I met him in a bar at the International Association of Fairs & Expositions in Las Vegas nearly thirty years ago. We were both in the same line of work then and had similar interests. Our conversation went from work, to sports, to cars, the usual stuff guys talk about. After several beers he asked me if I'd ever been in love, then over the next several hours he told me a highly unusual tale. After my first book was published in 1992, I heard from him again, and he told me what had happened to him during the ensuing years since our first meeting. This is the very strange story of how his seemingly normal, happy life was abruptly interrupted against his will, by the uninvited intrusion of an archetype, or some other subconscious entity and the destruction which `it' whatever it may have been, caused him and those in his immediate circle. He quickly lost his successful career, income, and marriage in rapid succession. Here is what happened to him as he literally descended into hell, and how he eventually emerged completly transformed. I agreed to publish his tale since I found it interesting, to say the least, and very frightening. I could have initially dismissed what happened to him as purely subjective, that is, as some sort of mental or psychological break or aberration, had not the events been so entertwined with the physical realm. The information contained here was submitted over a period of more than two years as audiotape, which I transcribed and edited as needed. Due to the highly personal nature of what occurred he insisted upon anonymity, therefore I am listed as author.

SCIENCE FICTION: Marduk, the Supreme Leader of the powerful Secret Chiefs addressed the Council members with the very ominous words, "Gentleman, the Earth needs to take a big crap and excrete these vile, disgusting, filthy human rodents once and for all. They were fine as slave laborers when we created them to mine needed Rotanium on this planet. Since we no longer require that substance, they are in effect, redundant. We will destroy this putrescent cesspool with a one-dimensional death star which will become three-dimensional when it enters this galaxy. Their ignorant, arrogant, so-called scientists will think it an illusion, until it's too late. Time factor? Three weeks. These disgusting wretches must be exterminated!" When deadbeat socialite Chip Hamster returns home to Nashville after his father's murder, he quickly squanders his inheritance and becomes involved in a scheme of securing loans from banks by using titles to high end luxury cars which he has acquired from a junkyard near Chattanooga. Based on his late father's reputation and his own presumed wealth, he easily succeeds. The only problem is that the cars don't actually exist. They've already been scrapped. Unbeknownst to himself, trouble is on the horizon. Soon, Chip will be retrieved from the Tennessee River after a motoring accident by an unusual group of mad scientists who hold him prisoner within the strange Wildman Sanitarium. Missing, presumed dead, and planning his escape, he learns that the sanitarium is merely a cover for their intentions to destroy Earth. Should he, against all odds, save the planet, he must return from his presumed death, restore his reputation, and reestablish himself in the Music City in the style to which he's accustomed.
