Jacob Bedell, an accomplished man to anybody looking in, secretly spent his whole life trying to avoid any real challenge that came his way. That all changed when he suddenly was faced with the possibility that his wife could have cancer and die. Although the terror he felt kicked off his typical pattern of frozen avoidance, he knew that if he did nothing, it would tear him apart inside. One fateful night, in a moment of exhausted desperation he does something that will change his life forever. Although unsure of the result at first, he soon begins to see signs that make him believe that his own actions caused her life to be spared. This takes him on a quest that will challenge his long-standing cynicism and fear, in order to make sense of what has transpired. Along the way he'll seek answers from many intriguing characters. But will he have the courage to accept what he ultimately finds? One thing is certain, Jacob Bedell won't be the same again and neither will you after you read, Hope Road.
