Shortly after the end of the season 2011/2012, Liverpool FC appointed a new, young, promising, and energetic manager in Brendan Rodgers. Since his instalment, he tried to instil his ideas, his model, his project, into the club, always with an eye on the present and the future in sight.Under Rodgers' guidance, season 2012/2013 looked more focused on the future, in a re-building process, than in the present; even so, it proved to be a season full of interesting developments for LFC, including the retirement of a long time servant, Liverpool FC legend in his own right; none other than Jamie Carragher. And including also frequent appearances on the pitch of new, young, and promising players, hopefully players that will prove to be the ones to lead Liverpool FC to new victories and football glory. While on the pitch it was not a season that will go on as a memorable one for Liverpool FC fans, only time will tell whether the foundations laid will become the roots of a new era at Anfield, or simply yet another frustrated try.Nonetheless, this future-oriented season had its own ups and downs, its own failures and successes, its own good and bad moments, its own significant developments. This book offers a personal insight in those developments in the form of a diary by a Liverpool FC fan. A step by step, match by match, recollection of how season 2012/2013, that future-oriented season, unfolded for Liverpool FC.
Many terms could accurately be applied to Liverpool FC 2013/2014 season. Almost all of them charged with positive reminiscences. Since the beginning of the Premier League, more than 20 years ago, Liverpool FC had never been closer to winning the title, had never been challenging for so long, had never scored more than 100 times, had never had a string of 11 consecutive league wins. A season that has been enthralling, hopeful, inspiring, full of proud and dreams, interesting, encouraging; no doubt, with a touch of disappointment. A season that has also been surprising.Surprising in many ways. From a 7th finish in the league table the previous season, hardly anyone could have hoped the kind of season that the team has offered to the fans. Therefore, surprise is a prevalent feeling. Almost every player has performed above their expected level, thus laying the foundations for the team to have such a successful run in the Premier League. In particular, Sterling, Suarez and Gerrard, each one in their own task, have simply excelled, to a surprising extent, and in one moment or another led the team to success.Surprise after surprise, only the final culmination has been elusive to Liverpool FC in 2013/2014. In the form of a diary, this book offers a personal view on how the season and its surprises unfolded for Liverpool FC. It provides the reader with an opportunity to relive all the process, with the joyful moments and the final frustration; it also provides the opportunity to keep the season alive, to keep experiencing the surprise.
My books are about enchanted creatures and places and a collection of short stories. In my stories, I want the readers to feel happy and feel their imagination being stirred up. I want them to keep wanting to read more of my stories about dragons, unicorns, sea creatures, and houses that, if they could talk, ask about the American dream and where did we go wrong? Educational and inspiring, giving hope and faith to help them in their life, this is my collection of short stories from A to Z.
