Introduction Deep Cleaning Window Frames Window Tracks Window Guards Screens Blinds Shades Shutters Curtains/Drapes Storm Windows and Skylights Windows Jalousies Time Monthly Cleaning Weekly Cleaning Daily Cleaning Apparel Supplies Cleaning on a budget Tips Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Windows used to be the best source of light people had before electricity and were therefore kept very clean and well cared for. Nowadays, windows are one of the last things we think of when we think of cleaning (Unless you're like me and need to be able to see out the window at all times), because we really don't need them like we used to; and besides, who has time to worry about windows of which really don't matter when it comes to making your house look presentable right? Wrong. Windows are one of the little things you do to make your house look clean that makes a bigger difference than what you would think. It's like cleaning the entire bathroom and leaving the rug on the floor unshaken. It still has all the hair and dirt and lint on it and makes people wonder what else is not all clean in there. Okay so it's not that bad when people see your windows aren't washed, but it doesn't give your home a very spick and span feeling about it when you look out the window and see smudges of grease from your forehead or nose (we all have them don't deny it). Especially when you have kids, they are going to get dirtier faster because kids have some kind of an attraction to windows that adults cannot fathom, though we were children once ourselves. Cleaning windows is important to giving your home a bright, clean feeling and this book is meant to tell you how to clean them as good as a professional.
The Science of Living by Giving and Tithes Table of Contents Introduction Give as He is Able What Does One Mean by Give? Giving in Ancient Days Objects of Charity Author Bio Introduction When I began writing the Science Of Living books, and thinking about the topics on which to write, I came across a subject which is dear to my heart-The ancient practice of giving tithes or just giving from your heart, according to your means. I was about seven years old, when I heard that my father's uncle who had brought him up, went every month to the holy place, and gave 10% of his income to serve the needy and the poor. I am not a Christian, so I did not know that tithes were part of the holy Writ. I just knew that people of our religion had been told by our gurus to give charity, a tenth part of whatever we earned to the needy and the poor. It was called Daswand- the 10th part. When I grew up and started earning, I also kept up the family tradition of giving a Daswand to Mother Teresa's Sisters of Charity orphanage in our city. It took the form of food and clothes for the orphan children and babies. And when I used to come back, I used to feel as if the duty for the month had been done! This sort of spiritual upliftment was not smug complacency and pride in saying, "well, just imagine I have given so much money in charity." It was more of a humble feeling that thank you Lord, that you have given me so much and given me the will and the strength to part with even a 10th of it. Whenever I used to go there, I used to be really happy about one thing - people from all walks of life, and from all religions came there, and gave freely. I saw Sikhs, Hindus, Mussalmans and Christians helping feed the needy, with what they could give. And my eyes would filled with tears. This was one place where nobody cared about religion. It was just this child would freeze in the winter. Believe it or not, as my income grew, it sometimes became very hard for me to part of comparatively large sums, because all that money was not being spent on me and my family. This is how selfish a human being is, and that is his natural instinct. Deuteronomy 16:17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God that he has given you. Many people asked me why I did not give this money to serve people of my own religion and I used to give them looks of "oh God, what fools these mortals be. They need to bring in the idea of religion, even in a natural instinct of trying to help anybody belonging to the genus Homo sapiens. " Give with the feeling of humbleness that you Can give. Not with pride. But then, this book is definitely not anything to do with religion, but more with the science of living in a manner befitting a good soul. However, bear with me, if it has quotations from Holy Writ of different holy books and stories taken from the sayings of the ancients. These books have been compiled by great, good and wise men, to help benefit mankind down the ages. So, this book is going to tell you all about the art of giving, and giving generously. This is going to include some of my own personal views, but as they are universal, and so thoroughly human and most of them are what I would consider miracles, I am more than happy to share them with you.

Table of Contents Introduction to Garden Borders Introduction Planning a Border Preparing Your Border Lime Application Manuring General Cultivation Tips Planting of Shrubs List of Different Color Plants Borders of Just One Color Getting a Period Border Narrow Borders Aspect Borders General Herbaceous Borders Choosing the Right Background Staking and Supports Growing a Shrub Border Using Bulbs in Your Border Bulb Selection Planting Your Bulbs Border Bulbs - Hyacinth and Crocus Management of your Borders Traditional Control of Slugs Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction No one knows which creative gardener decided to line the borders of his flower beds with plants of a different contrasting color and how many millenniums ago. Nevertheless, even unto the 20th century, any well-kept garden which you visit is going to have a number of borders and hedges placed in the garden to add style to the visual appeal. The most important part of choosing a good border is the color scheme. Just imagine your bed is going to be made up of white daisies. You decide to border it with white chrysanthemums. That does not show much about your creativity or color sense, does it? On the other hand, if you aim at having a border looking as natural and possible with a good color scheme and selection, and which is definitely not planted in rows, you are going to have something good-looking and unique. Also, you need to look at the height of a plant. I remember as a child seeing a garden bed bordered with Hollyhocks. The gardener just loved the color and did not have enough of hollyhocks to make up a whole bed. So she just planted the hollyhock plants as a contrasting border for a flower bed of other summer and autumn flowers. The hollyhocks were not of the dwarf variety. They grew and they grew and soon over - shadowed the flowers in the bed. So anyone looking at that bed from a distance of about 10 feet would be confronted with plenty of hollyhock flowers and foliage, and would have to do a little bit of visual searching to look at the flowers growing in the bed. This definitely is not what you would expect a border to do. Imagine a border to be a frame for the real stuff - your choice of flowers in a well-prepared bed.
Introduction to a Minimalistic Lifestyle - Tips and Techniques to Decluttering Your Life Table of Contents Introduction What Has Stopped Now? Spring Cleaning Fever Rules of a Minimalist Lifestyle Why Are You Buying Something? Can I Afford This Thing Creating Tension for Ourselves Decluttering your living space Changing Yourself to Gain Happiness Author Bio Publisher Introduction A minimalistic lifestyle has been part and parcel of the human social fabric for millenniums. Why did humans need it? There was the time when humans were more interested in the struggle for survival against the elements, and against dangerous animals and also other human beings of other tribes. Slowly and steadily, human beings began to get more settled. Peace came onto the earth - or at least in their regions. Settlements began to grow. People began to settle down to an agriculturalist style of living, instead of going in for the Hunter lifestyle followed by their ancestors. Their Hunter ancestors 10,000 years ago - and ours, perhaps 25,000 years ago, and more - were not bothered much about gathering plenty of physical and material belongings to them. The concept of "your" and "mine" was not a common thing at that time. Nevertheless, they knew that they needed some basic materials to survive. These included clothing, hunting weapons and shelter. Utensils, they could do without, because all they needed was to have any hollow space available, and there they were, they could cook the food hunted during the day, and next day move their camps to other hunting grounds. But as human beings began to settle down, and began making permanent places in which to live, there began a steady search for knowledge and the expansion of mankind's creative and artistic sensibilities. That is when the concept of Your and Mine came into existence. The instinct of possessing something which was not easily available or which was just the possession of one particular person began to crop up in the lives of human beings. And that brought with it sorrow, jealousy, envy, greed, and all the other negative emotions, which unfortunately are parts of our lives today.

That is when plant life evolved along with animal life. And that is how the surface of the earth was covered with lush fruitful vegetation, which flourished and evolved in different climates. As time went by, climatic changes also changed the nature and the appearance of these plants. From multicelled algae and fungi, they became huge multicelled giant trees, like the Sequoia, which are remnants of those glorious days of giant Green trees gone by. And soon man found out that trees were very useful to give him shelter, to give him food, and to provide him with essential fruit, leaves, and seeds to supplement his diet. That was because he was imitating the animals around him. They nibbled at leaves, he did the same thing. Sometimes he ended up with a tummy ache. Sometimes the animals ended up sick while he was left hale and hearty. But down the ages, and through lots of trial and error, he found out that every single plant out there could be put into use, even those plants we consider weeds today. The mythological and historical hanging Gardens of Babylon, which were supposed to have been built by Nebuchadnezzar, but in actuality were built by Sennacherib in Nineveh, Assyria, about 300 km away from Babylon. These were lush with green trees from all over the world. And historians who are not really bothered about historic authenticity and the names of kings, did not bother much about the locality or the creator of one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. First-hand accounts of that time were not available, and when Babylon conquered Assyria, they called it the new Babylon. And so centuries later historians wrote about the wonders of marvelous trees and green vegetation, growing in Babylon. So that is the reason why since ancient times, trees, especially fruit trees have been an important part of cultured and civilized landscaping. They were and are planted in gardens for the pleasure of the general public or for your own private enjoyment.

A good, fulfilling session of warm up exercises will make sure that the body does not go into the energy-demanding phase of an exercise or workout too swiftly. There will be a gradual increase in your heart rate, which will steadily increase the flow of blood in your muscles, and other parts of the body, preparing you both physically and mentally for an injury free exercise. The importance of a workout can be compared simply to the analogy of a car being driven in cold weather; what people tend to do is, allow their cars to warm up before picking up high speeds. The same principle, in a slightly modified sense, applies to a workout. For a strenuous and demanding workout, its best to physically prepare yourself, by steadily increasing the body's temperature with patience. By giving your body a nice warm up with many of the techniques like jogging, walking, etc., you are in fact improving blood circulation within different joints, muscles, and tendons, much like oiling a squeaky wheel. With the increased blood flow, the heart rate also rises and the muscles warm up to prevent any injury from taking place. Moreover, warm up exercises also have a psychological affect and they prepare your brain by easing it into the physical activities that are soon to follow. This is extremely helpful in exercises like weight lifting, high intensity running, and aerobics. The body and mind thus synchronize and ease into the workout making sure that no part of the body faces any injury as a result of the exercises that are soon to follow. Keep reading on and find out the details of a warm up.

Table of Contents Introduction Chapter 1: Changing the Way We Think About Compact Houses Benefits of Compact Living Global Impact of Compact Living Chapter 2: Compact Living Basic Design Principles Chapter 3: Compact Living 101 Maximizing Floor Spaces Choosing Your Furniture Wisely Creating the Most Out of Your Space Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction All over the world especially in Europe, therehas been a growing movement to promote compact cities. Compact cities are cities wherein the supermarkets, offices, hospitals, and other important places are set around one area. Through urban planning, compact cities are created in order to reduce the space used, to minimize emissions from extensive car use and to preserve more rural areas and green spaces. This movement acknowledges the fact that the world, more than ever is in need of space. Our population is continually growing far beyond seven billion and yet the Earth, in its finiteness, remains the same. Of all the infrastructures that have to use the Earth's space, the largest portion comes not from the industries, but from our residential homes, apartment buildings and condominiums - our living spaces. In the United States, the houses get bigger each year. It was just less than 1700 sq. ft in the 1970s and has now gone up to 2500 sq. ft in 2014. What's ironic here is that the families today are smaller than in the 1970s. In the United Kingdommeanwhile, the average one-bedroom house is merely 495 sq. ft or 46 sq. m and even a three-bedroom home is just 947 sq. ft on average. Yes, there is a huge gap between the US and the UK's average housing spaces but believe it or not, there are many more countries with less and less square footage, and yet, survey shows that these people are not less satisfied. What I am trying to say is that space is merely a matter of how you use it. Let me ask, how many rooms in your house are not used that it ended up being a storage cabinet? Or how many useless things or non-working appliances do you have in your kitchen that you don't dispose just because you don't want your cabinets to look empty? There are probably many of you who have these unused spaces in your homes. The thing is, you could've grown vegetables with that space, it could've saved you dollars or it could've been use for something else. With the growing movement for compact cities and the rising of global awareness on sustainability issues, it is time for us to rethink how much square footage we really need in our homes. This is what compact living is all about - it is maximizing your limited house space for you to create more living spaces that you never imagined existing in your small home.

Some of them are traditional, some of them are comparatively modern or we can say 21st century innovations. For example, the traditional charcoal heating vessel in Japan called a Hibachi is now often used to grill or barbecue pieces of meat. In the same manner, barbecues, which were once done on an open fire, are now done under an electric grill. An outdoor grill is going to keep us out of the kitchen and also it satisfies some savage atavistic instinct in us which makes us crave juicy steaks, barbecued pieces of meat, roasted and grilled and charcoal burned medium rare or over cooked bite sized pieces of steak ever so often. It is the time of the hibachi and the barbecue. So if you have already heard all the unwanted advice given to you by diehard cooks, especially on matters of charcoal fires and wooden chips, here is some more advice, based on experience and time-tested cooking techniques done outdoors.
Table of Contents Introduction Starting Your Herbarium Butterflies and Insects Added to Your Pages Adding Mosses to Your Herbarium Making Your Own Fernery Plant Choices Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction If you are interested in preserving plants, in the shape of dried flowers, leaves, and even seedpods, you may want to preserve them for posterity in what is known as a herbarium. In olden days, it was called a Hortus Siccus - and since ancient times, gardeners and botanists kept looking for ways and means in which they could preserve flowers, and plants in a dried condition, for a long time. These herbariums were found in the East, where the Chinese knew how to manufacture paper, more than 3,000 years ago. These plants were placed between paper and pressed and dried. It was only when people in Europe got to know about paper, about 800 years ago, apart from using this for writing manuscripts, they also began to preserve plants between sheets of paper, especially when Linnaeus began his own way of classifying plants and so brought the science of taxonomy to the Latin speaking world of Western scholars. And that is why the men went collecting, all over the globe, bringing back samples of flowers, leaves, and other parts of the plants, which they dried in wooden presses. If they were blessed with an artistic talent, they would do a little bit of painting of that sample, or records, but this painting and drawing was left to the women of the house because that was supposed to be an aristocratic talent, which the middle-class adopted in the 18th - 19th century. When we were in College, getting ready to collect our Degrees in Science, we had to make a herbarium of which there were at least one or two plants, of which we had learned while studying the morphology, physiology, characteristics, and taxonomic characteristics of 75 families. The Potato and the Crucifer family plants were easy to obtain, because that area was agriculture based and all we had to do was go to the nearest farm, gather a Solanaceae leaf and flower and a cruciferous healthy specimen of either mustard, or other Brassica family cruciferous plants. But when it came to the mimosa - bottlebrush family, that poor little plant! There was just one bottlebrush tree in our college, and there were 275 students, in the science faculty, every year spanning over three years and nine Class Sections - First-Year, Second-Year, and Third-Year. And every student wanted a bottlebrush flower and leaf. So we being really mean types, used to wait until our Final Year, and if we did not have any of the samples of the plants needed to complete our herbarium, we would commandeer the herbarium of a junior Frosh, doing unto them, what had been done unto us by our Seniors! These herbariums where the culmination of three years of serious botanical study - 75 families in three years - and that is why, whenever I go for a ramble in the woods today, it is always a half reminiscent pensive, "Drat, here you are, blooming away so merrily, you silly plant, where were you when I needed you at College?" Anyway, this herbarium is definitely not going to be made for academic reasons and for gaining lots and lots of marks and an A+, but just for fun.

The Magic of Thyme For Cooking and Health Table of Contents Introduction Cultivation of Thyme Growing Thyme Propagation of Cultivars Harvesting Your Plant Crop Thyme in Cuisine How to Use Thyme? Thyme tea Tonsillitis Cure Sinusitis Cure. Thyme in Medicine Thyme for Skin Diseases Herbal vinegar Thyme as a Foot Talc Natural Cough Syrup Making Herbal Syrups Arthritis Remedy Conclusion Author Bio Introduction Thyme also known as Thymus serpyllum is a popularly culinary and garden plant with a number of different varieties all having much in the same use in cooking and medicine. Since ancient times, this was considered to be one of the most popular herbs, because it was so commonly available. It was used to flavor food with an aromatic, warm and pungent flavor. The name Thyme is Greek in origin, because it originally was a native in the Mediterranean region from where it will spread to other parts of the world and other sunny regions. It normally means fumigation, which is an allusion to the healing properties of its smoke. In ancient times, Greeks used to take sprigs of thyme leaves and make them into bundles. Then they used to set fire to them. This was then used to perfume the air of their rooms, as well as public spots like temples and other public gathering places with the aromatic smell of this herb. The smell of the thyme was supposed to lift depression and calm anxiety. So I would not be surprised that the Roman forum was also extensively fumigated with time smoke before the Senators decided they had to say something on the lines of Alea Jacta est or Delenda est Carthago- or Carthago must go. This was also used extensively in herbal medicine. Ancient thyme vinegar recipes have come down the ages to us, to help cure small ailments as a natural disinfectant. This plant is native to North Asia, Europe and Australia. The dried leaves and the flowering tops of this plant along with another variety Thymus vulgaris are either called wild thyme or thyme . This normally prefers growing in the high altitude of about 1529 m above sea level. Thyme has been growing extensively in France, Germany, Spain and Italy for millenniums. In ancient times, it was normally used as an antifungal, as well as to cure bladder and intestinal infections. It is a common garden plant, which is going to live for many years, once it is planted and watered regularly. The leaves of this plant are curled, brownish green in color, usually not longer than six - seven mm and marketed in either a whole form or in ground form. If you lived in medieval times, and a maiden or a lad shyly offered you a sprig of thyme, it meant that she/he was offering his hand and heart to you. Accepting the sprig meant, okay, talk to my parents, because I agree and if you did not accept it, he/she could go and do the same offering of the sprig to the next one on his list. Nice thing, this language of flowers, is not it! In ancient times it meant courage, and in medieval times, it meant perseverance and remembrance. That is why ladies always embroidered a bee on a sprig of thyme and handed them to their knights going off adventuring. The idea was, though far thou bee, do not forget mee, though moments flee and thyme may pass, I will still bee and stay thy faithful lass. The more practical knight could take that as an unspoken threat of, go gathering honey elsewhere, and you shall feel my wrath, like a bee sting.

I recently wrote a book on how you could preserve flowers by drying them, and make things of beauty and a joy forever out of them. As I am fascinated with flowers, and anything else including interesting looking leaves, driftwood, seeds, and even dried fruit which has anything to do with their presence in nature and their presence right in my home after I have gathered them in great handfuls on my many rambles outdoors, is it surprising that you are going to learn more about how you can preserve flowers, especially when you find them right there indoors, when it is 0° outside and a force 10 wind blowing. Traditionally, man has been fascinated with the ephemeral quality of flowers for millenniums, and he has tried his best to make sure that they last just a little bit longer after he has collected them from the branches on which they blossomed so beautifully just this morning. This book is going to tell you all about tips and techniques on how you can press flowers in a methodical manner, both traditional and modern, and also how you can try out some interesting creative techniques in order to preserve these flowers for just another year or so right indoors.

That means that he knows that at one particular period of the year, he is going to be subject to ice, snow and cold temperatures. He is also going to face blizzards and storms. As man has not been built by nature to curl up in a warm cave and hibernate throughout the winter like more sensible animals, the onset of winter brings with it the heightened sense of self-preservation. In olden days, all man could do was huddle into a corner, around the fire, and keep praying for the blizzard to stop. During this time, he survived on the food that he had stored in his cave or in his place of shelter during the more clement and temperate months of the year. As time went by man found that it was easy to transport himself and his family to other places, on horseback, or in a cart. And that is why he managed to look for more temperate regions - where the weather was not so harsh - before the onset of winter. But as time went by, nature still kept to her rules of a harsh winter, but mankind did not learn much in terms of common sense. In fact, he persisted on going out in the cold, instead of staying under shelter. And that is why the popular melodramatic cliché of someone turned from a doorstep on a harsh winters evening remained a popular theme in theaters. Even today in 80% of the popular escapist novels, the dumb, but beautiful heroine (single and pregnant in 90% of the cases, according to manuscript submission requirements, goes driving in a blizzard. - I told you that she is dumb - And the multibillionaire hero rescues her. And there is going to be a happily ever after, on page 186, because he is going to marry her. And there we are, we have just wasted our money on another thoroughly idiotic novel.) In real life, she would have died of hypothermia, because she is not well clothed, does not have fuel and has been buried in a snowdrift.

The Science of Living With Honesty and Integrity Table of Contents Introduction Earning Good Karma. Quite an honest man! Let My Conscience Speak for Me Black, Gray and White - Inflexibility And Compromise. Walk Quietly by, by the Other Side Conclusion Author Bio Introduction "Integrity is telling myself the truth. And honesty is telling the truth to other people."- Spencer Johnson. I was reading a story by a French writer, in the 17th century, and I found this line very amusing. "The more he talked about his honesty, the faster we counted our spoons." Well, cynicism is definitely not something new in the 21st century. It has passed down the ages, and especially, when Shakespeare said "The lady doth protest too much, methinks," when he wrote Hamlet in 1602. Here was a clear-sighted person who knew that somebody was trying to persuade herself and trying to pretend to the world that what she was saying was her own belief and the truth as she saw it. How many of us are self-deceivers? Some of us will not and cannot face reality. Some of us are ready to blame others for our shortcomings. Some of us are quite prepared to fight for what we consider to be the truth, because we have expounded it, and we want other people to share our beliefs and thoughts. Be honest with yourself. Once you have faced reality, you can be honest with others. Honesty, especially when you are able to face reality, and you can understand that you are in the wrong or you are in the right is something very few people can do. They would rather stick their heads in the sand, hoping against hope that the problem is going to go away. Of course, they were not responsible for that particular problem. It just happened. I was reading a Novel by Amanda Quick in which the whole family decided that they belonged to Bad blood, which was frivolous, spendthrift, and definitely not responsible. That is why they could fob off all their extravagances, and stupid behavior, to this excuse, "we cannot help it, our ancestors were like that and they passed on their habits to us." This was Regency England. Even today, we have plenty of people using the same excuse, because they are definitely not honest enough to admit it that they do not have the strength or the willpower or the inclination to make something of themselves. They would rather go with the wind, and pretend helplessly, that they really cannot do something, because, well, they are not capable of doing that. They belong to a genetically imperfect family, they do not have any money, they have always been pulled down by circumstances and situations, and other such puerile and feeble excuses. These are just ways and means in which they can shirk their responsibilities. These people are slackers and freeloaders. They are not honest, to themselves, or to others, however much they may pretend to be honest in the given sense of the word. They also do not have personal integrity.

Turning urine and salt water into drinkable water. Solar still Chapter 4 - Choose Your Snow Wisely How to melt snow the right way Does the water from snow need to be purified? Chapter 5 - Different Approaches to Hydration Chapter 6 - Minimising Water Loss Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Nothing, I repeat nothing, is more important than water for humans to live on this planet (well excluding oxygen though that's obvious). Your body is made up of around 60-80% water and you cannot hope to continue performing your daily chores with the same efficiency if you don't find enough water. Certainly the amount of usage of water varies depending upon the climate and activities you are involved in, but its presence is always required. In a moderate climate with low levels of activity, approximately 2 liters of water is required daily for a 160 lb person. Certainly when the climate changes or the level of activity turns to exercise, you need to increase this amount simultaneously. The first sign of dehydration may be discerned through the color of the urine. A normal hydrated body produces a pale yellow color, but a dehydrated body produces urine that is darker in color. To make sure that the body doesn't dehydrate you need to not only meet the required quantity of water, but you also have to make sure that the water is clean. The reason why you constantly need to drink water is because your body continuously releases liquids and you need to maintain those levels. The release of liquids from your body is in the form of urination, sweating, excretion, and respiration. The liquids are released so that the toxins can be removed from your body and proper hydration makes this happen along with redistributing the nutrients in the body. Water also provides the pathway for electrical impulses to travel through nerve and brain cells to activate the muscles. The brain in itself is made up of 80% water.

How did our ancestors manage spans of longevity, when they were not influenced by wars and disease? Well, the answer is very clear. They were extremely careful about their diet. The ancient wise men advocated a diet of fruit and vegetables, fresh from the trees, and less of high-protein, in the shape of animals, fish and game. Ordinary bread was the easiest way in which man got his quota of cereals every day. This whole wheat or grain bread was cooked on a grill and eaten with vegetables and meat dishes. However, as time went by, man began changing his dietary habits. He started domesticating animals, which included poultry, cattle and other animals from where he could get protein supplements in the shape of meat. And so as time went by, he began concentrating more on meat dishes to add variety to his food, rather than plant products. So as centuries went by, this change in diet slowly and steadily began to have an adverse effect on his health. He started eating less vegetables and fruit, and started concentrating more on protein from animal products. And so his system and physiology began to change accordingly. Nature tried its best to incorporate this change in diet into his natural system. If man had it his way, he would subsist only on meat with less of fruit and vegetables. However, the wise men were still intelligent enough to make man understand that he needed a natural balance of healthy carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, and other essential nutrients, which could not be obtained by eating just a one-sided diet concentrating on just one particular food group. And so they began to tell people more about how necessary it was to eat healthy, beneficial healthy giving foods. These needed to be eaten every day, so that the body could function normally and properly to keep it in proper healthy running condition. Scarcity of these healthy giving foods would give rise to ailments which would weaken the body. Luckily, man was practical enough to understand the wisdom of such knowledge. And that is why down the millenniums we are still eating fruit and vegetables, herbs and spices. You may say that you know how to choose, cook and preserve a number of foods given in this book. But there are still some helpful tips, which are going to come in useful, when preparing healthy meals for your family. Naturally the tips are time tested! So here are some healthy giving and healing foods, which you need to have in your daily diet, to keep you bright eyed and bushy tailed. And naturally, nuts come in this category. Some of these foods are vegetarian and some of them are non-vegetarian. So it depends upon your eating habits, which of them you incorporate in your daily diet. But remember that no food can be compensated with another food. Every single food item in the world has its own unique properties. So if you think that eating lots of honey instead of beetroot sugar is going to keep you healthy, no, that cannot be done, and vice versa.
The Magic of Coffee - Knowing More about Coffee Table of Contents Introduction Planting Coffee Trees Fruit Separation of the Exocarp and Misocarp Hulling Flavor of the Coffee Growing Coffea Arabica Temperature Shade Water Soil Soil erosion Necessary Nutrients for Coffee Growth Enemies of Coffee Growing of Coffee Trees Rooting Planting Harvesting Making Coffee - one Traditional Way Precautions Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Once upon a time, thousands of years ago an Ethiopian shepherd possibly in the Kaffa region of the southwestern part of Africa found all his sheep dining of the succulent fruit off a bush. The only problem with that was that the moment they had eaten those berries, they started to grow more frisky. So he decided to experiment a little. There was this old ewe, almost on her last legs. So he fed her some of those brown berries, and then spend the whole day, trying to capture her. He sat down on a rock and began to think. If this is the effect that these beans had on an old ewe, could it have a similar rejuvenating effect upon his own father? So he collected some of the berries, and asked his woman to brew them in water. This brew was then given to his old ailing father. And then the whole village spent the whole day trying to capture the father, who was under the influence of a caffeine high. Naturally, the father came down with a bump after the high was over and was sick for the next week. However, the Ethiopians found that this berry been drunk in moderate quantities was enough to rejuvenate them and give them a kick. And so kafe from the Kaffa region or the beans of Coffea arabica, which was first indigenous but then was slowly and steadily spread all over the world became one of the most popular brews drunk by mankind after water and tea.
