Die Songtexte von Umweltsongs mit aktuellen Umweltthemen bilden die Grundlage dieses Übungsbuches, das als Digital- und Printversion angeboten wird. Sie liegen in differenzierter Form für das erste (Level 1) und ab dem zweiten Lernjahr (Level 2) vor. Die Konzeption bietet im Bereich "Word training" einfache, im Bereich "Exercises" anspruchsvollere sprachliche Übungen an. Es steht die Frage im Raum, was geschieht, wenn die Erde heiß wird: What happens then when the earth gets hot"?"In my little garden" beschreibt das vielfältige Leben im Garten: "Lots of little creatures live in my little garden". Neben Lebewesen wie z.B. Igel, Schnecken und Hummeln werden Löwenzahn, Gänseblümchen und Kirschen erwähnt. Kräuter wie Thymian und Koriander sind Teil dieses wortreichen Songs. "Let the birds fly!" regt zum Nachdenken über die Notwendigkeit von Flugreisen an: "People stay on the ground, mind how you travel around". Bewegungen wie schwimmen, fahren, klettern und herumspringen werden aufgegriffen. Das Fliegen soll den Vögeln überlassen bleiben. Der Song "Protect the earth!" spricht die aktuelle Situation zum Klimaschutz an. Der Text fordert dazu auf, etwas zu tun und es nicht noch schlechter werden zu lassen:"Protect the earth! Don't make it any worse!". "There is no PLANet B!" weist darauf hin, dass es nur diese eine Erde gibt, die geschützt werden muss - und keinen PLANeten B! In my work as a special needs teacher, I work with students with learning difficulties for 1 or 2 hours a week. The majority of the students I work with show a lack of motivation towards school work and a lack of a global vision of learning. Students with learning delays frequently display specific cognitive characteristics, such as a poorly organized knowledge base, difficulties with organization, transfer and generalization, and weak associative functions1. So, I asked myself the following questions: how can we support the student effectively? What should I prioritize, given the limited time available for my intervention? How could I convey to the student a sense of pleasure and of schoolwork? So I decided to look for answers in neuroscience, neuropsychology and neuropedagogy3. Without falling into the educational illusion that neuroscience can explain and guide everything, it must be said that it does provide a scientific and up-to-date basis for teaching that is likely to enlighten practice.
