This book offers a critique of common spiritual warfare practices including binding Satan, renouncing curses, spiritual mapping and exorcisms. Using Scripture, and Scripture alone, Pastor Jim Osman shows that true spiritual warfare is not a battle over territory, but a battle for the truth. The book is divided into four sections: Establishing Biblical Principles, Exposing Unbiblical Practices, Explaining Biblical Perspectives and Examining a Biblical Passage. A biblical approach to spiritual warfare recognizes the Bible as the sole authority, rejects unbiblical and man-made methods, and rests in Christ and His finished work for victory. Many in the modern spiritual warfare movement teach a methodology of spiritual warfare that is more akin to something you would find in a Harry Potter novel (renouncing curses and using prayer mantras to seize territory) than anything described in Scripture. Many of these practices reflect a theology built on anecdotes, experience, and interviews with demons rather than a sound exegesis of Scripture. Footnoted quotations of authors like Mark Bubeck, Neil T. Anderson, and others are compared against Scripture to show that modern spiritual warfare "experts" have abandoned the authority of Scripture and opted for man-made methods to wage spiritual battle. The chapters include a study of the three enemies that every Christian faces: the world, the flesh, and the devil. Pastor Osman answers from Scripture the questions: Can a Christian be demon-possessed? Is Christ's authority ours? and, What about exorcisms? One chapter includes a helpful discussion of the link between spiritual warfare and a believer's sanctification. The foreword is written by international conference speaker Justin Peters (justinpeters.org). You can see regular updates at truthorterritory.com.

Why do the wicked prosper? That question has been asked by the redeemed in every age. It seems the more wicked people are, the more they prosper. The righteous suffer affliction while the enemies of God bask in the wealth this world offers. Why is this so? What is God doing through this? Psalm 73 answers these questions in a clear and convicting way.Psalm 73 is a description of one saint's crisis of faith over the prosperity of the wicked. In this study of that Psalm, you will gain a most necessary perspective on the wicked that is sorely lacking in our day. It is a perspective that explains the apparent inequities of this life. In this book, you will journey with Asaph from his crisis of faith through the sanctuary of God and into a confident felicity.
Heaven visitations are all the rage today. A retelling of the sights, sounds, and smells of a supposed trip to Heaven can land an author at the top of the bestseller list and produce enough speaking engagements, morning television appearances, news segments, and interviews on Christian TV and radio to keep him at the top of the bestseller list for quite some time. In this book, author and pastor Jim Osman of Kootenai Community Church examines the claims of Heaven Tourists: Don Piper (90 Minutes in Heaven), Colton and Todd Burpo (Heaven Is for Real) and Eben Alexander (Proof of Heaven). Pastor Osman offers a critical theological critique of their writings and media appearances, comparing their claims to Scripture and to each other. He also examines their stories for internal consistency. He shows that these "eye-witness" testimonies of Heaven are not only self contradictory, but more importantly, they contradict Scripture. Pastor Osman calls upon faithful Christians everywhere to reject these cleverly devised fables and affirm their commitment to the sufficiency of Scripture as God's infallible and final revelation. This book will equip you to expose the errors of the Heaven Tourism industry and to defend the truth of Scripture. By providing critical theological reviews of these three bestsellers, this book helps expose the errors made by ALL those who claim to have visited Heaven. Chapter headings are as follows: Introduction Chapter 1 - A Critical Theological Review of Don Piper's Book 90 Minutes in Heaven Chapter 2 - A Critical Theological Review of Todd Burpo's Book Heaven Is for Real Chapter 3 - A Critical Theological Review of Eben Alexander's Book Proof of Heaven Chapter 4 - Conclusion: The Problems with Heaven Tourism Chapter 5 - Do You Know the True Gospel? Es el autor de Truth or Territory: A Biblical Approach to Spiritual Warfare y Selling the Stairway to Heaven: Critiquing the Claims of Heaven Tourists.
