On May 26, 1978, I attended Frank Sinatra's last appearance at the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill NJ. Seated near the stage, I shot one roll of ASA 400 black and white film. It took about 25 minutes from start to finish. Sometime later that summer, my friend Susan Rose developed the film and printed the photographs. For almost 38 years, these photos have been in file folders, in drawers, and for the past eight years, in my garage. Remarkably they have survived, a glorious record of Sinatra still at his incomparable best. Look at the photos and hear his voice in your head. Enjoy. NOTE: The interior photos are printed on non-glossy paper. They still look great but not as great as the glossy photos on the cover.

In the long-awaited sequel to Mr. Weinstein's widely acclaimed first novel, The Heretic ... Benjamin and Esther Catalán have escaped the Inquisition in Spain and are seeking to re-build their lives as Jews and printers in Florence under the protection and patronage of Lorenzo de Medici, one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in Europe. Their promising future is threatened, however, as they are caught up in a secret plot to murder Lorenzo and his brother Giuliano, with the devious Pope Sixtus IV at the center of the conspiracy. Tension builds as the Pope's plan is put in motion and the Medici family responds. Based on actual historical events, The Pope's Conspiracy offers an enticing view of Renaissance Florence at the peak of its artistic and political glory, and also of the heroic struggles of a talented and ambitious Jewish couple trying to find their place in an oftenhostile Christian world. The Catalan's skills as printers provide not only their initial link to Lorenzo, but also their standing as a valued part of the small Florentine Jewish community. The technology of Gutenberg's printing press and the organization of a printing business play featured roles in the novel.Readers who loved Benjamin and Esther Catalan in The Heretic will be excited to see their development in The Pope's Conspiracy, as individuals and as a couple.

A FLOOD OF EVIL tells the story of German Catholic boy from Munich who becomes a Nazi and a Jewish girl from the Polish shtetl of Ciechanow who becomes an internationally known journalist. Improbably, they fall in love and join forces to try to stop the rise of Hitler. The story covers the years 1923-1933, and a sequel set against the events of 1934-1945 is currently being written. What readers say about A FLOOD OF EVIL ...... Very few writers can successfully write historical fiction as compellingly as Lewis M. Weinstein.... This is one of the best books I have ever read! It is historical fiction of the highest order.... Weinstein brings the rhetoric of hatred, fear and abuse of power of the Hitler Regime to life in the personal love story of two young people.... The characters are so realistic it is easy for the reader to become involved in their lives.... There is literally never a dull moment in the book.... The author's research on so many levels was mind boggling.... His style of writing draws you in to the room and you feel sometimes like you are another character in the corner.... a powerful and complex story about love, fear and the corrosive abuse of political power

Richard Lambert ... the former FBI lead investigator on the anthrax investigation, says the bureau has tried "to railroad the prosecution of Ivins" and that "a staggering amount of exculpatory evidence" regarding Dr. Ivins remains secret.Congressman Rush Holt ... There were no fingerprints, no witness accounts, no physical evidence linking Ivins to the incident. We need a blue-ribbon commission to review the anthrax attack and the FBI's flawed investigation.Senator Patrick Leahy (one of the two Senate targets of the attack) ... does not believe the FBI's case against Ivins.Senator Chuck Grassley ... "There are no more excuses for avoiding an independent review and assessment of how the FBI handled its investigation in the anthrax case.Senator Arlen Specter ... the FBI they could never have obtained a conviction against Ivins in court based on the case they have made public.Does fiction sometimes foretell reality? It certainly seems that way in Lewis M. Weinstein's fictionalized story of an anthrax scare ... a thriller that seems to track closely with real-life events, even as they unfold today. This updated edition of Case Closed follows Weinstein's passion for seeing the truth come out in the FBI's handling of the Amerithrax Case.
