Novanglus And Massachusettensis is a collection of political essays written by John Adams and published in 1774 and 1775. The book explores the major points of controversy between Great Britain and its colonies in America during the time leading up to the American Revolution. Adams, a prominent figure in the American Revolution and later the second President of the United States, argues for the rights of the colonies and their independence from British rule. The book is divided into two parts: Novanglus and Massachusettensis. Novanglus contains a series of letters written by Adams under the pseudonym ""Novanglus"" in response to a series of essays written by a loyalist under the pseudonym ""Massachusettensis."" In these letters, Adams defends the colonists' rights and argues against British policies such as the Stamp Act and the Townshend Acts. Massachusettensis, on the other hand, contains a series of essays written by Adams under his own name, in which he further explores the issues of colonial rights and independence. Overall, Novanglus And Massachusettensis is an important historical work that sheds light on the political climate in America leading up to the American Revolution. To Which Are Added A Number Of Letters, Lately Written By President Adams To The Honourable William Tudor; Some Of Which Were Never Before Published. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. ""A Defense of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America, Against the Attack of M. Turgot"" is a political treatise written by John Adams in response to the criticisms made by French economist Anne-Robert-Jacques Turgot on the newly-formed United States government. The book was first published in 1787 and is considered a seminal work of American political philosophy. In the book, Adams defends the American system of government, arguing that it is based on a unique combination of liberty and order. He refutes Turgot's claim that the American system is too decentralized and lacks a strong central government, arguing that the separation of powers and federalism are essential to preserving individual rights and preventing tyranny. Adams also defends the American Constitution, arguing that it is a product of the people's will and reflects their desire for a government that is both limited and effective.Throughout the book, Adams draws on his extensive knowledge of history and political theory to support his arguments. He cites examples from ancient Greece and Rome, as well as contemporary European governments, to show how the American system is superior. He also addresses specific criticisms of the American government, such as the lack of a hereditary aristocracy and the absence of a standing army, and provides compelling rebuttals.Overall, ""A Defense of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America, Against the Attack of M. Turgot"" is a powerful defense of American political institutions and a reminder of the principles that underlie them. It remains a valuable resource for anyone interested in American political philosophy and the history of the United States. This Is A New Release Of The Original 1794 Edition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. The church is an earthly expression of God's love. Unfortunately, there is too often discord within the church, resulting in the untimely dismissal of pastors. Ours is a God of peace and harmony; we must resolve our conflicts so the church can fulfill its God given responsibilities: to honor God, mature the believers, and bring salvation to the lost. Who Is in Control of the Church is an extraordinary work of ministerial scholarship that offers specific guidance for how pastors can unite the church to fulfill their mutual ministries. Here are just a few of the topics covered in this book: Authority that is conferred on pastors, and earned by the pastor The church's responsibilities to the pastor and vice versa Motivation for obeying God's authority Dr. John Adams and Dr. Gayle Alexander have more than one hundred years of combined experience in the church, and during that time, they are aware of far too much conflict. But more importantly, they have also seen solutions to avoid those conflicts. Those solutions are contingent on pastors and church people fulfilling their own responsibilities in the love and spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord.
