Det var på privatteatret Das Königsstädtische Theater i Berlin, at Kierkegaard havde sin teateroplevelse. Det lå på hjørnet af Alexanderplatz og Alexanderstrasse og var, i først halvdel af attenhundredetallet, en sand magnet på de brede lag i befolkningen.
