Thinner in 30 days from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Clean 20.
It may come as a surprise to many that the subject of diet and temperance in eating and drinking in relation to spirituality is one of the missing links that God designed to be a protection for us from unnecessary pain and suffering. Do not take this for granted. Do not ignore it. Our lives here on earth and our eternal destinies to a large degree hinges on this subject. The goal of this publication is to alert the world and the church to the trap that Satan has set for everyone and to warn all about the dangers of intemperance in eating and drinking as found in the Bible. It does not cover all the Bible texts dealing with intemperance and the indulgence of appetite, but you will find that it does cover major texts dealing with the subject. You will find many interesting and riveting gems of thought that you may have never known before, as I discovered when writing this book. The Word of God is filled with so much treasure that one can never exhaust it, so as you read and study, may you experience the joy that comes from getting to know and practice true temperance. The Bible offers the answers to our most difficult and pressing questions. The Scriptures clear up any doubts we may have as to why we get sick. We are not left to struggle to combat sicknesses and diseases without the aid of the greatest medical Book the world has ever seen. This Book is the Bible. The principles of health contained in it will surely make us healthy and wise unto salvation if we will observe them.
A mysterious man appears in a town in the desert. An offer that seems too good to be true. A past dredged in blood and betrayal, waiting for the right moment to come to light. It seems that the right moment was just around the corner. Being full-time investigators and part-time treasure hunters, Saul and Rosemary made a pretty good team, a fact that made the million-dollar offer that came to their door that day seem all the more tempting. Little did they know, however, that this job would push Saul to the very limit, and put the duo into a situation bigger than either of them.
The subject of temperance in diet is one that demands our attention and is the means of saving us from a thousand troubles that lurk all around. Living temperate lives requires sacrifice which most people are not willing to give. However, if strict temperance is observed, it will serve as a protection instead of a restriction. When temperance in eating and drinking is viewed as a blessing instead of a restriction, it becomes easier for us to make healthier choices in our diet. Adding life to our years is far better than adding years to our lives. We do not want to live a long and miserable life, full of doctor's visits, but we want to live a long life where our lives are full of life, vigor, and health. It is possible if we deny ourselves of health-destroying practices and lifestyles.

Ever wondered how to overcome sin? Do you feel like giving up Christianity? You need not despair. There is hope. In fact, the Bible offers you the answer to all of life's problems. One of the greatest questions ever asked is, "how does a man gain the victory over every sin and how can man be perfect in God's eyes? There is no need to panic. The way to and of salvation has been made plain in the Word of God.There are many who conclude that it is impossible to live a righteous and holy life. However, we are not only commanded to do so, but Jesus supplies the strength and power to overcome sin in all its forms. The truth about victory over sin is one of the world's best kept secrets that Satan has kept hidden in the dark. If men would believe that it is possible that sin can be overcome, believe in Jesus who paid the price for their sins, and trust in Him to live out His perfect life of holiness in them, they would experience lasting satisfaction and fulfillment in their lives. They would live life to the fullest with the expectation of receiving eternal life when Jesus comes the second time."I have set the Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt Thou suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." Psalm 16:8-11.The content of this book is designed to clear up misunderstandings about Christian perfection and how we become righteous, holy, and perfect. It offers the wonderful possibilities of living a life of peace, happiness, and joy, and at last enter into heaven and eternal life with an everlasting future of never-ending bliss when Jesus comes back the second time.
The 1880's and the 1980's collide in a series of reluctant adventures; a riveting tale of introversion, retroversion, and excursion. You'll enjoy this story of a childhood far from civilization, where running water and electricity have been replaced with hard work and fire; and the simple act of bathing is a dreaded chore. Read about Grey - a boy growing up in the remote mountains of Washington State, along the Canadian border. His family abandoned the land of southern California to get back to nature; and their life on the mountain is a throwback to a long-lost era. Grey's itch for stability is continually interrupted by the uncommon experiences of their pioneer-style existence. Clean mountain air, fresh water from underground springs, and wild animals are the hallmarks of a rare childhood in the early 1980's.
A true story of dedication to sharing the Gospel and bringing written language to an isolated community. This is part of the story of George and Helen Hart, missionaries and language translators, who worked during the last half of the 20th century in Peru, specifically with the Chayahuita people group (now known as Shawi), to preserve their language in written form, and to translate the Bible into their language as well as make writing their language accessible to those within an outside their community. "Not In Vain" presents the answers to two basic questions. One is: "what was God's purpose for George and Helen Hart?" The other: "how did God fulfill that purpose in their lives?" This biography contains interviews from those who worked with the Hart family, as well as family members themselves, and focuses on what God did through these, and the many people their lives touched.
Creating business value is not easy. The facts are sobering: Out of 27.3m US enterprises, 26.7m are employing less than 20 people and only 5,000 to 10,000 US enterprises are selling out for $10m or more each year. That's a 1 in 6,000 chance. Therefore, I ask you, are you sure you are increasing business value? Operational tips are needed more than ever. After nearly 100 blog posts of The Smith Report-and many requests for a compilation--I decided to bring these one-page business tutorials together in one place and in a sequence that makes sense. This dark two-act comedy deals with the last hours of Herod the Great. Rome has kept him in power for 30 years. Behind him, a string of murders: his rivals, his colleagues, his family: even sons and a beloved wife. And there was that incident at Bethlehem whose memory won't go away. His legacy is hatred, madness and hopelessness. Can anyone truly care about him?Can he end his days with any ray of hope?Tottering through his last hours, the larger-than-life figure of one of history's great tyrants is at the centre of this black comedy that explores morality, significance and, of all things, love and mercy. Having destroyed almost all his relationships, Herod now fights his inner demons and outward foes to the very end and finds a surprising victory.
At last, someone has written a new style of travel book!OK, so you decide to walk to Rome from your home in London. What would your ideal route look like? The most direct path, perhaps? The one that everyone uses and is easy to follow? Not so for Alison and Ian. Their preferred route had to pass through Lourdes, so the final path took a minor detour of a thousand miles. What could possibly go wrong?Well, apart from the odd forest fire, the disappearing paths, the lack of way marking and loss of maps and, of course, a lot of steep hills, it turned out to be a breeze.Thankfully, this odd couple decided to provide us with their amazing record of the journey across England, France and Italy. It has already been called a total immersion experience of modern pilgrimage, but it is much more than that. It is a journey that will draw you in and entrance you so much you will not even stop to ask yourself why you have packed your rucksack and put your walking shoes on. Just remember to take your door keys with you when you go - even pilgrims have to return home eventually. But whether you go or stay, you will be looking out for the book of their next adventures!
Race may dominate everyday speech, media headlines and public policy, yet still questions of racialized blackness and whiteness in Shakespeare are resisted. In his compelling new book Ian Smith addresses the influence of systemic whiteness on the interpretation of Shakespeare's plays. This far-reaching study shows that significant parts of Shakespeare's texts have been elided, misconstrued or otherwise rendered invisible by readers who have ignored the presence of race in early modern England. Bringing the Black American intellectual tradition into fruitful dialogue with European thought, this urgent interdisciplinary work offers a deep, revealing and incisive analysis of individual plays, including Othello, The Merchant of Venice and Hamlet. Demonstrating how racial illiteracy inhibits critical practice, Ian Smith provides a necessary anti-racist alternative that will transform the way you read Shakespeare.
This is a sequel to the book ¿Programming the Boundary Element Method¿ by G. Beer published by Wiley in 2001. The scope of this book is different however and this is reflected in the title. Whereas the previous book concentrated on explaining the implementation of a limited range of problems into computer code and the emphasis was on programming, in the current book the problems covered are extended, the emphasis is on explaining the theory and computer code is not presented for all topics. The new topics covered range from dynamics to piezo-electricity. However, the main idea, to provide an explanation of the Boundary Element Method (BEM), that is easy for engineers and scientists to follow, is retained. This is achieved by explaining some aspects of the method in an engineering rather than mathematical way. Another new feature of the book is that it deals with the implementation of the method on parallel processing hardware. I. M. Smith, who has been involved in programming the finite element method for decades, illustrates that the BEM is ¿embarrassingly parallelisable¿. It is shown that the conversion of the BEM programs to run efficiently on parallel processing hardware is not too difficult and the results are very impressive, such as solving a 20 000 element problem during a ¿coffee break¿.
This thorough yet understandable introduction to the boundary element method presents an attractive alternative to the finite element method. It not only explains the theory but also presents the implementation of the theory into computer code, the code in FORTRAN 95 can be freely downloaded. The book also addresses the issue of efficiently using parallel processing hardware in order to considerably speed up the computations for large systems. The applications range from problems of heat and fluid flow to static and dynamic elasto-plastic problems in continuum mechanics.
Father O'Brien is a tough Catholic priest with a violent past. He now counsels youth in prison and has a particular interest in two brothers behind bars. He becomes their advocate on the pretext of rehabilitation, visiting them regularly and eventually getting the boys released into his care. DCI Keir Dickson, the man who put these brothers away for eight years, is furious. He sends DS Liam Smith undercover to see what this priest and these ex-cons are up to. It turns out the father has given the boys an intriguing assignment. Every month, they drive a Volvo to an orphanage in Holland with food and clothes, driving a supposedly empty car back into England. The brothers soon realize their car is not empty on the return trip, and this realization puts them in grave danger. Smith, along with the rest of New Scotland Yard, must deduce Father O'Brien's plan and hopefully divert a disaster.

The setup for a shocking murder designed to cover up an even more sinister crime . . . The Blackbird Papers marks the debut of Ian Smith, a major new talent in crime fiction, and of Sterling Bledsoe, his smart and occasionally combative sleuth. World-renowned Dartmouth professor Wilson Bledsoe is returning from a party celebrating his latest honor when he encounters a broken-down pickup on the secluded country road to his home. The next day, the discovery of his body with a vicious racist epithet carved into his chest leads to the quick arrest of two loathsome white supremacists. The local authorities seem ready to accept the case at face value as a racial hate crime. But the murdered professor’s brother, FBI agent Sterling Bledsoe, has inserted himself into the investigation and isn’t ready to buy into this pat solution. A look around his brother’s lab and brief interviews with his students and colleagues pique Sterling’s curiosity about Wilson’s pet project: a nearly completed paper on the mysterious deaths of hundreds of local blackbirds. Fast-paced and cleverly constructed, The Blackbird Papers introduces a major new voice in mystery and crime fiction.
