Legend has it that there was a mutiny in Heaven. The lesser gods like Agwe, Ogun, Erzulie, and a multitude of others were sent to Earth into exile to live amongst the humans. These gods have shared the foods, and the rum, and have often given in to their carnal desires. They picked Ephemera a chain of islands in the Caribbean including Mahogany Island, a place of infinite beauty branded "The Pearl of the Antilles" but prone to disasters often caused by her own inhabitants. God had a change of heart and dispatched the recently deceased Tonton Fortune as a sage to Mahogany Island. His mission: To warn the youths of the dangers ahead for their piece of paradise if the Mahogany Islanders did not change their ways. Should they raise an army to eradicate the gangs and the violence that has taken over the land? Or should they garner all their inner strength, ally themselves with their environment, and offer a nonviolent alternative to rescue their dying nation from the abyss? Mahogany Island shall not die! Mahogany Island shall not die!
Immigrants are like dream-chasers. When Jacques decided to migrate to America, all he wanted was to get the opportunity to pursue his education and embrace the profession of his dream. Little did he know that he would be facing seemingly insurmountable challenges. First, he is afflicted with seizures quickly labeled as intractable by the best experts in the field. Then he starts experiencing recurring dreams about a frightening black skull. Jacques is a man with a haunted soul. He is cursed. He feels cornered and quickly descends into the entrails of psychosis. The behavioral scientists are baffled. Jacques seems lost... until he accepts his mother's suggestion that he should reconnect with his ancestral roots. Not an easy proposition! To summon the mystical forces of the invisible world to his rescue, Jacques will need to enlist the help of that one person endowed with the gift, a wizard that will preside over the ceremonies, the rituals, and the incantations understood only by the initiates...
