matter?" she grumbled."Nothing, I haven't found him yet.""Her!" Paulie screeched."Oh, seriously, Paulie," I laughed to cover my mistake. "You really can't take a joke."The line went dead. I huffed a sigh and slid the phone back into my bag."Did you see a red-headed woman last night?" I asked looking up into Lane's concerned eyes."There wasn't anyone there besides you."I lowered back down on the seat. "Drive around the side so no one sees me get out of your truck.""Do you think that's really necessary?"I looked up at him with a frown, "Someone drugged me last night. I have no idea why and it gives me the creeps to think what might have happened if you hadn't found me first. I don't want you to become a target if they see us together." He nodded and did as I asked. When I reached for the door handle, I hesitated and look back at him. "I'm going in to change.""What if they are in the hotel?" "Meet me at the diner in 30 minutes. If I'm not there come back here, room 115.""Shouldn't I go in there with you?" I looked into his dark brown eyes and smiled, then looked at the button of his jeans and shook my head. "It would take longer than 30 minutes if you went in there with me."

Rescue or Recover is the thirteenth book in The Tagger Herd series and the second to feature Matt Tagger. But after months of planning they finally take a break from it all and head to Billings, Montana for the horse auction. There are surprises at every turn; including an unexpected and very unwanted visit from the past.____________________Matt sprinted down the last 50 yards of sidewalk that led him back to the hotel. He slowed down enough to carefully maneuver between the trucks and cars of the parking lot then stopped in front of the hotel doors. Jogging in place, he waited for a group of people to exit before he could enter. Matt smiled politely at the group as they walked by him and received an extra big smile from the last young woman in line. He chuckled inside. That always made him feel better. As the lady stepped away from the door, Matt looked past her and straight into Elena's eyes; she was only 30 feet away. He stopped jogging and stared at her in disbelief that she was actually there. Slowly, he pulled the head phones out of his ears. She had a surprised look on her face, then she tilted her head, narrowed her eyes, and her lips turned into a sinister grin. It was a look of knowing...of dislike...it was ominous of what was to come. Matt took a step towards her and she took a step back. He walked faster causing her to turn and run. She quickly disappeared around the corner of the building. When he walked around the corner she was closing the door of a small red car. The engine fired to life as their eyes met. An evil smile spread across her face.
