Therefore, he was interested in Scottish folk song. He collected and prepared it to be published. When he was unsatisfied with lyrics in some of the songs, he revised it and arranged or wrote new lyrics on a former music. That is why many songs could be resurrected to life. And even though today we do not know the authors of the original music, at least we know the author of the lyrics. Therefore, we can play them on the Anglo Concertina (20 Button C/G) and admire the beautifully arched melodies. The canon is contrapuntal compositional technique, which sounds more complicated than it really is. When you go through known canons, you will find it easy. Somebody starts singing, other joins later and sings the same melody. Altogether It sounds beautiful. I arranged nine world songs and two classical compositions. Where the canons had opportunity to start at multiple sies, I made more versions. In addition, each version is modified twice. The first modification is for two ukuleles but one can be replaced by another instrument (flute, concertina, ocarina etc.) This modification is suitable for beginners who are learning synchronization with another player. The second modification is for solo ukulele where two voices are played by one ukulele. This version is suitable for advanced players. They are learning the voice independence. Voices in the canons are crossed very often, sometime it is useful to look at arrangement for two ukuleles and analyze how the voice is kept. The book includes a score and parts. Ondrej Sarek (1979) was born in Brno in the Czech Republic, where he studied composition at the Janacek Academy of Performing Arts in Brno prof. Frantisek Emmert and in parallel musicology at Masaryk University in Brno. Ondrej Sarek ´s composing is very diverse. In addition to music for chamber ensembles, symphony orchestra or choir he wrote three mini-operas, music for film, television, music for seven theater productions, folk and instrumental music for rock ensemble. His songs are played not only in this country but also on stages abroad (Poland, Bulgaria, Slovakia, England) and some of the songs took enough so they were issued abroad (USA, Germany, England). At various competitions Ondrej Sarek won eleven awards. Musical style of Ondrej Sarek simplifies gradually and absorbs into itself inspiration from folk music (mainly Central European). In addition to composing, Ondrej Sarek plays the folk instruments. His specialty is the ukulele, guitar, mandolin, mandola, tenor guitar, irish bouzouki, concertina and diatonic accordion. For these instruments wrote and arranged over two hundred and fifty books.

Czech musicologist and esthetician Otakar Hostinský (1847-1910) published in 1892 a collection of folk songs from the Czech Renaissance. This collection contains only the melody, so I created two versions of the song for everyone. The first one is just a melody, the second one is my proposal for harmonization added by me. The great propagator was the virtuoso of the ukulele John King. In this book, I tried to continue his style and combine the play where the melody is played with the Campanell style, while the other strings are used as the accompaniment. I wrote a fingering for left hand in tablature. Try to follow it as much as possible. Keep the left hand on the fingerboard as long as possible and let the strings sound over because it is characteristical of Campanella style. Have a nice time with ukulele.

Adam Václav Michna z Otradovic (1600 - 1676) Czech poet and composer. He belongs among most important early Czech Baroque composers, who influenced subsequent artist generation. Michna wrote and composed Czech Lute in 1653. It is the collection of 13 pieces. I cannot forgive and quote recommendations where and how to play songs from the first issue of notes. Hanakia is an ethnic region in central Moravia in the Czech Republic. Although these works are known as operas, they are much closer to be called singspiel. Long after its genesis they were popular and preserved in folk songbooks. For this book I chose two operas "Jora and Manda", and the second work "Marena and Kedrota". The village teacher Josef Pekárek (1758-1820) composed both operas. Libretto was writen by prior of Premonstratensian monastery Josef Mauritius Bulín (1744-1785). Have a nice experience with the music of classicism, which has its roots in folk music.

Gregorian chant belongs to the oldest music being preserved in such scope till present; moreover it is still performed but also is one that mostly influenced the history and presence of music. This book devotes to new tuning on ukulele e4-a3-d4-a4. It is divided into two parts. Firts part deals with chords, chord progressions and scales. There are 40 songs arranged for this tuning in the second part of the book. Why to deal with this tuning? 1. It is universal same as standard tuning g-c-e-a and it is possible to play in all keys. 2. This tuning is suitable for singers with lower voice. In standard tuning you can play easily in C, F and G major. In e-a-d-a tuning you can play well in A, D and E major. 3. This tuning has a new chord voicing than usual. Thus all chords will sound new and cool. 4. Some chord progressions can be touched on ukulele very easily what is advantage mainly for songwriters in writing new songs. 5. Niccolo Paganini (1782-1840) belongs to most famous violonists of all the periods. Except of violins he was able to play the mandolin and guitar as well. He composed for all instruments. I focused on compositions called 43 Ghiribizzi that were in origin devoted to guitar. It's a short list of 43 tunes that match the name. Ghiribizzi name can be translated as "whims". So compositions are short and whimsy. So no serious issues. So much joy in playing these whimsical piece. The are in the book songs without text. These melodies were collected for Gubernatorial collection which was founded in 1819 on the territory of former Austro-Hungarian Empire. It records songs and instrumental dances that were played at that time. Only melodies are recorded in the collection. That is why I added own harmonisation and arranged.
