I am staring at a blank piece of paper, wondering what to write. Where do I begin? My mind begins to wander-pleasant thoughts of Disney's Fantasia dance in my head. The dancing hippopotamus comes to mind, and this made me laugh. The result: I penned a poem on the hippopotamus from which a chapbook was born: The Usefulness of Hippopotamus: A Humorous Chapbook for Trying Times. One cannot imagine a world without humor. Without humor, the world will be dark, cold, and a sad place, tragically lacking joy, cheerfulness, and laughter.Humor is medicine. During rough times, humor will help lighten and lessen physical and mental anxiety. In challenging times, I chose humor. During the Pandemic, I had to deal with my bladder cancer. In my struggle not to get depressed or dwell in negativity, to find solace, contentment, and peace, I chose to seek out beauty and laugh. In search of happiness, the humor worked its charm, resulting in a treasure chest of joy. So, I wrote my chapbook, The Usefulness of Hippopotamus: A Humorous Chapbook for Trying Times and discovered humor even among the hippopotami! You can, too.Peace & flowers.Love & light.
Where does Santa Claus find his helpers to work in the North Pole with him? How do they get there? These are age-old questions that are answered in a thoughtful and fun-loving way by the author Waring Jones as he reveals what happened to him when he was five years old in 1949 and very sick with pneumonia. His family takes him to the children's hospital in Toronto where he receives good care from the nurses and doctors. Though his father works hard during the day, he is always sure to visit Waring and read him stories. One night, dad wakes Waring to share a special letter he received. It's from Santa Claus, and it tells the little boy about the exciting things happening at the North Pole in preparation for Christmas. The heartwarming letter from Santa is just what Waring needs to get better and leave the hospital in time for Christmas.

This is a children's book (5-years and under) using the art of rhyme and illustration. The title is Oh-No Giraffe! who believes he has lost his spot on the top of his head. The giraffe went over the hill! and when he went, and when he went, he said he had a spill!
Poetry has always been a big part of my life but never as much as it is at present. I try to write a poem each day and to relate the images that are in my mind at that moment. The images can be about anything. I am often awakened with two random lines in my head that I must write down or I will forget them when I wake in the morn. This has been an occurrence for the past ten years or so.My latest influences have been about love, friendship, compassion, caring and forgiveness. One of my friends described me as a walking piece of performing art. I like it. I am going to continue to write poetry with a wanton wave of passion.

With the North wind as the referee, it comes to a chilling finish.Follow Santa's elves as they fight for the right to make toys and to discover where they came from.
