The book contains 15 monophonic and 6 polyphonic compositions which were cretaed and played in the Czech area during the Medieval. Vast majority of pieces is sacred but there ate four secular compositions, too and two instrumental music. Wishinh you lovely time with Medieval music. The are in the book songs without text. Therefore, he was interested in Scottish folk song. He collected and prepared it to be published. When he was unsatisfied with lyrics in some of the songs, he revised it and arranged or wrote new lyrics on a former music. That is why many songs could be resurrected to life. And even though today we do not know the authors of the original music, at least we know the author of the lyrics. Therefore, we can play them on the EADGBE guitar and admire the beautifully arched melodies. I arranged fourteen carols for all crosspicking ukulele players. Whether you play carols under the Christmas tree or Nativity scene at the church, I wish you a merry and happy Christmas. Crosspicking is technnique where you switch between that are next to each other with a plectrum. Mostly you will do it according to repeating pattern. Ussually melody is on deep string and chord tones are on other strings.
