A few months ago I received what I will consider a book of poetry that will have changed my life forever, and from perhaps one of my favorite poet in the world, Su Zi. Reading Su Zi's work, particularly her most recent, you get the sense that there's this perpetual stream of poetry flowing through her head 24/7, and that whenever she feels like it. She can just reach down and scoop up a cup of brilliance. The beginnings and endings are nebulous, as if they continue on through underground aquifers after the last line. And like any river, you can never step into the same poem twice.What's more, her writing process is focused on the moment of creation, and a trust in spontaneity.
