There are over 2000 books written on the Revelation. However, in Robert Smith's 60 years of research on the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, he has felt that, by in large, most authors have missed the real theme by dwelling mostly upon the auxiliary matters instead of the main subject, which is the Lord Jesus Christ and His latter-day Revelation. So, for many years, he has tried to dig out all the appearances of Jesus in the text. Just as the Messiah of the Old Testament is hidden in symbolic and cryptic shadows. Jesus in the Revelation is mostly hidden behind the scene. You find Him in Heaven and appearing only in suggestion or behind symbolic metaphors. He seldom names Himself or points attention to Himself directly. It is for that reason that Jesus said, "Search the scriptures for they are they which speak of me" In Christ in the Revelation you will find that Christ is present in all of the scenes, directing the action, but He is seldom named. You are invited to follow through the text of this book as we look for Jesus Christ, for it is, after all, The Revelation of Jesus Christ.
"Robert, I don't have any savings. My house is worth less than I owe on it. I have no rich relatives. Mary's car was totaled, and mine's a piece of junk. I have little hope my wife will live, and if the child survives, he will be severely handicapped and need medical attention and care all his life." Joe paused trying to imagine what the future might hold for him and his son. "Possibly down the road when I'm more financially secure, I can adopt your standards, if I feel convicted to, but for the time I'm stuck with the state plan. Besides, I've paid my taxes all my life. Don't they owe it to me? I don't see how I can do it otherwise." Joe has to face reality...everything he has worked for, everything he loves in life is crashing around him and he is being pressured on all sides to cave in to the inevitable. Will he give up his rights and bow to the darkness surrounding him or will his faith in God's providence, and his convictions cause him to do the absolute right?

Amendment I of the United States Constitution states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." To "abridge" means to curtail, to shorten, to lessen, to diminish, to cut off, to deprive or cut off from (i.e., to abridge one's rights). Patrick Henry once said, "The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government, . . . lest it come to dominate our lives and interests." There is no question that what happened to Gary Trout so long ago was a shocking and frightening violation of the separation of church and state. This is his story of how the government overstepped its bounds in clear violation of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution by its invasion into church polity. The First Amendment of the United States Constitution severely circumscribes the role that a court may play in resolving a church dispute; nevertheless the church he pastored unbelievably became a state-run church. Now after twenty four years, the Lord has led him and convinced him to tell the untold story. The true, complete story is often unheard. He recounts the events which have never surfaced that contributed to the calumnious and calamitous condition that put him in court, removed him from preaching, and restrained him from acting as pastor in any manner. This is the story of government intervention in church affairs, the astounding events that transpired during that time, and the victory finally won at the state's highest court, the West Virginia Supreme Court in a unanimous decision filed on July 3, 1989.

A.H. Frank, who lived in the 1700's, had no money, no wealthy family; nothing but faith in the Lord. By praying, money was given, and Mr. Frank built an immense orphanage for 2,000 children. Living in the 1800's in Bristol, England, George Mueller was encouraged by reading about Mr. Frank. Through prayer and trusting God he built an orphanage for 2,000 children by faith, as well! As seniors in Bible College Joyce and her husband received a book entitled, God Is Real, by Dr. Dallas Billington, who started the Akron Baptist Temple in Akron, Ohio. In that book, Billington shared how the church was started in 1935 and grew to a membership of nearly sixteen thousand. Joyce and her husband, Tim; known as Preacher in this book, didn't build any orphanages or a church of sixteen thousand in membership. However they had the same God that Professor Frank had in the 1700's, the same God that George Mueller had in the 1800's, and the same God that Dr. Billington had in the early 1900's. Throughout this book you will see how GOD IS STILL REAL even in the twenty-first century and still in the 'prayer answering and life changing business!'
What makes this book of great value for the Christian interpreter is the fact that Dr. Johnson not only examines and explains the text from the Christian perspective he also helps the reader understand how the Jewish rabbis for many centuries have explained these first words of their sacred text. Johnson draws on his rich background in Hebrew, Aramaic, Targums, and Christian theology to explain the text.
A must read book for every person who interacts with children; whether you are parents, foster parents, single parents, a school teacher, coach, counselor or teenager thinking about what it takes to raise a family, or you are someone considering adoption. The destiny of a newborn may be determined before conception. Raising the Whole Child-Gardens of Destiny, provides a clear action plan of how to ensure the beautiful blossoming of a child, starting with identifying the barriers affecting a child's life that could lead to a life of poverty and dependence. A heartfelt book with stories, both tragic and triumphant, about children who have overcome despite the odds.
Trying to disprove and thereby kill the biblical Jesus is nothing new. Matthew records that immediately after the news broke in Jerusalem that Jesus' body was missing, Jewish leaders formulated a story to invalidate the resurrection. Could the biblical account be a conspiracy cover-up by Jesus' disciples? With the recent frontal attack upon the credibility of Christianity from both atheists and religionists, it is essential that the church have skilled and scholarly apologists who are able to make a defense for the hope that is in us. This book is a carefully crafted defense of the integrity of the Christian scriptures involving the killing of Jesus by crucifixion and the resurrection of Christ our Savior. This is a must read for anyone interested in the facts surrounding the Death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
"Christy, everything is going to be all right." Tragedy comes to all of us some time in our life. It is how we respond to trials that determines our character. Some respond by turning away from God, while others draw closer to God to get them through the calamity. Christy's life came crashing down around her as the result of an accident that took someone who was dear to her away and almost took her life. Shattered Dreams is about a life that was changed forever because of one event. However, even a shattered life is made new through faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Throughout this book, Christy shares how God was always in control, guiding every step of her life, and even performing some miracles along the way.
Fans of apocalyptic fiction won't be able to resist this fast-paced novel that ties current events in the Middle East to biblical prophecies. When Eli Ben-David and his best friend, Jonathan, are called up for duty in Israel's armed forces, Jonathan's wife, Sarah, and members of their close-knit Messianic congregation hold a constant prayer vigil. A massive Syrian chemical strike on Israel follows. The world is stunned when Israel responds by dropping nuclear bombs on Damascus. When a peace conference is held in Europe, a dynamic young prince emerges as a world leader. The exciting story continues as prophecies are fulfilled and events catapult the world into the final battle of Armageddon.
The purpose of this book is in no way suggesting how you should raise your children, for this is your responsibility and awesome pleasure. Linda's desire is not only to remember Hailey Owens and her life, but to raise an awareness of the need for child safety and to bring it back as the number one priority in our homes and school. Her prayer is that parents will read this book to their children and will make it a daily resource to use in their lives. We need to start planting in the minds of our children, as young as two years old, how to be safe in this world. Our children and grandchildren are growing up in a cruel and evil world. It is our responsibility to equip them with safety rules and guidelines. Hailey did nothing wrong the day she was kidnapped and her life was taken. She was only doing what all little girls and boys like to do, playing and having fun. It is Hailey's wish that all children be safer and smile their way through life.
There was a scene in a recent movie in which a group of men were sitting around talking about life. One man asked the rest if they remembered when they knew they had become a man. As each of them answered, one particular answer got me thinking. The man simply said, "When my father called the man out in me." The title of that movie was Courageous. Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a real man in today's world? Or maybe you're just looking for advice on some of life's important topics for guys such as college, buying a car, dating, love, marriage and raising a family. This book is full of just such advice from men who want to share their wisdom with you, and a mom who just happens to have a boy of her own.
