Charles worries about where to put the witness when the trial is over to hide him in plain sight while protecting him.An assassin travels to Denver and confronts Charles regarding the man he is protecting and then the villain travels to Atlanta to seek revenge against Charles by hurting or killing his family.Charles' Indian friends are encountered and one is seriously wounded and Charles escorts the Indians to Denver in an effort to save the injured man's life by placing him in the hospital. After dealing with the Indians Charles travels to Atlanta to avert trouble between the assassin and his daughter and son-in-law. Charles convinces his wife, Judith, and the two children to accompany him to England for a business holiday and discovers the need for a salesman and sets out to find one with only a few days before returning to America.

Hunt makes a speech at graduation, and presents the new U.S. Deputy Marshals with their badges, and makes a presentation at the U.S. Marshals' graduation and gives them their U.S. Marshal Badges.Hunt accompanies Earl to Florida while Clayton escorts Beth to Denver.Anger dominates the union of Earl and his new and untested Deputy Marshals. Hunt steps in when things begin to spin out of control and is forced to make an unpleasant change. They perform a manhunt for the missing Marshal and make a surprising find.Hunt returns to Denver and is reunited with the family. They return to Chicago, and the kids are excited about each having their own room and the generosity of cookies and attention that Martha offers.Hunt returns to work and begins to understand the real meaning of the job.Hunt travels to Bangor, Maine and goes on a dangerous mission with the men to arrest three bank robbers.Hunt begins visiting Marshal offices and gives a few lessons on how to recruit good Deputy Marshals.

Charles's adventures take him across America and across the Atlantic in this episode of Charles' life.Charles struggles to set up a Clydesdale breeding farm with the right people to manage it.Charles struggles with the new Nashville farm, and tangles with a young deputy sheriff while eating breakfast.Charles needs to travel to England to check on his businesses, yet he has a hard time finding someone to travel with him.Charles convinces his railroad construction manager, Darren, to travel with him and just as they are planning to leave Charles gets a message that his Cheyenne ranch manger was shot by a poacher butchering one of his yearling calves. Charles travels to Denver and asks his blood-brother, Gray Wolf, to travel with him to find the assassin. Charles eventually travels to England with Darren and on the return trip from France with a ship load of Champagne grape plants, Darren sees a young lady and falls in love at first sight. The only problem is that the girl only speaks French and Spanish, and Darren only speaks English.

Charles visits California while he is in Denver and is pleased with the progress. Charles returns to Denver and finds the two horses that Harris Hudson has sent to be bred. Pun Le tells Charles that he has run them around the track and their times are slow. Charles understands why he did it, and it angers him a little. A problem arises with the railroad construction crew in Arizona. Charles travels to the construction site to resolve the issue. Charles travels to Arizona to resolve the issue and Ghost rides with him. Charles asks for the U.S. Marshals help when he learns the rancher has twelve gun hands. Charles returns to San Francisco and buys some land and ends up in a court battle with an angry and vindictive man, forcing Charles to ask for help from his good friend, Bill Bulger, to represent him in court. Charles returns to Philadelphia and is pleased with how the farms are being turned around. White Buffalo has applied to Harvard Law School and received a letter of denial. Charles suspects that it is due to White Buffalo's name and travels to Harvard with White Buffalo to confront the administration. Charles discovers that Harvard's requirements include a letter of recommendation from a high ranking political official. Charles knows just the people to appeal to.
