When Yahushua (Jesus) arrived on the scene in the early first century and began preaching, he did so as a Jew in a Jewish context. His talmidim (disciples) we all Jews who practiced Judaism as it was understood in the second temple period. So how did what was simply another sect of Judaism become Christianity? What were the historical and theological changes that resulted in an anti-Semetic religion claiming a Jewish Messiah? This work, drawing on a variety of historical sources, traces the history of the Natzrim (the followers of the Nazarene) from "Pentecost" to Constantine. It explains the historical reasons for the abandonment of Judaism and the theological justifications developed to support it. In addition, it explains the role of Jew and Gentile in the early community and what they could or should be. The consequences of these changes were, and are, catastrophic for both Jew and Gentile. By understanding them, we can rebuild what Yahushua intended for his people.
America faces grave challenges in this second decade of the twenty-first century. Debt and deficits, moral degradation, terrorism, corruption, and unemployment, to name a few. The one thing all these problems have in common is that they were caused by government, made worse by more government and they will not be solved until we, as Americans, accept the fact that government is the problem and not the solution. If we are going to solve our problems and make it through this difficult time in our history, we must embrace the pure liberty of our heritage, the freedom for all promised in our founding documents. It is this generation over the next decade that will decide the future for our posterity and the fate of freedom in the world. Whether they curse us in the darkness or admire us for lifting the light of liberty once again is up to us.
Liberty is more than a political concept. It is the essence of a man's life, it encompasses his work and relationships, it enables him to fulfill his purpose and gives his life meaning. This work is not a dry textbook but a conversation between John Smith, an average man frustrated, oppressed and flailing about in his life, and Hashticharot. Each chapter focuses on one area of life and how John interprets it and puts it into practice. He learns about relationships, family, work, law, religion and government, to name a few. Liberty is a simple concept but it is hard to put into practice. I intend to enlighten and challenge you to learn to live the way men and women were meant to live. In a world of growing oppression and confusion, conflict and lies, understanding liberty will give clarity and hope. It is men and women who understand and live liberty who will save us all.
Do you want to live in the new normal? Where bands of thugs roam the streets of our cities, where there remain no monuments to our past, where silence reigns before the cultural bullies, where any executive can eliminate any right by fiat, where our most sacred liberties may only be exercised by permission. Is this the nation we want our children and grandchildren to inherit? This does not have to be the end but we cannot continue our contest for liberty as we have in the past. The despots, the socialists and communists, they have stacked the deck so far in their favor that the traditional methods of voting, protesting, the courts; well, the results speak for themselves-look where we are. The truth is we have gotten to this point because we have been cooperating with our own subjugation by accepting the premise that because we live in a democracy we are bound by whatever our elected representatives decide to do. We are not. If our rulers make decisions or pass laws that violate our rights, those laws and decisions are illegitimate, morally and legally according to our founding documents. We are under no obligation to comply. If we are to reclaim our liberty we must take non-compliance beyond the individual. In recent years we have seen both the left and the right utilize this tactic; Sanctuary Cities and Second Amendment Sanctuaries. But ALL our rights are under attack so we need a comprehensive approach. We need Constitutional Sanctuaries, places where the violation of our rights and the looting of our property is resisted within an 'inferior' body politic-cities, counties, even states. "Hashticharot's Revolution" is the sequel to "And Hashticharot Smiled" and follows five poker buddies in central Virginia who become part of a revolution to restore freedom. Through their actions and conversations they provide the rationale, motivation and practical implementation of a Constitutional Sanctuary. It is also an extrapolation of current events and trends to the near future and the characters provide plenty of insights into their negative effects on liberty. If you have been frustrated with our slide into tyranny, a slide that has become a plummet, if you have voted and marched and protested the abolition of our fundamental rights to no apparent effect, Hashticharot's Revolution provides a blueprint for actually restoring the liberty that is our birthright as Americans and human beings.
Since ancient times man has sought to understand the origins of the universe around him, and his place within it. Such speculations were once the sole purview of religion, but since the Enlightenment, science and rationality have also attempted to explain these mysteries, but from an opposing perspective. Conflict resulted and both sides dug in, clinging to dogmas that precluded any consideration of the other side."Genesis, Zen and Quantum Physics" enters the fray with a very unique approach. Believing that harmony, rather than conflict, defines the relationship between the Genesis account and modern science; the authors have retranslated the creation story according to the ancient Hebrew pictographic language and in the context of the nomadic culture from which the language and narratives arose. The resulting translation and its accompanying commentary challenge the common understanding of God, science, and the very reason for man's existence. By harmonizing an accurate biblical account with cutting edge scientific understanding, the authors present a mature religious ideal and an appreciation for the understanding of the ancients for modern scientific concepts. This is a book that will redefine your understanding of God, the world around you and your role within it.
