Welcome back to the journey. The journey of Writology! Writology takes you, the reader, on a chronological journey of evolutionary writing. Using all original creations, the author showcases how writing does not happen overnight. Just as coals turn into diamonds, so too does writing take time to become polished to perfection.Volumes II and III continues the journey by collecting his Freshmen and Sophmore years of high school level works. Volume II encompasses early attempts at research works and a brief flirt of a spirtiual quest. Volume III, considered to be the richest part of the entire planned Writologist Series (by the author himself) truly establishes writing becoming a core passion for H.A. Calahan. As with Volume I, these collected volumes contain original sketches and artwork created by the author. Accented with author commentary.Several suggested exercises based on original assignments or creations are also included to help readers continue their own journey. This journey continues now!
This vintage book is a complete and accessible guide to sailing. Designed especially for the 'landlubber', this volume provides just enough information to enable anyone to take out a small boat and bring her back safely. ¿Learning to Sail¿ has been carefully selected for a modern readership, and would make for a worthy addition to collections of related literature. Contents include: ¿What It's All About¿, ¿The Selection of a Boat¿, ¿Type of Boat for Beginner¿, ¿About the Cat-Boat¿, ¿The Mooring¿, ¿Acquiring a Vocabulary¿, ¿Looking Her Over¿Preliminary Warnings¿, ¿Three Useful Knots¿, ¿Bending and Hoisting Sail¿, ¿Reefing¿, ¿The Theory of Sailing¿, ¿Before the Wind¿, ¿Sailing to Windward¿, ¿Reaching¿, etc. Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in an affordable, high-quality edition complete with a specially commissioned new introduction on sailing. This book was first published in 1945.
Welcome to the third installment of the Writology series. The Return! Writology takes you, the reader on a journey of chronological and evolutionary writing. Volume IV "The Return", collected in this book, contains all the junior year high school works of the author. There is a self-imposed journal collection and many informational essays. All of which lay the ground work for Volume V: FinalMarks. As with previous volumes, the author provides original artwork and commentary along the way. There is a bonus never before seen "Civil War Sketch Diary" based on a mock Civil War battle experienced by the school circa 1996-1997. It concludes, as do all previous volumes with an exercise appendix based on either original assignments or the creations themselves. The journey started "bashfully" with time warps and love ants. It was continued with a petition, many "letters" and a RainBear. Geologic findings and "impressionism" continue the journey; the journey continues now!
