In India, we love our sweets. All celebrations must include something 'meetha', else is it even a celebration? However, what we miss is that in the sweetness of sugar lies the deadly sting of Diabetes.According to the International Diabetes Federation, in 2020, over 77 million of India's population suffered from this chronic health problem. Look around, and you will find someone within your circle, living a life of fluctuating blood glucose levels. Many of my relatives and friends have Diabetes and continue to suffer, some even to this date. They crave for certain foods and sweets, and I can't help but feel sorry for them. Despite all the efforts they put into controlling sugar, they remain powerless against this illness. At 49, my reports told me I was pre-diabetic, and that my HbA1c had crossed 6.5. Doctors advised me to start medication as a cautionary measure. I had no alternative but to join the fraternity of Diabetes patients forever unless I did something drastic! I had promised my wife, so I simply did what was in my best interest.I went ahead and picked DRASTIC.And today, I am sugar-free with my Hb1AC at6. I have lost 16 kgs of weight ( fat) and added 2 kgs in muscle. I feel more energetic, fitter and happier. I can eat sweets, and most importantly, my wife doesn't hold a grudge for not keeping my promise, back then. How did I do it?What were the changes? When did the results show? This book is an attempt to answer all these questions and more. If you or anyone you know suffers from Diabetes and are willing to bring about a change in your life, sans medicines, then walk this journey with me. I assure you, this has a sweet ending, well within the blood glucose levels.
