This series of lessons explores the seasons of the church. Most of us use a calendar to mark our days. It helps us mark the seasons, keep track of important dates and upcoming events. It is essential to our daily lives. But there is another, more specifically, Christian calendar called the liturgical calendar that focuses on different elements of the Christian faith throughout the calendar year. The liturgical calendar doesn't just mark important dates, but helps us prepare and reflect on what those dates represent to millions of Christians around the world. Superhero stories in comic books and movies have been around for more than 75 years. Superhero stories themselves, though, have been around much, much longer. From the Greek myths about demigods and the Bible's own Samson, stories about super-powered heroes have always been a part of human culture. With plenty of action for students and help for teachers, these six lessons help us consider some of the superheroes of comic books, TV, and cinema, and explore what we can learn from them to be better disciples. Lessons are from the perspective of the Reformed tradition.
