How do you define a hero? Your parents can be heroes. A football player who scores a winning touchdown is often referred to as a hero. Then there is Sir Nicholas Winton, whose actions in World War II saved the lives of 669 children. For 50 years, he told almost no one about what he did. When a child he saved, now in his sixties, asked why he did it, he said he felt compelled to do something after seeing the squalid conditions in the Czechoslovakian refugee camps.
