DUPED! Deception In Graceland By Sara Lang Detail Page: Having been duped by the postmodern cultural church, more specifically the emerging church, it was time to go on a scavenger hunt and locate missing pieces of the puzzle. My search began with the rapidly moving Interfaith Movement, then through the maze of the emerging church. Enjoying a lifetime of observing and participating in various Christian churches, I had a bird's eye view of the timeline of growth and change in Christianity. My marching boots remind me of the privilege and discipline it takes to grow in stubborn, thriving faith. My purpose in writing DUPED! is to examine the anatomy of deception. Then, I show deception's lifeline from the emerging church all the way through New Age delusion to the origin of deception in the Garden of Eden. This project is heavily documented, noting approximately twenty-five authors, and is couched within a blog format to give readers time to reflect as they follow the interplay of conversation. My intent is to forge a work that is stimulating to the investigative mind, and yet written in such a way that it will be an "easy read" for those who sometimes get off track in a highly academic approach. Unless otherwise noted, all scriptures are quoted from The New King James Version of the Holy Bible. The information in this book is vital to youth and adults who desire to see concepts in the Bible compared to present postmodern thinking, but even more urgent for Christians who are in the dark as to what is happening. Several of the chapters in Duped include information from charts I've entitled, "Sleight-Of-Hand" vocabulary. Contrasting common words and phrases found both in the Bible and also slyly tucked in New Age terminology and belief, will lead readers to perceive the gravity for discernment in this age. For a challenge, reflective questions will follow each chapter in order to give readers a vehicle for sagacity. Finally, a call for the Church of Jesus Christ to take a stand, as the Church Triumphant, will lead to closing pages of encouragement and instruction from the wisdom of Richard Wurmbrand, founder of The Voice of the Martyrs.
