Today we are going to take a step back in time and enter the age of the dinosaurs. The dinosaurs are an extinct species of animal that began to live on the Earth over 200 million years ago. "Extinct" means that they no longer exist. The dinosaurs are some of the most intriguing and awe-inspiring animals that have existed on our planet. The dinosaurs' colossal size, strange characteristics, and mysterious disappearance make them inherently worthy of study and interest. Even more than these reasons, the study of dinosaurs itself is an incredible adventure which requires thought and imagination. The study of dinosaurs helps you to appreciate just how mysterious and amazing life and nature really is. Our planet supports not only us and the animals that live today, but it even supported creatures as gigantic and strange as the dinosaurs- just think how cool that is! I hope that you bring a spirit of openness and wonder to your study of the dinosaurs, and that you come to appreciate the mystery and value of the dinosaurs. Today we are going to take a look at an incredibly fascinating dinosaur called the Archaeopteryx. The Archaeopteryx is receiving a lot of attention today by scientists and paleontologists because of its dual nature: it was not only a dinosaur, but it was also one of the very first birds! This dinosaur's status makes it a crucial to the evolutionary theory. Evolution is the theoretical process through which living things are thought to have come into existence. We will discuss this theory in the pages to come. We are not only going to talk about the Archaeopteryx's relationship to evolutionary theory, but also about what the Archaeopteryx looked like, how it behaved, where and when it lived, and even about the plants and animals it shared its habitat with. We know what we know about the dinosaurs from a variety of sources including fossils, biology, and other scientific disciplines. Fossils are the ancient remains of the dinosaurs, the most familiar being their bones. Biological science is the study of life in general, but many scientists compare the dinosaurs to modern day animals to support their theories.

Medical Conditions Requiring Paleo Diet - Health Learning Series Table Of Contents Introduction: The ancient diet Section one: Knowing paleo diet - Paleo diet explained. - Dissecting paleo diet: An analysis of its components Section two: Medical conditions benefitting from paleo diet - Cardiovascular diseases: A heart protecting diet - Diabetes: Too much sweetness, too many problems. - Obesity: Eat less, get thinner but with more energy - Sleep problems: A soothing diet - Allergies: "I am totally natural" says paleo diet - Skin problems: Be gone you rashes! - Autoimmune diseases: Protecting you from your own self Introduction: The ancient diet In the search for the best diet, a theory was presented in the 1980s. The theory reminded humans of their ancestors and the healthy lives they used to live. It blamed the development of modern diseases on our present imperfect diet which it considers a recent innovation as compared to what our bodies have been adapting to, for the major part of history. It says that if we eat the diet of our ancestors, we will return to that healthy state and the diseases of our present time will fade away into non-existence. This is the concept behind paleo diet. Paleo diet, a modern adaptation of the supposed diet of our ancestors, is claimed to be the solution to the dietary hazards of our time. Can it really provide benefits over our present diet? Can it really be the solution of hazardous diseases that have plagued the modern society? This book discusses the advantages of paleo diet over modern diet relevant to the cure of diseases and assumes the position that indeed, paleo diet can be the solution for the major diseases of our age.

Table of Contents Healing through Milk and Yogurt Table of Contents Introduction Digesting Milk Natural Remedies Rejuvenating Recipe Avoiding Milk Increasing Weight Vertigo Milk for Skin Problems Sugar remedy Blemishes Pimples and Pimple Scars Natural Depilatory Natural Cure for Baldness Hoarse Throat and Chest Infections Whooping Cough Acidity Insomnia Almond milk Headaches and Migraine Gastric and Duodenal Ulcers Blocked nose Yogurt Lethargy Constipation The Best Way to Eat Yogurt Yogurt for Hair Care Hair fall Dandruff Yogurt for Beauty Skin Cleansing Blemishes and Pimples Traditional Clarified Butter - Desi Ghee Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Since ancient times, mankind has considered milk from animals to be one of the most easily available and popular supplements to his diet. This milk is the main constituent of a number of other products like cheese, butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, and buttermilk. This book is going to tell you all about how you can use these products to cure a number of ailments. In ancient times, a man's prosperity was counted by the number of livestock he had in his farm, including goats, sheep, cows, horses, and other such domesticated animals. That is why in ancient books, the milk of a cow has been described in such glowing terms - The spinal cord of a cow has a nerve called Sunlight in it. Whenever the Sun God showers his rays on the body of a cow grazing in the fields, the rays are turned into gold when they touch the nerve called sunlight. That is the reason why the butter and the milk you get from a cow is golden in color. Talk about imagination! But this is the reason why when the Celtic and Gaulic tribes left Britain during the Roman conquest, the women walked in front of the cows and horses in order to protect them! That means if any one tried stealing the cows away, they would have to go through the warrior women first! Traditionally, milk was drank fresh without heating. It is only nowadays that we pasteurize it in order to get rid of all the germs. The yellowish color, supposed to be gold from the rays of the sun [!] is nothing but fat globules in the milk. The white color of the milk is due to casein. This is rich in nourishing and nutritional calcium. That is the reason why growing children are given a glass full of milk morning and evening, so that they have strong bones, good teeth and a healthy constituency. Traditionally, it is believed that the best time to drink milk is in the early morning. According to the ancients, the milk was digested as the sun went up, taking with it the benefit of the rays of the sun. That is why milk and milk products were never given to members of the family during the evening hours. There is a scientific reason behind this belief. It takes about three hours for milk to digest. That is why, if you are drinking milk at night in order to sleep more peacefully, do not go to sleep, as soon as you drink the milk.

That is why, you can be certain that millenniums ago when some enterprising soul learned how to domesticate wild plants and grow them in his own little yard for food, shelter and wood, one fine day he decided - what is going to happen if I can grow the branch of such and such tree on such and such other tree? That means I am going to have oranges and apples in one parent tree. The start of such creative ideas must have given rise to many bizarre experimentations, most of which would fail monumentally. However, as time went by, and more and more people started to experiment, they gained more knowledge and gardening experience related to plant propagation. In the natural state, you are going to see different vegetative propagation methods through which a plant can grow. That means the plant is going to grow its own seeds, and use natural methods like air, wind and water to spread the seeds far and wide. In a strawberry, you are going to have the plant sending out long branches trailing on the soil. Stimulus of moisture causes the production of roots below a bud on a long branch. The bud is then going to send out shoots. Soon the connection between the new plant and the old plant is severed by a withering up of the intervening branch.

The history of cheetahs and humans Cheetahs and conservation Morphs and other differences among cheetahs Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Cheetahs are probably one of the lesser known big cats. The tiger and the lion are the best known, no doubt about that; however, cheetahs definitely have their own space in the world's cultures. As the fastest land animal alive, the cheetah has enchanted many people throughout history. From the people who have had them around as long as they can remember, to the explorers who saw them for the first time, the cheetah captured the imagination of people everywhere. The cheetah lives in many parts of Africa, as well as Iran. It used to be that the cheetah also lived in a good portion of Asia, including India, but it was pushed out. Still, the cheetah is well remembered there, and there is an effort to reintroduce the cheetah, which was pushed out in the 1940's.

Table of Contents Introduction Radishes to Cure Stomach Ailments Indigestion Dyspepsia Flatulence Constipation Diarrhea Stomachache Dropsy Flatulence Ulcers Acidity/Acid Reflux Radishes to Cure Chronic Diseases Radishes for Your Heart Jaundice Diabetes High and Low Blood Pressure Weight loss Gout Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction When I wrote a book upon the magic of radishes a couple of years ago in my" Magic of..." series, I had not known that this vegetable has been used all over the World in order to heal, cure, and prevent a large number of diseases, both common and chronic for millenniums. In that book you learned how to grow radishes and their history, but this book is going to concentrate only about the healing power of radishes, down the ages, along with tips and points about radishes, which you may not know. The Magic of Radishes - http: //tinyurl.com/j4wsv9x Throughout a rather peripatetic life, I have often lived in areas where garlic, onions, and radishes are not eaten very commonly, because some people are very choosy about their strong odor, and for other very finicky people, only commoners/foreigners ate garlic, onions, radishes, and cabbage. I do not know where and when this particular brand of stupidity started, in culinary circles, and the social acceptance of one of the most healthiest of vegetables available to mankind was banished from normal daily fare because "the best people" did not eat it, and for the majority of the common people out there, it was monkey see monkey do. But like I said, after having lived in places where onions, garlic, and radishes were not eaten very often in the common diet - that was because I was living in an area where people did not bother about not eating any foods, which were grown underground, including radishes and potatoes, for who knows what ancient traditional, conventional, and possibly religious reasons. I was too young to go into such justifications and explanations, but that meant that anything which was dug up from underneath the ground, was not eaten. Half of the food items in the World have thus been made taboo or inaccessible to mankind under the label of forbidden, with perhaps some justification, or perhaps without any reason or rhyme. And then, I found myself in another part of the World, where people used to just grab radishes out of the ground, wash them thoroughly to get rid of all the dirt, and then crunch them, without even bothering to peel them. They definitely did not care about flatulence and bad odor in the mouth or any other supposed side effect of eating radishes. Their breakfasts were full of cooked radishes either as a vegetable, or stuffed into bread pancakes, with radishes, onions, and tomato salads to be served with every meal.

I could make Victorian crochet doilies, knitted mittens, scarfs, some articles of clothing called fascinators, and even socks and knickerbockers, but what about rugs? It is only later that I found out that according to the Victorians rug making was not considered to be a genteel occupation, which could be indulged in by the daughters and wives of gentlemen. These languishing ladies would sit in front of the embroidery frame, plying a needle, while dining of strawberries and cream, no doubt, while rug making was done by people of lower social strata. Nevertheless, we are fortunate that we have stopped thinking of such idiotic considerations in order to make rugs. So this book is going to tell you all about the art of rug making, and you are going to let your creativity loose in making these amazingly beautiful items for your home.

Table of Contents Introduction The Concept of Quality Time Background of Child Raising Down the Centuries Psychologists and Modern - Day Parenting 1 - Have Meals Together 2 - Shopping with Family Members 3 - Hobbies and Sports Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Believe it or not, even though as a psychologist and a counselor, I learned a number of psychological terms, I was astonished when I was first confronted with the term "quality time," in regard to parent-child relationship. This book is going to be controversial, because I do not want this term quality time to have anything to do with any sort of natural relationship between a parent or a child or partners or close family members. Why, because any relationship which is between human beings should never ever be measured in the amount of time spent with them and the feeling of guilt associated just because you neglected your family because you thought you had to do something else which held top priority in your schedule. This book wants you to abolish that psychological term quality time from your lexicon and vocabulary. This is just the sort of psychological mumbo-jumbo and jargon, thought up by some psychologist like me somewhere in order to sound more knowledgeable and more intelligent than thou! Along with that, I am going to talk about the long-term psychological effects of this so-called quality time on human beings, and whether you think that it is positive or negative, is going to be decided by you after you finish the book. Quality time - also known as QT, spoken in a very proud and smug tone because after all, you are boasting to other people around you that you have taken some time out of your very very busy schedule in order to spend this time with your loved ones - is a reference to some time spend informally with them. This naturally is a 20th century concept. And this is how a large number of parents are justifying their feelings of guilt, through neglecting their children just by saying that, well, they have done their duty to their children, because they have spent some time with them. And during this time they did some profitable, special, important, memorable, and productive activity. This time, which has been spent in doing this activity, where you are going to spend plenty of time giving some special matter or some special person all your attention, is called quality time. I just hate this term, especially when parents talk in a very smug tone that they have taken out half an hour out of their very busy schedule in order to take their children to a park, this week. I would rather those parents do not waste that half hour with their children, because one ear is going to be open for the ringing of their cell phone, with messages, and they watching the clock because they have to get back to what they consider to be the top priority job in their lives, as soon as the half hour is over. Stop this hypocritical behavior, pretending to be a good parent. The child could do without your presence, because the rest of the time, when you do meet or when you do have time to remember that you have a child around, the attention you give him is divided and full of interruptions.

Our ancestors were aware of the health benefits of these plants but we have forgotten them in favor of contemporary medicine. We spend so much on health treatments when all we need is to inculcate these plants into our routine lives to take care of many dangerous health conditions. Of the many beneficial spices and herbs that nature has provided, oregano is one of particular note. Known scientifically as origanum vulgare, it belongs to the mint family and belongs originally to the warm to moderate regions of Eurasia and the Mediterranean. Having a height ranging from twenty to eighty centimeters, it is characterized by opposite leaves and flowers that are purple and spike shaped. Oregano has found uses in kitchens all over the world because of the scented, warm and somewhat bitter flavor of its leaves. The strength of this flavor is variable between the various types of oregano. Its most common use in modern day cooking can be seen in Italian-American foods which was popularized by the way it easily combines with spicy dishes, native to the south of Italy. It also has diverse uses in the cuisines of many other countries. Aside from this, oregano is rich in health imparting compounds that can boost your wellbeing both mentally and physically. Its health benefits were acknowledged by the Greeks and Austrians. She was loudmouthed, rude, overdressed, and he was glad to see that he had an excuse not to like her. She had an unwashed neck. I gave a grin of smug and superior pomposity. Washing behind my ears, and washing my neck properly every day when having a bath had been drilled into me when I was a baby. So I had a squeaky clean neck, hurray, hurray. But it looked like I had been neglecting my elbows and my knees and also my feet. That comes of having no time for leisurely showers because one is in too much of a hurry to shower, get ready, and get out of the house in time to catch the morning's rush to the rat race. Even if you are not rushing around, and you have all the time in the world to have a long leisurely bath with all those lotions, potions, bath salts, and all those chemical-based stuffs, let us look at natural methods which are going to add to a clean body and exterior. These notions of elementary hygiene and cleanliness were disregarded, in many parts of the world, especially in Europe for centuries, but in other parts of the world, especially in ancient civilizations like Egypt, Persia, Babylon, China, Japan, and even ancient Europe, traditional beauty recipes to take care of the body and keep it young, youthful looking, and beautiful were handed down from grandmother to grandchild, and utilized. Nowadays, so many of us are so busy buying really expensive brand name cosmetics, and slathering them all over our skins, that we have forgotten all about natural-based traditional methods which have been in use for millenniums, especially in body and hand care. People always admire beautiful and well-maintained hands because they are about as expressive and appealing a feature to enhance your personality as a beautifully formed and made up youthful looking face is. The time spent upon taking care of your hands, feet, and the rest of your body can never be thought wasted. However, hands and feet and other parts of your body only get a fraction of the care and attention, we lavish upon our faces. If you think that a hand is not expressive look at the soft and smooth, graceful gestures of a dancer using both her hands to express a variety and gamut of emotions. It is sheer poetry and you may often have seen women using their hands so gracefully even in normal day-to-day gestures. This may make you feel so envious. Being quite human ourselves, we look at the ill cared for, rough skinned, and possibly red hands and decided that we are going to do something about it tomorrow. Well, tomorrow is here today, and this book is going to tell you all about traditional recipes made from items found right there in your kitchen, and in any traditional kitchen, with natural products.

But one is grateful that this is one plant which was allowed to grow and flourish in the gardens, instead of being considered to be just another weed, which had this habit of taking over large coppices, which were rich in natural humus. This very popular fruit, cultivated globally is now known as the garden or just a strawberry. It belongs to the Fragaria genus of plants, which is made up of other fruits which are not berries, but are a number of aggregate fruits. Thanks to its very attractive red and bright color, strawberry aroma, sweetness and juicy flavor, is it a surprise that there is no fruit like the strawberry for adding style and distinction to your garden patch. Just imagine ice creams, fruit juice, milkshakes, chocolates and pies, which have not been flavored with the delicate flavor of a strawberry. In fact artificially produced strawberry flavors are used extensively in lip glosses, lip balms and other beauty products. Strawberries, especially the Woodland strawberries are supposed to have originated in Europe, because references to these sweet delicious berries have been found in ancient Roman classical cuisine. They were also used by the Romans to cure a number of ailments related to the skin. Crushed strawberries were placed under ashes and skin problems in order to clear and cure the skin ailment and to make it smooth and glowing again. The plant was also used to treat depression. Strawberry growers of the early Victorian days used to take a great delight in digging up large coppices in the wood lands. These lands were rich in natural fertilizer, especially organic fertilizer, humus, and a well fertilized soil too. These lands were then allowed to be overrun with strawberries. When people got to know in the medieval ages that all you had to do was go into the woods, cut some strawberry runners and plant them in your plot of land, and they would grow and bear fruit, this fruit began to be more and more popular both with gardeners and with farmers.

The Magic of Marigolds - Marigolds for Health and Beauty Table of Contents Introduction Use of Marigolds In Herbal Lore And Tradition Planting Marigolds in Your Garden Beauty Products Made from Marigolds and Tips How to Make Marigold Skincare Cream Marigolds in Cooking Appendix Conclusion Introduction I was under the impression that the beautiful Marigold was just an ornamental flower looking great in my garden, until I found out that it was an herbaceous perennial, used in herbal medicines, natural remedies, and also in beauty recipes. So, this book is going to tell you all about the magic of marigolds, how to see them grow and flourish in your garden, and also use them in cookery, as well as in beauty recipes. In Asia, marigolds are an integral part of social life. Every auspicious ceremony needs garlands of marigolds and jasmines to adorn the houses, photographs of the gods, goddesses, and guests who have been invited to bless the ceremony with their presence. Marigolds are originally natives of North India, Africa, and Mexico. From here, they were taken all over the civilized world by traders. So that means you are going to see Calendula officinalis, otherwise known as garden Marigold, common Marigold and even pot Marigold, growing all in warm and temperate regions all over the globe. But a Mexican priest told me that ancient legend says the name Marigold is supposed to be in praise of the Virgin Mary - "Mary's Gold". Also, he told me that this flower named cempasúchil in Mexico was considered to be the sacred flower of the dead, and had to be offered during the celebration of The Day of the Dead, when people prayed to their departed near and dear ones. In India, this flower is called Satvarga- just like the Sun. Marigolds may bloom throughout the year, if the conditions are favorable, and the sun is warm and shining, so naturally this flower is one of the most preferred choices to use in happy celebrations, when you want to depict and praise light and sunshine. Do you know that the ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians and Indians used Marigold flowers as a natural dye? They also colored foods with Marigold flowers to give the dish a golden yellow tint, especially when they did not have turmeric or saffron around. So if you want to nibble Marigolds, remember that only Pot Marigold Species T. tenuifolia florets are edible. Do not use Marigold leaves in any culinary masterpiece.

For them, especially if they are women who have been brought up on Walt Disney -type escapist fairytales stories, and find that the reality of relationships when they grow up with a white clad Princess, being taken away by her handsome prince on a white charger is definitely an imaginary fairytale, no wonder so many people are worried about beginning a relationship, maintaining it, and after a while, wondering where it is going!
