Sharpe's British Theater V7 is a collection of four plays written by Thomas Otway, published in 1804. The first play, Venice Preserved, is a tragedy set in 17th century Venice, following the story of two lovers caught in a web of political intrigue and betrayal. The second play, The Revenge, is a tragicomedy about a Spanish nobleman seeking revenge for the murder of his father. The third play, The Country Girl, is a comedy about a young woman from the countryside who travels to London to seek her fortune. The final play, The Citizen, is a satire about a wealthy merchant who tries to fit into high society.
