My mother Rose Mae Townsend was an inspiration! She would tell my brother and I what happened in Montgomery Alabama where her parents raised her. My mom's mother died giving birth to her little sister Carrie Townsend making life hard. She helped raise her siblings, always making sure they went to school to learn. My mom spoke of good and bad times growing up in Montgomery ALA. She missed her mom a lot and always told us stories about Roselee Townsend. The way she spoke of the town, places, and stores from the past. I decided to save and go visit that place. I visited the archives and found my mom had more siblings and family. I stayed there for two weeks, talking every day to people and gathering information. My hope is book will one day connect me to this part of my family. Contact me and say, "hello we are related". The Townsends have a rich legacy and I am blessed to be related. The same stories will be passed down to my children and their children. I am 64 years old and thank God for it. I will travel again and seek my family out one day soon. My prayer is whatever dreams you have do them. Stop making excuses and live your life. After graduating she worked as a billing clerk and sold Avon Products. She gained employment at Cleveland Metro Schools working over 30 years. In her later years she attended Cleveland State University for a while, then attending Cuyahoga Community College she obtained a degree in Liberal Arts. Returning back to Cuyahoga Community College she received a Safe Serve Certificate from their Culinary Program. She plans to return to improve her cooking skills and obtain a degree. Her hobbies are cooking, baking, reading, and writing books. For 11 years she served as a Scout Leader with her students. A strong believer of faith, she loves meeting new people and enjoying life.

My Mom raised me on Hough in Cleveland, Ohio. Writing this book helped me break free of my past. The heartache of my father leaving us. I was lost! Life didn't seem real, I was shame and hid my pain. Mother always said what goes on in this house stays in this house. That taught me to keep secrets. Nobody could see the pain inside of me. Everyone desires to beloved. The more I aged the greater that desire burned in me. I didn't want to end up an old maid. I met a gentleman I thought was God sent. He was much older, we started dating and he swept me off my feet. I knew this would last forever. Being with him I was fulfilled and happier than I have ever been. The sad thing was he had another side. Eventually it is revealed, but my dream colored reality. Then one night God manifested himself to me. He spoke, warning me not to proceed. I didn't want to believe what he was saying. With fear griping my heart I curled up in a fetal position. He told me, he is not your husband. He asked, do you want to be a nurse maid?
