"Der vorliegende Atlas verdankt seine Entstehung der vielfältigen Anregung, welche die Beschäftigung in der psychiatrischen Klinik in Giessen mir gebracht hat.Es ist unzweifelhaft, dass in der Psychiatrie das Bedürfnis besteht, die komplizierten Krankheitserscheinungen, welche zur Beobachtung gelangen, auf diese oder jene Weise zu einer objektiven Darstellung zu bringen. Gewiss kann vieles durch die einfache Beschreibung wiedergegeben werden. Allein hierbei liegt die Gefahr immer wieder nahe, dass in den wiedergegebenen Beobachtungen ein subjektives Moment zum Ausdruck kommt, welches bei der Beurteilung der Resultate wesentlich berücksichtigt werden muss.Besonders schwierig liegen die Verhältnisse bei der Schilderung physiognomischer und mimischer Erscheinungen. Auf Befehl Heinrich Himmlers wurden ab 1942 in fast allen großen Konzentrationslagern der Nazis Bordelle für Häftlinge eingerichtet. Häftlingsfrauen aus den KZ Ravensbrück und Auschwitz wurden mit falschen Versprechungen in die Bordellkommandos gelockt oder von der SS für diese selektiert. Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die Gründe für die Errichtung der KZ-Bordelle, die Selektionsstrategien der SS und exemplarisch die Geschichte des Bordells im KZ Sachsenhausen.
