Aboard his decrepit pirate ship The Hexon, the villainous Captain Kruel sails in search of ill-gotten loot. Meanwhile, brave Captain Landon helms the noble vessel The Legacy, though his crew lives in fear of the legendary Kraken - a gargantuan octopus with a taste for ships. While other captains flee at the mere mention of this aquatic beast, Landon hatches a daring plan. Rather than shrink from the giant cephalopod, Landon steers The Legacy on a collision course with the creature. In the face of his crew's terror and Kruel's delight at his rival's apparent suicide mission, Landon remains resolute. As this courageous, compassionate captain approaches the Kraken, an unexpected friendship takes hold between two unlikely souls. In his message of hope and heroism, Landon discovers that by facing one's greatest fears, the most rewarding treasures can be found - not least of all, the courage that lies within. Join this bold captain as he turns peril to promise and stands tall no matter the seas ahead. For what is bravery, if not grace under pressure?
Emma and Becky Miller have a problem; well, actually, they have two problems: the former has a beard phobia and the latter is afraid of horses. Not a big deal if one is free to choose a suitor who won't sprout a beard after the marriage vows are uttered and if cars are an accepted mode of transportation. However, the sisters are Amish, and since therapy is not an option, what are the girls to do? Then Becky is kidnapped and Lord Edward Greyson, a British playboy who is hiding out in Lancaster County for a while, joins Emma in the search for her sister. He asks his FBI connection, Lester Blake, for help. Lester and his team are searching for a stolen diamond necklace and when the two crimes seem connected, all roads lead to Amish country...
Does anyone really like plain oatmeal? Sammy and his dog, Leroy, sure didn't. And why should they? No brown sugar. No raisins. Just boring oatmeal! And, unfortunately, that was the only breakfast they had, every morning. And since Sammy's nana liked knitting better than children, she was no help either. One day Sammy and Leroy decided to discover what the neighbours were having for breakfast. And oh, what a revelation that was! Frosted Flakes! Eggs and Bacon! And then, to Sammy and Leroy's utter horror: another house where oatmeal was served. But what a difference! There were so many exciting additions that the oatmeal was barely recognizable! When Sammy grew up, that bowl of oatmeal-turned-delicious inspired him to become a breakfast chef, which goes to show that any idea, no matter how dreadful, can be turned into something exciting if one just uses a little imagination.
