Sam and Lindi decide to see what Ouma does with her rubbish. She does not put her rubbish in the correct recycling bins and she throws rubbish in the street. Sam hands her a bag full of the rubbish she has dropped, she tosses it in the glass recycling bin.
A digger digs trenches for new pipes. The children find an old broken plate with a gold edge and each take a piece home. He confesses that he buried the plate in the field after he broke it, because he was too scared to tell his wife.
Lindi and Spike see a snake slither into the Vilakazis' garden and alert everyone in the neighbourhood about the snake which becomes a huge commotion. At the end it turns out to be a small, harmless mole snake.
Layla decides to start a band. The children don't have any instruments. She finds a whole lot of scrap and hands it out. Nuha shows them how to make music with the scrap. The children are making a noise and Kevin allows them to practise at his workshop.
All the people from the neighbourhood are invited to watch the soccer match on the new TV. While everyone is watching the soccer match, the electricity goes off. Mr Patel invites everyone to watch the rest of the match at his shop, where he connects the TV to his generator.
