Jacqueline Mitchell is an Author, Speaker and Life Coach. She is the founder of Jakoba Consulting LLC, and the creator of the program titled, Healing The Hidden Things, focusing on Mental Wellness. The program was developed out of her own personal traumatic experiences and her desire to Heal and to share that knowledge with others. Currently, a senior in college, completing her bachelor's degree in psychology with an area of focus on Human Services and Addictions. Jacqueline believes that combining her personal experience with the science behind healing and recovery will empower her to expand her audience, thus helping more people to Heal from Trauma. When she is not facilitating her workshops, speaking, or studying you can find her singing as the lead singer/songwriter for the local band, RETRO. She has been a member for over ten years, writing, recording, and performing original music. Over fifteen years ago I started doing research and self-educating, I needed to understand the 'Why' behind what was happening to me. Overtime, all that research developed into a Workbook and that workbook is now a Workshop. What I bring is over 15 years of living this journey. All the Experience, Wisdom, Knowledge and Techniques that I have acquired and applied. I know it works! My approach is to focus on the Healing process and how to Manage this journey over time. This book is a compilation of 3 in 1. It is written as a stand-alone workbook allowing the reader to receive the benefits of the workshop by simply following the commentary and instructions. In addition, my personal story is woven throughout the book, illuminating my journey and how it relates to the different topics discussed. (Before reading this book I encourage you to have a care-plan in place. I share information that could be a trigger.) Healing Is a Journey. The purpose of the workshop is to Enlighten, Educate and Empower. The target audience includes anyone who may be challenged with anxiety, depression, manic/depressive and PTSD as well as the family, friends and supporters, of those challenged with these conditions.High School, that would be my first memory. Waking up with such a heavy emotion of sadness, hopelessness, no energy, and days where I just stayed in the bed. Sometime around 1993-1994, on my way to class, and just having this feeling of intense fear come over me and being afraid to even leave the house. Not too long after that, I was driving in my car, when my heart started racing, felt like my eyes were wide open, sweating, thoughts were racing. I felt like I was going to die. Even then, I still did not understand what was happening to me. Thus, began my journey of healing.
"Thoughts I've been given" is symbolic of hearing from my Father God in the midst of all that I may face in my life, to hear and write these poems; but to know that our thoughts are always with us, conscious thoughts and subconscious thoughts, there are other thoughts competing for our attention, good and bad.
If I could leave anything with those who read my story, it would be, Never Give Up! I have had many days where I wanted to quit. Many days that I have cried. Many days where I have been paralyzed by depression and anxiety. For all that, despite my inner voice trying to convince me that I was unworthy of God's love, I Never Ever walked away from Him. I knew He was real, and I wanted to Heal. What I have learned is that your relationship with God is a personal intimate relationship. He interacts with each of us differently. What I mean by this is, it is so important that you grow your relationship such that You can hear Him speak in a 'voice that you understand'. By doing so, you will find His Grace applied to your life exactly where it needs to be to get you exactly where he wants you to be. Not only that, but He will also lead you and teach you what You need to know to Navigate this life. Be prepared to walk alone at times. Be prepared to Encourage yourself. Be prepared to set boundaries for Your well-being. Be prepared to show Yourself Grace. Forgive quickly and make peace within yourself. This is for you not for them. And finally, Healing is Work! It takes time and patience. It is a Journey. Yet, healing is possible.
