Thomas More's Utopia is one of the seminal, founding works of European humanism and has been such since it was first published in the early 1500s. A rewarding, but difficult, read, it is well worth the time invested.
Sir Thomas More (1478-1535) was an English lawyer, social philosopher, author, statesman and noted Renaissance humanist. He was an important counselor to Henry VIII of England.
