NOTE: Beware of knock offs. Get the real thing by Wayne Moore. This is the black and white version of the full color "The Dashboard Book".The Dashboard Book in Black and White: American Automobile Dashboards 1899-1969 is an illustrated history with more than 400 black and white photographs and more than 160 different cars. Throughout, the styling of dashboards is related to the artistic and cultural trends of the day and the styling trends of auto exteriors. It traces the evolution of dashboards from simple wooden boards of the carriage and buggy styles of the early 1900's to the conflicting styles of the 1920's and the Art Deco and Streamline Moderne styles of the 1930's and 1940's. The excessive designs of the 1950's and the diversity of styles of the 1960's complete the volume. An exterior photo of every car accompanies each dashboard photo and description. Early instrumentation is also discussed as is the influence of the first affordable closed car. Brief histories and descriptions of dashboard accessories and controls are also included. A color version is also available.
Triumphant Warrior is an incredible and compelling story of how Wayne Moore found strength through struggle after finding himself in prison for protesting the institutionalized racial discrimination and hostilities surrounding court-ordered desegregation in Wilmington N.C. . Wayne was sentenced to nearly thirty years in prison after state and federal officials conspired together, to unjustly frame him and the other members of the Wilmington Ten. A riveting and soul stirring account of one man's triumph over injustice. Wayne writes "Today, four members of the Wilmington Ten are no longer with us in body. But in so many ways they, like all of us, will live on as witnesses, as well as markers in the road to better intersections toward the just and the humane. I hope this memoir can be a map to such a place where truth is everlasting and always liberating." Wayne Moore is founder of the Wilmington Ten Foundation for Social Justice. His foundation is dedicated to serving youth and families in Wilmington, N.C. Visit the foundation website at www.wilmtenfoundation.org.
