This book is a detailed overview of The Vedas, the holy book of the Hindus. The most important Hymns are quoted in full; extracts are also included from the Brahmanas, the part of the Rig Veda that that guides the Brahmans, the highest class of priests, in Vedic ceremonies. This is one of the oldest and most important of the world's holy books. It is primarily composed of hymns, poems, incantations and rituals from ancient India. Not only is this the "bible" of the Hindu religion, it also offers a unique snapshot of normal, everyday life in India as it occurred over four thousand years ago.
There is a divine part of mankind. It exists mostly as potential but it can be reached, according to the authors. A large body of surprising evidence is presented in this book, not only from Christian scriptures, but religious, scientific, and occult teachings from around the world. The authors meant this to serve as a guidebook for “godhood,” to help mankind take the final steps into spiritual freedom. A large part of this work reveals hidden wisdom found in the Christian scriptures. The authors claim that the recognition and experience of eternal unity, as taught in the scriptures, will one day save mankind rather than the belief in vicarious atonement. This fascinating book clearly explains the meanings of the fables, parables and allegories that are found in the ancient texts.
The most advanced and celebrated mind of the 20th Century, without a doubt, is attributed to Albert Einstein. Instead of his hard science and advanced mathematical theories, which often go far beyond the minds of average people, this book allows us to meet him as a person. This interesting book allows us to explore his beliefs, philosophical ideas, and opinions on many subjects so we can walk away afterwards knowing and understanding one of the world's greatest intellectual giants. Subjects include politics, religion, education, the meaning of life, Jewish issues, the world economy, peace and pacifism. One does not need an advanced degree in math or physics to appreciate the genius of Einstein, shared so clearly by the man himself in this book.
This book is considered to be the oldest known Jewish mystical text and is now an important part of Cabalistic studies. It first appeared in historical records during the first century C.E., but its principles had been passed down for centuries before this, with Jewish scholars believing that the patriarch Abraham had received the teachings directly. It is written from the perspective of an observer who is relating the work of God's creation step by step, as it unfolds. It covers not only the creation of the universe, but the formation of the earth and humanity as well. It reveals how the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet work symbolically and interact with one another, through God, to bring about our physical world. Most cultures agree that God created the universe, our world and our bodies but many creation stories beyond this one are less complete. By looking deeply at this story and studying its message, one can come away with meaningful insights that will not be available elsewhere. This book is often considered to be a meditative text, focused upon more in the first translation by Kalisch, and also as a magical text, covered more clearly in the second version by Stenring. If something is not made clear in one version it can be likely be found in the other, which is what makes this book so interesting. It is a very powerful mystical work and having access to two separate translations in one volume is of immense importance.
After claiming visions of advanced entities known as the Brotherhood of Light, whose purpose was to guide human destiny, Burgoyne and others established The Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor. In 'The Light of Egypt', vol.2, Burgoyne reveals how to attain the spiritual wisdom described in vol.1., with special reference to astrology.
In honor of this book’s 100-year anniversary in the English language, The Book Tree presents this special 2016 edition. It has become essential reading for serious writers and those involved in the dramatic arts by providing a more complete understanding of the story structures involved in books and dramatic performance. Writers and storytellers of all kinds have been able to expand creative boundaries, remove writer’s block, and increase their power to deliver a compelling story. These 36 dramatic situations are not plots, but the foundational building blocks for thousands of creative plots that one can produce. Many successful writers have thanked this book for helping them bypass writer’s block—to the point of releasing their genius within. It is also useful to actors and directors, providing a new perspective of the added dimensions found in a story or script. This increases an actor’s sense of the dramatic situation at hand and its relationship to the other features connected to the overall plot. Few instructional books have stood the test of time like this one has—because in this case there is nothing more timeless than the art of storytelling. To have clearly identified 36 dramatic situations with few other alternatives was pure genius and gave this book its credibility as being, arguably, the main reference work for the entire field of storytelling. In an effort to continue the work of Carlo Gozzi, who also found 36 dramatic situations, the author studied classical Greek texts and various works from China, India, Judea, and the modern and classic works available throughout Europe at the time. In so doing, he concluded that indeed, there are 36 dramatic situations, and no more. He presents them here, with details of their workings and the emotional context with which they should be displayed. This book should be in the library of every serious student or creative purveyor of the dramatic arts.
Centuries after a cataclysmic depopulation of the world, mankind sought to replicate the only connection he had with his Maker. Pyramids were erected everywhere, as colonies of survivors thrived. None have matched the Great Pyramid of Giza in size and meaning - its secrets now uncovered and explored in this important groundbreaking book. This book also covers new discoveries of the amazing teachings of Abraham at the Great Pyramid in Egypt, ancient traditions of the pyramid found in an extinct language, a secret body of obscure scriptures in the Bible that refer to the Great Pyramid, knowledge that the Great Pyramid complex was long ago beneath the Mediterranean Sea, ancient Egyptian accounts of the discovery of the Great Pyramid by them, secret traditions regarding the Sphinx and why it appears older than the pyramids - but is not, ancient teachings holding that Enoch was the architect of the Giza monuments before the Great Flood, and historical records showing that the Great Pyramid was built to preserve knowledge and survive through a planetary cataclysm.
Numerous times throughout Earth's history there have been major cataclysmic events. These events have resulted in large-scale climactic changes, mythological stories of floods and visitations from the skies, and sometimes the complete extinction of life. The major planetary body that has caused much of this carnage has been referred to by many names. Jason Breshears has termed it Phoenix, based on his research into the distant past and what it was usually called by witnesses. By piecing together ancient documents from the most reputable sources available, we have, in this book, the most extensive and accurate rendering of the cycle of the Phoenix, including when it will come again. Some of us, according to the author, will live to see its return. Beyond the foundational scientific evidence, the author ties in various Bible prophecies that relate directly to it. Many books exist on this subject, but few have broken new ground like this one, due to the extensive research involved.
This book maps out the entire historical chronology of planetary cataclysms starting in 4309 BC, covering the cyclical return of Nibiru, the planet Phoenix, and more. It also reveals the code for understanding the prophecies of Nostradamus, showing when they have occurred in the past, or when they will occur in the future. It takes the work of Mario Reading, who first broke the code, and shows how it perfectly applies to all of Breshears' previously made cataclysmic predictions for the years 2040 and 2046. Mr. Reading made mistakes in interpreting some quatrains for the years 2001-2012 that did not involve his code, so his work has been largely dismissed. Breshears brings Reading's work back to life with stunning clarity, and takes it one step further in our understanding of prophetic events. Also covers the predictions of Mother Shipton, who was not only a contemporary to Nostradamus, but made the exact predictions Breshears and Nostradamus made concerning two large scale global catastrophes that will occur six years apart. Despite the many predictions of others, the year 2012 passed with no worldwide cataclysmic events because, according to the author, they were never interpreted or explained correctly, until now. The author remains unmatched in his in-depth research regarding historical and geological cycles, which in turn allows him to accurately map major planetary events, past and future, many of which are outlined in this book.
The Anunnaki is a legendary race that appears in the oldest documents preserved by mankind. They are said to inhabit an outermost planet that orbits our sun in an extremely elliptical orbit. Each time this planet gets near to the earth it creates planetary cataclysms. Many researchers claim it will be returning soon. The work of Zecharia Sitchin, author of the Earth Chronicles series of books, focuses on the Anunnaki and their previous visits. Many have asked Sitchin, "When will this planet return?" He never gave an exact date, but said it was more than halfway back. Jason Breshears gives an exact year, and does so confidently, due to his extensive research. He delves not only into historical records, as Sitchin had done, but also uses scientific cycles and mathematical formulas that relate to our concepts of planetary time and orbits. The historical records, chronologically presented by Breshears, help in identifying cyclical patterns. He also employs advanced geometry, interprets complex crop circle patterns, and uses biblical prophecy in support of some of the astronomical events he has predicted. He does not cover much on the mythical aspects of the Anunnaki gods themselves, but focuses more on the actual sciences that can predict their return. Ancient stories and carefully documented proof are two different things. For these reasons, this book is highly recommended.
This interesting book reveals that at one time the books composing the Bible were not considered inspired at all, and that this idea came later. It shows who first endorsed them in this way and why it was done. Keeler admits to having no religious agenda in writing this book, but instead holds a simple desire to uncover the truth. This book allows one to explore the origins of the Bible in a more complete and sometimes surprising fashion.
Few books have the ability to change one's life, and this book has all the earmarks of being such a treasure. We are talking about profound changes - something within these pages which strikes at the depth of one's being and causes a powerful (and very welcome) new direction to take hold. To be clear, this book cannot promise to magically transform the reader. But as long as one approaches this work seriously and puts some effort into applying its teachings, then there is a real chance. If you wish to transform your life into something more powerful and more meaningful than what is commonly found within this mundane, worldly, hypnotic form of consciousness that society quietly crams down our throats, then you may have found an answer, and a new path to explore. Herein lies a chance to awaken the Immortal within.
First published in Latin in 1418, this Christian devotional book is considered to be the most widely read Christian text in the world, aside from the Bible. The translators of this version set out to create the most clear and readable version possible, which is updated into modern English. They also removed the original "statement" format, and placed relevant text into paragraphs that connect ideas together more fully, for easier reading. The reason for this book's popularity is due to its personal approach toward the reader. One can focus on self-improvement through inner work, based on Christ's teachings, via prayer and meditation. This process includes lessons that elevate one's spiritual nature toward a Christ-like way of being, rather than following outward rules that often fail. It has been popular throughout the ages with all devout Christians, as well as mystics and religious researchers. This Book Tree published version is highly recommended for those wishing to get the most out of their experience with this great Christian classic.
