Sarcopenia refers to the aging-related muscle wasting and weakness which involves a degenerative loss of skeletal muscle mass, quality and strength. It is a condition characterized by muscular atrophy. Exercise level, nutrition, and co-morbidities all influence the rate of muscle loss.
