"My daughter, this makes three times in two months that you've confessed months that you've confessed adultery. If you were sorry, if the previous penances had done some good, you wouldn't be confessing it again.""True. I tell myself not to sin, but my heart aches for him so I do. I regret the sin, but not the acts that contain it." Father Hiver sighed. "It wouldn't quite so bad if this man weren't married, didn't have children. You really are blessed to love and be loved. There's too little of that in the world. It's your choice of lover that offends God."

Arbor and Winepress marks Lennart Lundh's 50th year as a published poet. It's fifty-six poems, which have appeared in print and on-line journals, magazines, and anthologies between 1967 and 2016, are gathered in a single volume for the first time. Reader Praise for Arbor and WinepressStory as poem, meditation as poem, memory as poem, prayer as poem, and man as poem writing it all down, Arbor and Winepress is an honest collection of accessible poems that examines a life of words, questions, love, people, nature, and places. When the narrator in "Your Blue-eyed Boy" says, "Death, / you're really beginning to / piss / me / off", Lundh speaks to everybody who values courage, acceptance, and humor, qualities that permeate nearly every page. -- Gary Rainford, author of Salty LiquorThere is a shoebox in a closet. It is filled with photos, postcards, letters, mementos, maybe an old mix tape. The box is handed from a grandchild to a grandfather. The grandfather takes the time to tell the stories of every item in the box. The tales are told lovingly and honestly. The child listens in awe. We are all the grandchildren of Arbor and Winepress learning bits and pieces about a life. This is an incredibly well written and well assembled collection. -- David (Buddha 309) Hargarten, poet/publisher/word monkeyArbor and Winepress is a succinct and evocative collection of introspective ruminations, romantic nostalgias, and the complicated acknowledgement of the passage of time. The magic of Lennart's writing aims each poem straight for the heart, opening the door to the reader's own relationship with the human condition. A "must read" for any poetry lover!-- Jen Pezzo, author of Imaginary Conversations (The Poet's Haven) and Lucid Brightenings (Writing Knights Press)Everything Lennart Lundh says makes absolute sense, but when you read it, the words feel brand new and unexpected. His words challenge the reader to dive further and further into the world he builds with every poem. His ability to build tension in a piece is a rare find in any written genre.-- Azriel Johnson, Director of Writing Knights PressThough these selected poems span nearly 50 years of writing, they read as a cohesive, elegant whole wherein the author's voice is clear, succinct, and compelling throughout. There is a sophisticated use of description and an overall sense of nostalgia within each poem. Heartwarming lines such as "fresh-picked flowers in a child's hand" and "a baby's bottle dripped across my vest" evoke both memory and tender kindness. Likewise, the description emanated in lines such as "What thoughts I tongue-tie go uncaught" and "ink turned brown with the years like mouse droppings" capture the reader's attention and hold a meaningful, lasting impression. This collection is an enthralling read for all.-- Siddartha Beth Pierce, author of the poetry and art collections In the Beginning and the End (Writing Knights Press) and I Do, Ripple, and Fit Me Like a Glove (Inner Child Press). This collection of poems is filled with a lot of sweetness and longing. Most every poem has some small nugget of insight among the vignettes the poems share with us. Lennart's life experiences and self-deprecating wisdom are shared with a gentle touch. Loss, humor, melancholy, and nostalgia are all presented with the self-reflection of a life well lived. Highly recommended if you want a relaxing read that will take a strong tug at your heart.-- Christina M. Brooks, author at The Poet's Haven

Jazz Me is Lennart Lundh's tenth book of poetry. Continuing his overarching themes of love and loss, war and peace, the selected prose poems found here are by turn personal and universal in their examination of what it means to be human."The prose poems of Jazz Me resonate within a reader like the song of a struck bell. When the poems aren't haunting the reader, they are busy delighting. Lennart is a scientist of the unsaid, a Maestro of unmentionables. The duty of a fine book is to take the reader -- heart, body and mind -- on a journey tothat place one desires to stay just one more moment. Jazz Me fulfills, satisfies its duty."Frank Rutledge: Clothed in August Skin"Like the characters of his prose poetry, Lennart Lundh writes with a clear punctuation: strong and assured. In Jazz Me, you will find clips, vignettes really, of both dreamers and realists, vividly painted and lushly described. But you will also find moments, like those in "Being Human," that leave you a little knocked over, a little out of breath and holding close to the poignancy of these shared moments."Jen May: Battle Cry"From opening poem to closing poem, Jazz Me plays like a mind-blowing set--the kind one used to find in old, famous, battered bars, where only the best played. The intelligence of choreographed improvisation fuels this book. Each section, each poem, leads by unexpected notes, into the next. We need more poets like Lennart Lundh; we need more books like this."Lucy M. Logsdon: The Burning Girl; former Program Coordinator, The National Book Awards"From the pen of accomplished and most prolific poet Lennart Lundh comes Jazz Me, a treasured collection of inspiring, thought-provoking poems that hold universal appeal and resonate with the soul. Lundh's latest contribution to his chest of literary gems is not to be missed. Amazing not only is the volume of Lennart's offerings, but the sheer quality of his tone that shines like a light throughout his work. We should expect to hear more, much more, from this masterful, gifted writer and speaker."Wayne Mutza: The Fire Within"This beautifully written, original collection of poems in prose strikes out for new territory, taking the prose poem in a more confessional direction, yet the at times painful, at times positive nature of the work does not, like much poetry, become self-centered. A superb and moving read."Chuck Taylor: Poet and Vampire (a gothic novel of poems in prose)"It takes a poet with a musical spirit to pull off an entire book of prose poetry. Lennart Lundh proves his spirit can sing in his new prose poem collection Jazz Me. Lundh's many voiced speaker moves through a series of astute observations about the human condition using a physical "...banter that turns into butterflies hatched / from the arching passion in [our] bell[ies] and hips and spine[s]..." Lundh's unflinching observations on aging and its challenges leave wonder in their wake and the reader nodding in affirmation that both sorrow and joy maintain footholds on this always uncertain terrain of love and loss we call living."Joani Reese, editor, essayist, and author of the poetry chapbooks Final Notes and Dead Letters and a full hybrid collection of prose and poetry, Night Chorus, from Lit Fest Press.

Originally designed in 1952 as an anti-submarine warfare platform for the U.S. Navy, almost two-thousand Sikorsky H-34s have served on every continent with the armed forces of twenty-five countries from combat in Algeria, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and throughout southeast Asia, to saving flood victims, recovering astronauts, fighting fires, and carrying presidents, military H-34s have met every challenge handed them. With continuing post-military service, the number of countries which the H-34 has called home has swelled to nearly fifty. Revitalized with turbine engines, it has yet to fade from sight. Whether lifting construction material or supporting police departments, the DC-3 of helicopters will still be flying on its fiftieth anniversary. The most detailed account of the H-34 to appear, Lennart Lundhs Sikorsky H-34 reflects over a decade of research. It takes the reader through the H-34 from nose to tail, and across its service from Argentina to Vietnam. Few of the photographs have been published before, and many are drawn from private collections. A special feature is the chapter of impressions and anecdotes from fourteen H-34 crew members.
