That dinosaur is the Carnotaurus. The Carnotaurus is called a Carnotaur for short. The Carnotaurus was a strange creature because of the peculiar horns which grew from the top of its head and because of the many distinct characteristics is possesses that other similar dinosaurs did not have. For instance the Carnotaur was a lightly built predator whereas the t-rex was a large, bulking and heavy set predator even though both predators have tiny arms and walked on two legs. We are going to check out the reasons why the Carnotaur had the horns it had and we are going to check out all of its other nifty characteristics. It should be noted though that to appreciate dinosaurs properly, it takes more than just fossils and facts. One really has to have genuine wonder and interest in what the dinosaurs were- and this takes a bit of imagination. One really needs to understand that the dinosaurs were amazing creatures which came in all shapes and sizes and which really probably never exist again. That means we have to make images in our mind about how the dinosaurs looked, how they acted, and even how they smelled and what they sounded like. When you really imagine what the dinosaurs were you start to experience wonder and awe about just how mysterious and cool nature and earth really are. Now let's take a step back in time and walk with the dinosaurs!
Ponies For Kids - Amazing Animal Books For Young Readers Table of Contents Introduction What are ponies? What do ponies eat? How do ponies act? Miniature horses versus ponies Welsh ponies Chinese Guoxia ponies Fell ponies Miyako ponies Tibetan ponies Quarter ponies Kerry bog ponies Mongolian horses Conclusion Author Bio Introduction Ponies are the pet that many girls and boys long for. They are in TV shows and movies, in books and on stickers. But what exactly is the animal like, and what makes a pony a pony? They actually have long had use in many parts of the world not always as a beloved pet, but as a work horse. Ponies are strong, and they are used by many different peoples, from Tibetans to the British. As an animal, they are easier to take care of than horses in some ways. For instance, they consume less food than horses; they are also not able to jump as high. Ponies have been around for almost as long as any nation can remember. Ponies were ridden by Eurasian Steppe peoples (such as the Huns or Mongols) and they have long been kept by both nomad peoples and sedentary (meaning people who live in one place, such as a city or a farm) peoples. The pony is a staple of the farm around the world, and if ponies had not existed, those at the corners of civilization would have had a much harder time getting by.

Shade Plants to Avoid Best Sheltering Plants Pests and Diseases Rhododendron Types and Hybrids Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction The moment you hear the word "rhododendron", you immediately think that the name sounds familiar, especially in gardening circles. But it is surprising to know that even though most gardeners are familiar with the term "rhododendrons", and many of us are going to recognize a flower of this genus, when he received, comparatively few people realize the possibilities and scope of this genus in its magnificence and potential. The whole genus includes the original varieties and different species, as well as hybrids. The ancient Greeks and Romans knew about the value of these pretty flowering trees, and they gave this genus its name that has come down the centuries - Rhodon for Rose, and "dendron" for tree. But even though this genus may be called Rhododendron, you are going to find very few tree species here. More than 1000 woody plants make up this family. They are either deciduous, or evergreen. They are supposedly native to the Himalayan regions of Asia and major portion of China and Myanmar but they are still widespread all over the Appalachian Mountains and oak - heath forests in North America. That is the reason why a number of States have rhododendrons, as their state flowers. These include West Virginia in the US as well as Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir in India. Rhododendrons are also Nepal's national flower where they are called "Lali Guransh." Rhododendron macrophyllum is Washington's state flower. It is commonly known as the Pacific Rhododendron.
Living Off the Land - A Beginner's Guide to Being Self-sufficient Table of Contents Introduction Chapter 1: It's What You Do With What You've Got That Matters Proper management includes keeping your pastures in good shape. Chapter 2: Moo, Bah, Cluck And Oink Chapter 3: Eat Your Veggies Chapter 4: Fruits, Herbs And Flowers Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction There's a little bit of pioneer spirit in all of us. We can't help it...it's in our blood. For some this pioneer spirit shows itself in someone's determination to climb to the top of the corporate ladder. But for others, this pioneer spirit takes them back to their roots...literally; giving them the desire to be self-sufficient to the greatest extent possible. If you are reading this book you are most likely someone wanting to be more self-sufficient. Good for you! With the cost of food going higher and higher every week (literally) and the nearly-constant revelations of the negative effects of chemicals, processed foods and other things we ingest, it's a shame more people aren't willing to do more to get back to the basics of providing for themselves. Yes, it's true you may raise a few eyebrows or be asked if you're hooked on reruns of "Little House on the Prairie", but that's okay. Besides, I bet those same people will be wishing they would have been a little less critical when you're giving away excess produce. Anyway...the purpose of this book is to give you the direction and encouragement you need to be able to be as self-sufficient as possible. So without further ado...let's get started.

For millenniums, one of the main criteria of a beautiful and physically attractive person is considered to be the skin. A skin without any blemishes, ageless, without wrinkles, glowing, healthy, and with a luminosity is considered to be one of the top priorities of a health-conscious person. Taking care of your skin is definitely not considered to be a narcissistic attitude. Instead, it shows that you intend to look good for your own self pride and ego. In many parts of the world, where I have been, I have seen plenty of women saying that they have not bothered looking after themselves, after a certain age, because people are going to say that they still want to hold onto their passing youth. How absurd! In fact, these women are going to be appreciated even more, if the people around them show that they are well kept, well groomed, and take care of themselves, which includes hair, body, and skin. This book is going to tell you all about how you can keep your face ageless, tackle teenage acne, and get rid of skin problems through natural remedies and cures.

How Horses Are Born Just before giving birth, a young pregnant horse gets into the right position. During its delivery, you will immediately see the first front foot coming out, followed by the second foot, then its nose. After the head is seen, the shoulders and the head are next, and this is known to be the most difficult part. After this challenging part, the hind legs and hips will come out easily until the baby horse, which is called colt (boy) and filly (girl) is completely out. Popular Terms for Horses Horse lovers often use terms which only them can understand. For someone, who is interested about horses, here are some common terms that you need to learn: 1. Aged - this is what you call a horse that is more than nine years old already 2. Backyard horse - this is a kind of horse that does not live in a barn. Instead, it lives with its owner or master. 3. Colt - this refers to a young horse that is less than four years old and has not been castrated yet. 4. Dam - this is what you call the mother of the horse 5. Filly- this refers to a young female horse that is below four years old 6. Foal- this is a baby pony or horse that is still under its mother's care 7. Normally, a horse reaches 30 years, but it can still extend up to 40 years old. To determine its age, veterinarians examine and check the incisors (teeth) of the upper and lower jaws. It is very normal to talk about a horse' speed. The slowest speed is called walk and a bit faster than this is called trot. If you see a little faster than a trot, it is called canter and the fastest speed is called gallop. Read more animal books at http: //AmazingAnimalBooks.com

Table of Contents Introduction Soil Classification Soil series Soil Type Soil Class Mineral Soils Sandy Soils Sandy Loams Loam Soils Silt Loams Clay Loam Peat Soils and Muck Characteristics of Muck Soil Importance of Muck Soil Soil Preparation Tillage Drainage Subsiding of the Soil Plowing Fall Plowing Harrowing and Disking Dragging and Rolling Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction For many people who work outdoors on their land, the feel of the soil between their fingers is enough to give them a feeling of euphoria and satisfaction. This book is going to tell you all about how you can get the best of your land through knowing more about the types of soils, and soil preparation. When you learn more about the types of soils, especially in your area, you can go out, and look at those soils and classify them accordingly. After that, you are going to know all about their plus and minus points and how best you can enrich the soil, naturally, and get the best out of this land, given to us by nature, by right of inheritance. The soil is the storage house of mineral nutrients and water used by higher plants as well as the home of their roots. Therefore, it is necessary for you to know all about the physical and chemical composition of the soil with regards to crop production. The chemical composition can be changed by adding fertilizers and other materials, and to some extent by tillage, proper drainage, and other methods which are going to favor soil aeration. The physical condition can be changed by drainage, by tillage, by plowing, by incorporating rich organic matter, and by use of lime and other materials. Unless the soil is in good physical condition, you are not going to get large yields. That is the reason why so many gardeners, as well as farmers, get disheartened, when they find their yields, not up to their expectations. What they may have overlooked is that they have done absolutely nothing in order to enrich the soil. So if you are not feeding mother Earth with rich fertilizer or giving her enough water, and leaving it to the rains to nourish the ground and water it, and leaving the land to overflow with weeds because you could not be bothered to take care of the land, how would you expect her to give you abundantly of her bounty? Also, good natural fertilizer practice, good seed, and the best of care is not going to ensure success unless the soil is already of good texture and is well prepared before hand. So this book is now going to tell you all about the different kinds of soils, soil classification, and how best you can take full advantage of rich soil in order to get a good and fruitful harvest year after year after year.

Table of Contents Preface SECTION I - Getting Started Chapter # 1: An Introduction Chapter # 2: Between the lines Chapter # 3: Added Beneifts Chapter # 4: Switching to the Paleo Diet SECTION II - Paleo Specifics Chapter # 1: Importance of BCAAs Chapter # 2: Importance of Simple Carbs SECTION III - Diet Plan Chapter # 1: Basic Paleo Plan Chapter # 2: Pre-work out meals Chapter # 3: Post-work out meals Chapter # 4: Breakfast Chapter # 5: Lunch Chapter # 6: Dinner Conclusion References Try our diet and get leaner; try our diet and you'll lose 10 pounds in a week, try our diet and you'll never have to do cardio again; and the list goes on and on. In today's world dieting has become more of a business than a way to benefit people's lives. There are hundreds of diets out there and dozens making their way into the market, all cleverly advertised to target the core weakness of every consumer: A promise to make your life better. This is largely a hollow promise but still 'health corporations' succeed in trapping hundreds of thousands of people. So the question arises what is so special about the Paleo diet that makes it worth trying? For starters, the Paleo diet isn't a new thing; it wasn't created a few years or decades ago by some professor in a testing lab. The Paleo diet was a result of humans' fight for survival, it was what our ancestors used to eat 10,000 years ago; right around the time when there were no grocery stores, super markets and fast-food. Eating wasn't something to do in free time; to eat one had to search for his/her food, hunt it down and cook it in/on whatever was available. Thus, Paleo is not just a diet it's a lifestyle, one which will truly make your life healthier. The Paleo diet was just revived and popularized in the 70s by a Gastroenterologist Walter L. Voegtlin. This led to one research paper after another, one book after another being published by several doctors and nutritionists. By the 90s the Paleo diet had made its mark on the dieting market and had started to shape the dieting landscape. Practitioners started to create derivatives of the diet, synthesizing the pure Paleo meals by adding extra 'ingredients'. In this book, I will only be using pure Paleo meals as a guide to a 'better life'. This book is written keeping in mind the physical side of a healthier lifestyle. You'll see how athletes can benefit from the Paleo diet; be it swimmers, wrestlers, runners, or players of any game. The claims will be backed by scientific evidence and you'll see progress within weeks.

Cultivating the Soil Enemies of Your Garden Storing Vegetables for the Winter Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Did you know that even in a small city lot, a large amount of pleasurable and profitable work in growing plants can be possible right where there is some soil available in which to plant things? It does not matter if you just have a pocket handkerchief sized backyard. If you want to know more about gardening for pleasure and gardening for profit, this book is going to give you some easy to implement tips and techniques so that you can start up this relaxing and amusing hobby right now. There is nothing quite so soul satisfying as getting your hands into rich and fertile earth and soil in order to grow something right now. You may make up a flower garden to beautify the outside of your house. A vegetable and fruit garden is going to furnish you with a continuous source of food of the best kind at a low cost. Both of these are going to give you plenty of opportunity for healthy outdoor exercise, while furnishing a source of pleasure to the one who cares for them and watches their development throughout the seasons. If you have a large yard, the vegetable and fruit gardens are going to yield you financial return, as well as keep your home table, kitchen and cellar supplied with fresh vegetables and fruit produce. Before beginning the actual work on planting, it is much more satisfactory to make a paper plan. This can be done in late winter before you intend any work done outdoors. Ask the neighboring nurseries for catalogs. You may also want to ask your neighbors about giving you some seedlings from their own gardens. This plan is going to consist of a map of your grounds drawn to a proper scale. This will show the location of the buildings, boundaries, trees, shrubbery, and other plants which have already been planted there. For example, this illustration can show you the plan of a herb garden. Along with an outer boundary limit, there is going to be an inner square, a center square, and the herbal bed areas. You can make your plan according to your own wish, but it is always sensible to ask the advice of an experienced gardener to look at your land and tell you about the right places where you can plant borders, hedges, beds, walks, and so on.

That is because the symbolism of the rose has been passed down through the ages since Classical Times. The word "rose" is still used to express the color pink or red in Greek, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Romanian - the Romance languages. It is believed that this woody perennial originated in Asia, and there were 160 species, which grew in number, thanks to the Empress Josephine's interest in collecting one example of all the existing roses from 1815 to 1830. It is thanks to her that the interest in hybridization of roses began to grow in France, and from there, it spread to the rest of Europe. As hybridization of roses is an easy process, those 160 species grew up into 6000 species of roses of cultivars and hybrids. Prevost and Pepinieriste wrote down 880 names of different rose species in their Rose catalog. But other rose species, which were native to northwest Africa and North America were already being in use for medical purposes, cooking purposes, beautification purposes, and also as symbols, since ancient and medieval times. The idea of My Love Is like a Red Red Rose has been en vogue for centuries. Why is this so, because a rose is normally accompanied with "thorns" which were a defensive protective epidermal outgrowths. The original roses or creepers, and they managed to cling to plants with the help of these thorns. The idea of Roses for love have come down the millenniums as from the classical times when the rose was associated and identified with Venus - Aphrodite.

It seems she saw essential oils floating on the surface of the water pools where rose petals floated day in day out. She asked some slaves to collect that oily liquid and began to make perfumes for the other ladies of the harem. And so the essential oil and perfume industry was born in the Indian subcontinent. Sherlock Holmes is going to raise an eyebrow at this story. "My dear Watson, this story is a figment of the Eastern imagination. Unless of course we supposed the rooms to be so boiling hot that the steeped petals released their essential oils. Or the room temperature of those closed up areas was so high that steam condensed to get Rosewater and Rose oil. And one knows that the art of distilling and extracting essential oils has been known to the wise men and women of the East and of the best for millenniums. They have been using these essential oils for aromatherapy, for massage oils, for tinctures, lotions, ointments, decoctions and any other beauty or herbal remedies. So I will take this Rose oil, and the Empress story with a pinch of salt. QED. Where is my violin?" Since ancient times, human beings understood that plants had something in them, which could be used, through extraction. This magic product was oils. There are two types of essential oils obtained from plants - volatile oils and fixed oils.

Driven to Look Good Optimum Weight Concept Are Weight Charts Right? Psychological Effect of Weight Chart Watching Body Mass Index - BMI Health risk of Slim People Other Factors Affecting Good Health Healthy and happy! Dos and Don'ts While Weight Watching Eating Habit Disorders Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Did you know that more and more of us are getting obsessed with our weights, in the twenty first century? That is because the demands of society and the dictates of fashion have deemed it necessary for us to be as thin as telegraph poles in order to be considered attractive. This sort of obsession has appeared only in the twentieth century, after the First World War, when there was a dearth of food to eat, and half of the world was starving. It was then that the androgynous look was born, especially in matters of fashion, and people who were totally skeletal in form and figure were considered to be cool, hep, and "with it." Time has gone by, the food availability situation has changed but still the notion that you need to be thin and slim with zero fat is still persisting in the mind, heart, body and soul of nearly everybody out there, who wants to be considered attractive, good-looking and desirable. Let me give you an example. Pick up any stupid soppy romantic fiction novel out there. Look at the hero. He is musclebound with zero fat. Look at the heroine - she is slim, thin, and possibly bony. Fiction writers want us to believe that these are the only sort of people, who can be attractive to each other, and this is the subconscious notion being fed in, into us, through the media, the books we read, and any other publications out there. This book is going to tell you all about weight watching, getting obsessed about your weight, weight charts, and everything else you need to know all about proper weight. We know that being overweight is bad for health, because that can lead to plenty of diseases, especially cardiac problems. On the other hand, starvation is also going to lead to even more diseases, because you are now going to be suffering from malnutrition. So this book is going to tell you how to get rid of that weight watching obsession and stop being a weighing scales addict. Uncontrolled eating habits during childhood itself can lead to weight problems as an adult.

Drop by the Kuchel Visitor Center Chapter 6: Where to Stay Conclusion Author Bio Publisher The Redwoods Northern California's Redwoods is known for its sky-rising forests which are entirely unique to California. These forests draw visitors from all over the world to witness the towering giants in the vast wilderness. These mesmerizing landscapes and old forests which display truly exceptional characteristics are composed of both sequoias and redwoods which fascinatingly soar up to the skies. These trees have been used and referred to interchangeably by many. However, these two are largely different and make up the notable tree species. Distinct to the northern lands in California, these tree types share that unique brownish red bark as well as the tendency to grow to greater heights. More so, these trees vary in climate requirements in order to thrive. The giant or coastal redwoods (sequoia sempervirens) are distinct from its relative tree which is the giant sequoia (sequoiadendron giganteum) basically because of its environmental requirements. As the name suggests, the giant coastal redwoods survive in moist or humid climates because it is where the marine fog delivers the necessary climate to enable its growth. The fog is the source of moisture to the soil which also helps trap it, thus lowering evaporation rates. The giant or coastal redwoods usually outgrow their relatives and may stand up to 378 feet in height. On the other hand, the giant sequoias survive in the higher elevation locations compared to the giant redwoods. They grow naturally along the slopes of the Sierra Nevada's, most of which stands at 5,000 - 7,000 feet elevation. The giant sequoias also need periodic heat so that their cones open and produce seeds. These trees still grow to imposing heights of 311 feet but are relatively shorter than their coastal counterparts. But although the giant sequoias lack in height, they still make up for their wider size which considerably outweighs the giant redwoods. Because of its sheer volume, it is the giant sequoias that hold title to being the largest tree in the world. The General Sherman, which is known for being the most gigantic of all sequoias, weighs in at an astounding 2.7 million pounds and stands supreme at around 275 feet from the base which was also measured at 100 feet wide. The General Sherman is not only known as the largest tree but it has also been named as the largest living organism of the earth. The people know about the Redwoods as the home to the tallest trees in the world. But apart from housing the giant trees, Redwood parks, and forests still cover and protect large prairies, gushing river ways, oak woodlands and a long 40-mile stretch of primeval coastline, making up an abundantly rich wildlife environment characterized by great diversity. These natural beauties serve not only as a source of enjoyment, but also of inspiration and education to the people.

One such garden plant was the Aloe Vera, which was a must on every gardener's gardening list. It was always grown in a sunny area, outside the kitchen, and watered once every four or five days, or when one remembered to water it. This green plant was not very attractive to someone who liked flowers around them in their strictly regimented and well disciplined borders and beds. But it was extremely attractive to all those who wanted to know all about the medicinal qualities of this bitter tasting mucilaginous succulent. Also, it did not need lots of fussing to grow. Once it was planted, it flourished as an everlasting perennial Aloe Vera has been used for millenniums in ancient medicine recipes and remedies, down the ages and in different ancient civilizations. There was a time when it was supposed to grow over large areas in the wild in North Africa, Morocco and other regions around the Sahara desert region, which was once covered with green forests. But as the now desert area began to dry, this plant started dying out in the wild. Every ancient civilization's medical teachers would tell their students, "Do not underestimate the power of the humble Aloe Vera, my son, because this plant under your kitchen window is going to keep you and your family healthy. Your children shall never suffer from any grave disease internally or externally, your wife shall remain everlastingly beautiful and you shall live a happy and prosperous life, as long as you know all about the benefits of this magical plant." No wonder, it was considered to be a wonder plant by ancient herbalists and medicine men. Women knew all about its skin rejuvenating quantities millenniums ago, and I am sure that any ancient Egyptian queen would have told her tire woman - are you making up a skin beautifying remedy for me, with asses milk and spices and attar of roses? Add some Aloe Vera to it so that I may look like a goddess for mankind to worship." Cleopatra did that and so did Nefertiti. This book is going to tell you all about the magic of aloe Vera, its beneficial health and beauty properties, the use of Aloe Vera in ancient medicine, and also how you can use it in cooking.
The Science of Living - How to Raise Kids With Discipline and Values Table of contents Raising Successful Children Creating Healthy Routines for your kids How to Discipline a Child Effectively How to Discipline a Child According to Age Effective ways to Discipline Children -- That Work! How to Love Your Kids Ways to Bring Out the Best in Your Children Parenting to build character Kids and money Important Values to Teach Children Author Bio RAISING SUCCESSFUL CHILDREN PHRASES such as "helicopter parent" and "tiger mom" have made their way into the daily language. But does over-parenting help, or hurt? While parents who are embarrassingly and obviously inappropriate come in for ridicule, many people find themselves drawn to the idea that with just a little more parental elbow grease, they might turn kids with amazing talents and assured futures. The main question of whether there really is anything wrong with a kind of over-parenting lite still remains unanswered. Parental involvement has rich and long history of being studied and researched. Decades of research, many of them by renown clinical and developmental psychologists, have revealed that the optimal parent is one who is responsive and involved; who sets high expectations but still respects his/her kid's autonomy. The "authoritative parents" tend to hit the sweet spot of the appropriate parental involvement and usually tend to raise kids who perform better academically, socially and psychologically compared to kids whose parents are either more involved and controlling, or less involved and permissive.
