Hún var ein af fyrstu frægu kanadísku rithöfundunum og var frægasti höfundur síns tíma í Norður-Ameríku. Hún skrifaði 47 skáldsögur og fjöldann allan af smásögum. Agnes M. Fleming lést í Brooklyn í New York árið 1880, aðeins 39 ára gömul.
