I remember sitting on the edge of my seat with my heart beating out of my chest, thinking - I can't go up there again - what will everyone think? This thought raced through my mind during an altar call from a woman preacher whose story forever changed my life. I had already been a Christian, but I wasn't living the life that God had called me to, until that day, when my life would change forever.

No! A thousand times No! Can one follow Jesus without their money getting involved (to help the poor)? No! A thousand times No! Until we come to this basic, Sermon on the Mount, foundational teaching of Jesus, we are not yet following him. Our heart is not yet in it. We have either been conned or we have deceived ourselves.
