Shadows of Equity: Unveiling Injustice delves deep into the multifaceted landscape of injustice that plagues our societies. Through a combination of personal narratives, historical accounts, expert analysis, and thought-provoking anecdotes, this book examines the various forms of injustice that persist in different corners of the world. It challenges readers to confront their own biases, reevaluate their perspectives, and take action to create a more equitable future.
Flower. As a noun, it can be a label; as a verb, it can be a request. Jay Walker intends you to use it as both. This collection of Jay's poetry, his third overall, and second with The Merry Blacksmith Press, is an introspective on love, life, politics, poetry & our place in the world. Among the myriad of those who fashion themselves the world's gardeners & try to label you as a weed, Jay invites you to read this book, declare yourself a flower and don't be afraid to bloom.
Jay shares even more relationship wisdom. Does it feel like your man's friends are against you? What should you know about being a wife, before you say "I Do"? Jay provides the answers to these questions and more, and offers new insights.
Take a stroll outside the lines with Providence actor and poet Jason "Jay" Walker, as he zigzags and crisscrosses down Memory Lane, "sifting through" and arranging his early poems, which chronicle his life over twenty years, through high school, college and his involvement with and departure from the local Slam(TM) and poetry scene, in order to recapture the creative spark that drives him. It's two decades of growth, as a poet and a person, marked in meter (and sometimes in rhymes) to show the world and, hopefully, the author that they're not alone.
Jay Walker is reaching out to the world through his poetry, speaking on world issues & reflecting on all the aspects & events of his life & his art. Where I'm Comin' From is not a love letter to Rhode Island; it's a declaration of the status of his emotional journey to the ultimate destination of peace, love & nakedness for all.
Jason E. "Jay" Walker was raised in Cranston, a suburb at the southern border of Providence, RI. He's never been interested in anything but the arts and humanities - entertaining, educating, inspiring, moving, and connecting (with) people - and everything he's done with his life is to pursue his lifelong dream of success in those fields. He was first alternate for the Providence Poetry Slam(TM) team in 1999 and has performed in and/or hosted poetry events throughout the RI area. He's also an established actor in RI independent film and semi-professional theater. He currently lives in Hopedale, MA, but he plans to one day live in warmer climes and travel the world.
