Even today women continue to blaze a trail to make their mark by having to be better than their male counterpart to be able to compete in the corporate world. Thank to the wise matrons in aprons in the bible this struggle has always been going on with some very slow progress. It continues to be a male dominated society although much progress has been evident today, however still not a quickly as one would expect in a civilised society. It was only over fifty years ago that all women of every culture were allowed suffrage in Canada, a struggle which did not come without its share of grief.
There are forty-four stories contained in this anthology of stories. It is the third volume and all of them are guest stories. I take no credit for these stories. Many are my personal favourites, retold to my grandchildren for their enjoyment and edification. These tales run the gamut of legendary characters legends and folklores from around the world and countries such as the Unicorn, Captain Ahab, Jonah, and countries such as Greece, USA, Vietnam, China, Europe, Inuit folktales, Japan, India, Scandinavia, Australia and Congo to name a few. I hope to teach readers that all cultures are unique in their own rights and to instil in them respect for all cultures and all people regardless of their religious beliefs or cultural background. People are all the same despite cultural and linguistic differences. Be tolerant of all people in every circumstance. Do not judge others by the clothes they wear, the colour of their skin, their accent or the type of food they consume. We are all human beings and there is one language we all know how to speak: the language of Love. With love and tolerance, all barriers can be broken. A smile speaks a thousand words and gives off enough energy to warm the heart.
This is the third book of the Tin Train Series, a memoir by Norma Jean of the abuse suffered by her and her siblings while growing up in the Hilltop area of Columbus, Ohio.

This is the first in ten volumes of Anansi stories. There are stories about how Anansi caused fruit to grow around the world, the little white pig, the co-op farm and many more. Some of these stories are about the moon, common sense, sorrel and wisdom. Your little one will learn some valuable lessons on morality in these stories. I am sure they will have many questions for you after these stories are read.
I have thought of how best to introduce my Granddaughter to the history of Guyana and I hope I came up with a fun way that all children will enjoy. I attempted to tell a brief history of Guyana through the eyes of a Macaw who is the one of the longest living birds of the Amazon and Guyana rainforest. I have deemed this story as fiction because I worried about the accuracy of some of the written material to avoid challenges. Macaw tells how many changes his Grandparents and Great Grandparent have seen over the years and pass it all down to him as bed time stories. Mr. Macaw tells the history in 16 chapters, which I thought would be enough to read one chapter at a time to my little one. I want her to enjoy what she hears and learn to love her grand parent's heritage and culture. I wanted to stimulate the curiosity in her to want to visit Guyana and learn from what she heard in her childhood and to enjoy her visit there because she knows the history.
The stories in this book, the third is the series of stories from Guyana, are memories from my husband's childhood. They tell the life of a young Guyanese boy, Dennis, and his passion for his family and the game of cricket.
This is my second book on tales of the Caribbean and it was inspired by the first book that was so well loved. Fables and Tales are stories I have attempted to retell to the best of my memory for all the Caribbean and Guyanese/Canadian parents and grandparents to read to their little ones. It will enrich your relationship with them and help them to understand you even better and cherish these memories.

"Folktales from around the world" volume one is a collection of folklore from many countries such as Germany, Canada, America, India, Japan, Britain, Russia, Nigeria, Africa, Denmark, Ireland, Czech, Transylvania, Finland, Haiti, China, Native Mohawk. My motivation for retelling these folklores was for the benefit of my grandchildren. I wanted them to understand that every culture is unique in their own rights even though their language is different from that of others. Even though the other person might be of a distinct persuasion, they are regardless of the same. Be tolerant of all peoples in every circumstance. In our diverse society, it is very important that they learn to exercise tolerance at all times regardless. Although people are of a different culture or maybe eat unusual food, we are human beings. However, there is one language we all know how to speak and that is the language of Love and Kindness. With Love and tolerance, we can break all barriers. A smile can speak a thousand words as well as it can give off enough heat to warm the heart.

Memories and reflections is exactly what the title says. I recall the memories of the Masquerade at Holiday times like Christmas, the clothes hanging on the line, the Cane starting to burn or the friends who could not come out to play as they were pounding plantain for Foo fu. I even recall the big nipples that were the shape of a hat on a coke bottle full of porridge for the baby and many more of our childhood memories and reflections. Even if you aren't from Guyana, or any other poor country, you will be able to see how we really did have some great fun even with the little that we had in the stories I am happy to share with you here.
