Hidden 'scars' are those things which we have not yet dealt with. Whether these 'scars' are childhood trauma(s), family issues, or prior relationship issues, we all have them. They just may not have been exposed yet. But if you just wait for it, and wait for it some more, these 'scars' will make their debut. These are the 'scars' that the enemy uses to trap you. To keep you in bondage. To strong-hold you into believing that you will never be able to break free. These are the 'scars' that the enemy uses to trick you into doubting that you will never have a future with a healthy relationship. But the devil is a liar! This is the mere reason why we welcome God calling us to the carpet. Because in our prayers, we are asking God to rid us of all of that 'stuff' that prevents His glory from going forth in our lives. Rid us of all the 'stuff' that strangles us from walking in the role(s) that He has called us into. Getting called to the carpet empties you, so that God can fill you. Getting called to the carpet erases your 'old' ways of thinking and allows God to give you His 'new' way of thinking. Getting called to the carpet allows God to fill you with His fresh revelation. Getting called to the carpet allows God to fill you with His fresh direction. Getting called to the carpet allows God to fill you with His fresh instructions. FYI: God can use our hidden scars for His glory. Because, it is on the carpet that we are standing in accountability for our own actions. It is on the carpet that we are asking God to cleanse us in a way like only He can. Cleanse us of our own wickedness. Cleanse us of our own vulnerabilities. Cleanse us of our own insecurities. So that in all things, God will get the glory. We are presenting ourselves as a living sacrifice for God to use how He sees fit; holding onto nothing. We want to go into our marriage holding onto nothing. No past hurts. No past traumas. No past mistakes. No past triggers. No past unhealthy mindset(s). We desire going into our marriage holding onto nothing, but expecting God to give you everything.
Staying Joyfully Married...My Little Book of "What-Nots," is a book about ''what not'' to do in marriage. Under the obedience of The Holy Spirit, I was instructed to share the ''struggles'' of my marriage journey. I may not be able to tell you what to do. But I can share with you ''what not'' to do in order to help ensure that you stay joyfully married. These are my little ''charms'' that have been hand-picked from my tailor-made garden. The enemy thought he was going to use my little ''charms'' for my demise, but God saw differently. God is using these same little ''charms'' for His glory. And now, these little ''charms'' have become my testimony. My testimony that God can use even me, in my mistakes. My testimony that God can use even me, in my brokenness. My testimony that God can use even me, in my insecurities. My testimony that God can use even me, in my vulnerabilities. My testimony that God can use even me, in my self-destructive choices. I do not know what my future holds, but I do know ''Who'' holds my future. And I anxiously await the next ''Big Reveal'' that God has ordained for my life.
Who would choose to expose their mistakes, their flaws, their embarrassments, or even their disappointments on a public platform? Not my idea of 'private' healing. And certainly not my idea of fun. But, I guess God saw otherwise. Because here I am! I have never been much involved with social media. But, while God has been transforming, renewing, restoring, & healing my heart, writing has ultimately become my 'social media' platform. "Growing Up In Marriage...Perfectly Flawed," is a book about choices. My choices. My journey. My detours. My vulnerabilities. My insecurities. My feelings. My life. This book is all about me. Although it is about me living through my brokenness and my pain, it is mainly about my testimony of how God redeemed and healed me through the beauty of it all. I would not have chosen to expose myself in a public forum. But, I did not. God did. So, in my obedience, I am putting myself out there to possibly be ridiculed. To possibly be judged. Even to be condemned. And, maybe even to possibly be ostracized. But even with all of that, my obedience to God's instructions outweighs everything. If being transparent in my flaws means that God can use my experiences, then my journey will have been worth it. It just reaffirms what God has already told me, "Your life 'really' is not about you. For you are living a borrowed life not your own."
From Trial to Test to Testimony...The Promise of Eden is a witty and whimsical memoir of one woman''s life''s journey learning how to walk by faith and not by sight. No matter how unfair life can be, no matter how many trials you may face, no matter how many times life knocks you down, this book urges you to get back up. God has a plan for you! Tena may have kicked and screamed through her own life''s struggles and disappointments at times, but God was pruning and teaching her a valuable lesson-He can be trusted. "God has taken my every experience of pain, abuse, embarrassment, emotional scarring, and brokenness, and He has used it to grow me. For every trial you may face, for every test you go through in life, God is birthing a testimony, a promise, in you... The question is whether you''ll share it or not."
