Holidays aren't immune to tragedy. This lesson is no stranger to the beautiful seaside town of Newport, Rhode Island. With Christmas rapidly approaching, Gail Hawkins, owner of the states only orphanage, (Hawkins House) is busy preparing a wonderful holiday for the children that she considers her own. With less than a week until Christmas Day, a terrible threat hangs over the Hawkins House and leaves Gail and her staff in fear of the orphan's safety. Gail quickly realizes that having friends in the right places can arm you with the defense of the town's local Law enforcement and its community members. Sometimes, knowing the right people isn't enough and when children go missing from the orphanage, Gail enlists the aid of a man who she's known for only one day and her seaside neighbors to help her eliminate the danger that threatens her Orphanage and it's children. This rocky-coasted island is proud of its tight-knit community and consider themselves one big family. However, the citizens of Newport quickly learn that there is a bad seed among them. Read along with Gail as she faces the most horrific occurrence that Newport has ever seen. Betrayal, Love and Loss, Mystery and Suspense, Crime and Romance. This New England Island is weighed by anchors of many genres. Will tragedy sink them or can a strong small-town bond keep them afloat?
Officer Chase Spiritwalker drives down a dirt road when a coyote warns of death and then he finds the medicine man and dear friend, Joe Spirit Eyes near death along with another dead body in a dry wash. The killer leaves clues at the scenes leading Officer Spiritwalker feeling that Joe Spirit Eyes is connected in some way. The string of beads and the petroglyphs are all signs connecting to Joe. Just when Chase is dealing with the murders, the love of his life shows up. Newspaper reporter, Harmony Wind Dancer arrives on the scene wanting to take photos and gather all the information she can to print in the local newspaper. Officer Spiritwalker now has to deal with the murders and, his desires for Ms. Wind Dancer, as he discovers more of the Apache and Navajo Ways of the medicine man. Will it be too late? The truth lies within the boundaries of the reservations. Realizing the life of Harmony Wind Dancer is in jeopardy sends him into panic mode. When Harmony Wind Dancer disappears, he must turn to his visions and to the possibility that he is a shapeshifter to stop the killer. Will he be too late for Harmony and the residents of Coyote Canyon?
