It's only through the grace of God that we have any worthwhile standing at all. We are NOT the innocent party here. Jesus is the innocent one. This is not about the unfair scenario of the good suffering. Rather, it is a case of sinful people being forgiven by a loving God. This is why I emphasize that, although this is my privileged spot, it is not my space. God owns it. I just graciously occupy it. Why God? Imagine trusting everyone and everything for something as important as life and eternity. Being that everyone and everything is different, your faith would rise and fall daily depending on who is in charge. There must be a central focus that has control over the ultimate outcome to make your faith valid, and that person is God, through Jesus Christ. It is good to know that since Jesus was nailed to the cross, we are not nailed to our sins. Forgiveness is just a request away. This assures me that "MY SPOT" is continually of God because of his love for me. This is part of my new mercies every morning, and I pray it's the same for you!

I recall numerous times in my ministry when I felt that the circumstances surrounding my life did not reflect the things God had promised me. It seemed the harder I worked, the tougher life became. I would take what appeared to be one step forward and two ... No! ... ten steps back. It was absolutely mindboggling! I was constantly waiting for God to honor His Word. After becoming a pastor, there were many times that my faith, though never shattered, certainly dangled by a thread. Things weren't coming together. This "faith thing" was not sitting well with me, and my situation was nowhere near as horrendous as that of Joseph's. Satan is the master at casting negative reflections upon God. He can generate all types of doubt if you fall prey to his tactics. However, as Joseph must have learned, I deduced that "people of faith" are required to weather the storms that accompany the promises of God. Faith is not determined by your feelings, instead, by your response to God.

Just how much do you know about Jehovah God? Did you know that there are things that God is incapable of doing? Despite the fact that he is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, and the creator of everything, God is governed only by his own power and holy nature. He is perfect in every aspect of his existence. Therefore, he cannot: Fail, Sin, Deceive, Improve. What a marvelous God to serve. Aren't you at least curious about this perfect God? Do you know him personally? Are you like so many others who simply rely on bits and pieces of information from other people? Isn't it time to study the Word of God yourself? The most important question is: Is God a Stranger to You? Open this book and find out! You'll discover answers to questions that have plagued you for too long. By knowing and understanding God better, you "will" live a richer, more fulfilling life ... Guaranteed.

Pastor Gaines takes a realistic look at the elements of prayer. He forces you to look at your prayer life and put it in the proper perspective. He will compel you to seek God in prayer, as he exposes our need to commune with HIM. He will "open your eyes" to realities.

Spiritual growth is fueled by conflict. It's virtually impossible to become stronger without resistance. The spiritual battle that we must fight as Christians is not a choice, but a mandate. We must be knowledgeable and prepared to endure the hardships of Kingdom building. We are assured of victory, however. We fight in the strength of God, as we evolve from "victims" to "victors." Always remember, being in harm's way is essential to our spiritual growth. It promotes our trust in God. It helps us understand our futility in making it on our own. It enhances our faith and builds our character. We often discover important things about ourselves in the midst of our struggle. God is our commanding officer, who loves us dearly. He will keep us in times of travail. He will not leave us alone.
