It was not a Sunday, the proper day for adventuring, but rather a calm Tuesday afternoon, one of the worst days for adventuring, when Edward was disturbed from his reading nook by Victoria. She had made a most curious discovery! Dragging him out of the library and down the road, Victoria was unable to describe clearly what she had found. Upon arriving at the tree under which the object rested, Edward is confounded as well; whether it is a who, a what, or just some crazed music box, neither of them can quite tell. They make the decision to take it back into town to someone who can discern its importance. What is revealed about the find will lead them on an adventure where kidnapers, pirates, and a legion of cranky old men will try and stand in their way on a course that could mean the difference between life and death-not just for them, but all humanity!
Victoria, a young girl desperate for adventure, plunges into a mystery when a folded scrap of paper slips from an old, dusty book plucked from a high corner shelf, tumbles to the library floor. This curious note starts Victoria down a path that takes her to some of the more creepy and ominous reaches of her small country town. From hidden secret passages, long forgotten beneath the burned out mill, to the old flickering lights of a worn down asylum, no one knows where this journey will take Victoria. Will she uncover a kidnapping, solve a murder, or worse, get a reputation for being the stinky kid?
