In the late 19th century, Wenceslau de Moraes was a Portuguese diplomat who lived in Japan and fell in love with the culture. He wrote a series of letters in which he described his life in Japan and provided insights into Japanese customs, traditions and people. This book is a compilation of those letters.This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.This work is in the "public domain in the United States of America, and possibly other nations.
